For those of us that have the Disney Visa but were left out of the FREE Dining dates .... were you able to book a vacation with a discount?

We are traveling Nov. 1-8. Our children are on fall break for the whole week(in Alabama). I did not want to take them out of school for a week(even though I did in Sept 2006 for free dining) so I opted to keep my original dates. I was able to book the Fall Getaway Package and after crunching some numbers, I have decided not to be to upset that our dates were blocked. I have CBR (will be staying there for the first time!) booked for 7 nights-standard view with dining for 3 adults and 1 child plus 1 day MYW tickets. Our total is $2076.00. When I subtracted the dining plan and the tickets... Our room rate is only $97.75 per night That comes out to be a 41% savings per night off of the rack rate!!!


What rate were you able to get?

I am really bummed out that I was not able to get the free dining! We are booked NOv 30-Dec 6 those inbetween dates! Just doesn't seem right that they have skipped those dates before Thanksgiving when the code goes up to Christmas and later! Let's start a revolt disers!

Could not get any discount at all (DV or GP) for the CR Tower for our Oct 8 to Oct 13 reservation other than AAA

Has anybody gotten a discount for CR Tower rooms? I have only read discount being available for the Wing rooms.

We had a discount for CR MK view but I gave it up for 2 rooms at POP. It was a pin code I recieved. The Disney Visa free dining code was not as good at the fall getaway code if you are staying in a deluxe. Fall getaway was about 40% off rack rate.

I just tried to use the WDW website to get a quote if I added a night and the system is down. Could Disney be loading a GP code for free dining tonight? I feel like I'm scouring the web 24x7 waiting, looking and praying for a GP FD code. In all honest I shouldn't even be planning this trip b/c I'm losing my job by the end of the year but right now it's the only thing keeping me from losing my sanity. I keep telling myself that I have the money now might as well go b/c who knows when I can go again.

So I am. I was so disappointed yesterday morning when the very nice CM told me that the code was not available for my dates (11/28 - 12/5). The only reason I got the Disney Visa was for the discount codes and now I can't even use them. When I made our original reservations I put both mine and my parent's down payment on my Disney Visa in anticipation of a code being released down the road.

Our dates are October 22-27. Couldn't get Disney Visa FD, no AP rates for any deluxe that time period, no discounted MYW packages.

Thankfully since DH is running the Tower of Terror 13K we were able to get a discounted room only at BWI. Never saw such slim pickings with an AP or a Disney Visa!

I probably saved the least amount of money of anbody on DIS. We are staying at the Polynesian Dec. 13-18. Free dining doesn't kick in until the 14th. Even if I made 2 reservations and got FD from 14-18 I would still need to book a room only for the 13th at rack rate (no AAA available for that day anymore) and buy a 1 day ticket for our family or skip the park the first day which we are not willing to do. If I did that the savings would only be a little over $100 from the pin code I currently have. Not worth the hassle to me.

I calculated my current savings and it is 15% OF RACK RATE. I feel sad that I can't get a better deal than that

I am still hoping for a room only discount like the current Fall Getaway.

You might want to check out the room only with the discounts especially if you are not doing dining. You could always buy tickets on your own. I even think you can get the discounted room with a dining plan purchase and at least a 1 day ticket as well. I would double check what your agent is telling you. That's one reason why I like to make my own reservations with WDW to avoid the middle man.
