For those of us using the USA rate code....

I just returned from Phoenix last night and used the code at Avis with no problems. (I know this is a Dis board, but this code has been in question for a while) The woman at the counter looked at my ressie and then at my printouts and gave me the rate I had printed. No questions, no problems. She even let me use the special offer that I got when I signed up for the wizard club that gave me $25 off of my rental. The deal is if you sign up, you get $5 a day off up to 5 days = $25. I was afraid that since we were renting for 9 days that they would find a loophole and say they could not give us the extra discount. Like I said, we had no problems.
When we were getting the car, their gas price was $1.16 gal. It was cheaper than the gas in Phoenix, so we took it to lock in the price. This is the first time that we have done that. I was really glad we did since the gas price was $1.24 when we returned the car yesterday.

Our 9 day rental, in Phoenix, for a Bonnaville(premium) WITH them filling the tank was $354!!! I don't remember who it was that originally made this code known, but we are giving you a BIG thanks! This car rental would have run us over $500 with out the info.

idontknow- Was the rate on your printout lower then the rate on their computers. I just booked yesterday and it shows a different rate then my printout.

Well..............when I signed DH up for the wizard club, their site had a some sort of glitch going on. After I made the ressie, I called to confirm and find out what I needed to bring with me to use the rate code. I was referred to CS because there wasn't a rate code in their computer. I talked to a very nice CS person and she said that she fixed all 18 ressies the computer had made for me. I asked what I needed and was told to bring my bnm card. (site I got the "K" number off of and they don't have "memberships") I asked what if the rate was more when I got to the airport. She told me as long as I have my printouts, my ressie would be fine. IF I did have any problems, just call CS and everything would be fine.

I took the following with me just in case: printout of actual confirmation page from when I made the ressie, printout of the email I was sent, printout showing there is no membership needed for bnm, and the printout with the extra discount for signing up with their wizard club.

When we got to the counter, there wasn't a rate code in the computer. The lady took my printouts and entered the amounts that I was quoted, no questions, no real problems. The only thing that she noticed is that there were over 30 ressies for the same car! LOL I told her what CS had found and we had a good laugh. They did not blame me or give me any grief, that is why I say that there were no problems. HTH
