I booked an internet special rate on SW and thought I got a prettty good deal.($59 .00) Today a ding fare was released for my airports ( not my dates though) and I started thinking if a ding was released in March, for these prices ($44) I could save about $168 dollars. Wow.
I went on Southwest website and it sounds very confusing to me on how to change from an internet special to a ding. I even went through the steps on the refund (cancellation ) page and it says that only $70.00 of my $398 will be refunded, the rest can be used toward credit. Then it says it may take a few days to process the ticketless travel????Is that right?
I thought once you cancell your flight, the credit can be used IMMEDIATELY to purchase a DING fare.Imagine that I cancell my fare and then in the process the DING is sold out?!! Could that happen? It sounds like everyone on the DIS has no problem changing and getting their flights.I really don't want to hold on to SW CREDIT as we are only flying this one time. I want to credit my charge card. Doesn't sound like that's how it works.
Anyone care to give their experience, and perhaps some instuction on how to do this? That is IF a fare is released for my date.
Thanks!
