Does anyone send their child to school in the system they work in rather than the neighborhood school they live in? If so, how do you feel about it? We live in on e city, but I work for another. It would be more of a convenience for me, but I would like to know what seems to work best.

A teacher I work with lives quite a distance from school. Both of her children attend our school. Her children have friends in their neighborhood. I know her son is active in hockey and soccer in their hometown. The son will be starting middle school in the fall and I will be curious as to how the transition goes.

I have this option and seriously considered it. I decided against it because I think that it's important that DD go to the neighborhood school. :)

Which school is academically stronger?

We decided against it, but not for the reasons mentioned. Both were good schools, so that wasn't an issue for me. My kids really like to get involved with school activities, which could have been inconvenient.

The two school systems are 45 minutes apart. It was really too far for the kids to attend evening activities until we just stayed in the other city.

The deciding factor was the week I was deathly ill and DH was on a business trip. DD would have had to miss school since I was too sick to even drive.

I think we made the right decision now, but it was sure easy to consider not having to pay before and after school care back then!
