MIl wants to get DD tickets to this http://www.puppet.org/perform/shoemaker09.shtml for her birthday next month. We'd probably go to a Saturday showing during the last week of November or the first week of December. Has anyone ever gone to these types of shows and is it something a 7 year old would enjoy? Also, I was wondering what the neighborhood is like, and if we should choose a show earlier in the day rather than one that lets out closer to nightfall. It says there's parking nearby, but I'm not really familiar with Atlanta so am unsure of what to expect. Thanks!

My girls, now 9 and 11 have always liked shows at the Center for Puppetry Arts. We went as a family quite a bit when they were younger and they have both taken a bunch of school field trips there. Kindergarteners and first graders at our school go several times a year. We haven't been to a show in awhile, though.

I live in an intown Atlanta neighborhood. I don't have a problem with the location of the Center of Puppetry Arts. DD11's ballet studio is across the street from there and DH's office is just a couple blocks away. Needless to say, I'm in that neighborhood several times a week.

There is parking behind the building and overflow parking is often at the Jewish center (can't think of it's name) right next door. Atlanta Ballet across the street sometimes has pay parking available for overflow parking.

Thank you very much! It seems like it'd be a lot of fun and I'm glad my MIL wants to give her an 'experience' rather than more stuff. :)
