For those going soon...they're baaaack...tour groups

I've seen quite a few posts mentioning these groups being at Pop Century now. I'm surprised, because I remember the All Stars as being the likely resorts for these stays.

Anyone mind sharing what Pop sections the groups are staying in? For example, at ASMu, they were often in the back sections - - Broadway, etc.

I think they do try to put them in the back sections. problem is when booking on the phone the CMs don't warn you.. I wish they would. that one July we had the problems at sports, we requested the home run Inn section. had I know this big group was using most of that section, I would have asked for a dif. sectionl even payed for preferred. even when we checked in and were so thrilled with our ground floor room just steps from the pool, the Cm could have mentioned it. it would have made things better.

Beyond that one time I saw two guys doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Animal Kingdom, I've never really seen anything too terrible from a teen group. There's the yelling/chanting and just normal annoying teen behavior, but beyond that grappling incident I've never witnessed anything dangerous like human chains or trying to mow anyone over.

This is the reason I won't go back to All Stars. They tend to book the value resorts and they overtook the place the last time I was there in August. Never again.

You know that Brazil is not the only country in South America & that most of the tour groups are in fact NOT from Brazil, right?

Document bad behavior with your phone as much as possible and put it online (Facebook, Yelp, TripAdvisor). Management will take action when the bad publicity starts to potentially cost them sales. They overhauled the guest assistance passes once that story went viral and mainstream news was showing videos of people hiring disabled people to skip lines.

I have not witnessed the behavior on this thread but I tend to miss things. I am going in August for 10 days and I will say that if anyone yells directly in my ear or slams a soccer ball into my window while I am sleeping, I am afraid I will have a "menopausal moment". This is not pretty.

I doubt they will be at AOA since that is mostly suites.

But they do stay at POP and do cross Generation Gap Bridge and "visit" AoA.

You know that Brazil is not the only country in South America & that most of the tour groups are in fact NOT from Brazil, right?

Most folks refer to ALL groups as Brazilian Tour Groups much like all tissue is called "Kleenex".

I always tell the Super Greeters that I feel sorry for Brazil because they get the blame for ALL the groups!lol

They are not just at the All Stars. Two years ago we stayed at CBR in July and had groups there although we didn't encounter any problems.

Never had a problem with tour groups. Now the cheerleaders. And one year when we stayed at CBR in March the teenage boys were rude and obnoxious. I don't know if it was football or senior trips but it got to the point one night were my XH got up and told them all to shutup and go somewhere else with all of that noise. They scattered quickly.

I have seen the groups and yes the chanting was annoying, haven't really seen the chanting too much anymore and for the most part they are harmless. Just a bunch of kids in WDW having a good time. As long as their space doesn't interfere with my space or my family's space i.e. locking arms a barreling into us I have no issues. I also stay DVC so I really do not see it at the resort at all.

They are obnoxious and very entitled.

It has nothing to do with being a teenager (by the way, not all teenagers are horrors; there are groups of teens in the parks everyday). It is about common courtesy and the BTGs lack it.

These groups are also chaperoned by so called adults who pretend not to speak English. Hundreds of teens being led by a lazy adult will cause chaos.

Several years back I stayed at Pop in July going into August and they were terrors even then. Unfortunately the PC Policing has gotten out of hand as the years have gone by and now they're allowed to do whatever they want.

Frankly I don't know why Disney built a new park in Shanghai and not somewhere in SA. It would've been the best thing for all parties involved.

The economy and politics in South America are a mess, Disney would never build anything under those circumstances, also, do you think building a park in South America will make people from those countries stop coming to Orlando? Wouldn't you want to visit Shanghai if you had the means?
