For the love of churros---those Belle Rose Cups!!!!

Pssssst...You can try the grey stuff at Maurice's Treats. They sell it as a dip for the flavored twists. There is a strawberry and a grey stuff twist.
You can, but it's a (slightly) different version of the grey stuff. At least, it seemed different to me...the flavors were very similar, but the grey stuff at the Red Rose Taverne was thicker (more like a mousse), while the one at Maurice's Treat cart was softer (so you could dip the twist).

The one at the Tavern is basically buttercream frosting "grey stuff".

The dip at Maurice's is more like the original grey stuff mousse from Be Our Guest at WDW.

Interesting...I would have said that the Grey Stuff at the tavern reminded me much more of the one at WDW because the Grey Stuff at Be Our Guest reminded me of buttercream frosting both in terms of taste and texture.

The rose itself does not light up, there is a light in the lid that illuminates the rose. I wouldn't pay $75 for one, but I did get one on Wednesday. The line had two switch backs and then headed towards the (currently closed) pathway to Frontierland. Maurice's Treat Card also had them and that line looped almost back to the cart itself.

My family was trying to guess how many people in the line were there to get the cups for resale and how many were there because they wanted cups. Our guess was that anyone that was buying two per person was in it for the resale, whereas anyone buying just one cup or anyone that was using the cup or had given it to their little ones to play with/hold was probably getting it for the themselves.

Hahaaa, love the beast hat for this pic! Perfect!

Last Wednesday, was in Royal Courtyard to get autograph with Belle who was outside Royal Hall. There as a line for the bakery (Maurice's Treats) there that reached to Main Street. I ask why and was told they have the belle rose tumblers. So while I waited with my granddaughter for Belle, my daughter jumped in the drink line.

20 mins later, I was done with Belle, Tangled was starting in the theater, and daughter was half-way through the line, so I took her place so she could see the show.

14 per, limit 2 per customer there. No AP discount, but discount is available at the tavern.

Technically the rose doesn't light up. The light is in the lid of the cup and shines down onto the rose. I don't see a way to replace the battery when it dies. The light flashes, settings for 4 flash rate, fast to slow.

Why so popular? Wife said get her a cup. I got her a cup.... not my place to ask why.

Thank you for the tip! With only one park day there's no way we'd be able to do the big line!!

They made an announcement to people in line that if they were there to only buy food (no cup) they came at a really, really bad time.

My opinion on the Grey Stuff---it is most certainly NOT delicious, unless you enjoy a mouth full of frosting. There is a little piece of red velvet cupcake deep inside. If you really want a tasty cupcake, head on over to Sprinkles in Downtown Disney. I realize it's not nearly the photo op as the Grey Stuff :P

Did you get the master's cupcake at BOG by chance? I had the little dollop of grey stuff on a plate, before they started serving the cupcake. I imagine the cupcake grey stuff was frosting. Mousse doesn't always hold up as a topping on cupcakes. The dollop I had was very light in texture and definitely mouse-y. The dip at Maurice's reminded me of the mousse.

I hope these are gone when we go in June!! I love that food cart (the bagel twist is the best!) but I won't wait in a line that long. Honestly, that's just downright frustrating that they tie up a food line for people buying a cup.

I'm a sucker for a souvenir cup, but this one isn't that cute! I really hope all this cup hype dies down before my trip!

I don't really understand the need for the cup. I was there on Sunday for the gray stuff and that's definitely worth the 30 minutes I stood in line (5th person in line) before they opened for lunch, but I don't think waiting 2 hours for that cup is at all worth it. 2 hours isn't even worth it for the gray stuff, which is, coincidentally, delicious.

Don't believe me? Ask the dishes!

According to the instructions on the cup, the battery is replaceable, but I haven't tried removing mine yet.

I've had both and both reminded me of buttercream frosting opposed to mousse.

Has the Hype Died down yet? I'm there on the 26-30th and hope we can get one without a crazy line.

In terms of the cup...I doubt the hype will die down until they get a more consistent supply. I was there last week when they had them on Wed and Thu and the lines were still very long. I haven't heard if they've been back in stock this week...

Has anyone been in the tavern lately? How are the lines now?

Well I mean - if anyone wants to buy me a cup, I'll pay what you paid + shipping....
