For those just back--Fantasmic crowds

Especially interested in the size of the crowds for Fantasmic on weeknights. I'm trying to figure out if we really need to buy a dinner package in order to avoid staking out a seat 90 minutes ahead of time. We will be at WDW next week.

We attended Fantasmic on Sunday, March 30th and two complete sections remained empty for the show.

We were there over Easter and it was full. I would say at least a half hour before show time the entire area was full. We go in early with food from Rosies and eat dinner in there killing two birds with one stone.

We were at fantasmic May 3rd Saturday night. Arrived 1 hour before and got great seats. but it did fill up fast. we made our own ps for the brown derby, didn't bother with the disney program, it just costs extra.

We were there last Tuesday night, April 29th - walked in literally 10 minutes before showtime and sat 4th row all the way over! Great seats - the opposite side from where they seat the PS package people.

We had eaten at PrimeTime first - no PS there, either.

We were there last week and got there 20 minutes early. No problem at all. I don't think it ever filled quite up.

I am not "just back", but last year twice did the Fantasmic Dinner Package on Oct 31 and Dec 6, and both times the theatre was less than 70% full (three complete sections empty). I don't regret doing the package as Hollywood & Vine is a good buffet and the package only costs what you would pay anyway, but it certainly wasn't necessary. Some guidebooks tell you Fantasmic always fills and you have to be in line 90 minutes early, but it just isn't true during slower times.

An advantage of the dinner package seating is that you can sit wherever you want in that section (front, middle or back) without being "herded". Although it's off to one side the view of the show is just as good as any other section.
