I have not really done much of this stamping....but my daughter in law makes all of her own all occasion cards......from xmas to birthdays to anniversarys.....what I bought at the stamping party was a little pricey but it was good quality too.......I did notice that at Craft mania ....they now sell the acid free ink and also acid free paper to work with........this supposedly is good quality and lasts longer.....does not smudge......I got my ink pads at the stamping party and they were over three dollars.......but they had an assortment that was unbelievable..........My daughter in law got me a dalmatian stamp and I did get some spring time stamps and also recipe card stamps.....this is fun

I got hooked by someone in my neighborhood...she's a Stampin' Up demonstrator and now I just refer to her as my dealer/pusher

I like her stamps because you can buy kits and when you cost it out it's pretty inexpensive. I do buy my paper at craft stores rather than through her, though, because it's cheaper that way.

DD and I love to stamp. We make all our own cards now as well as wrapping paper and gift bags. She taught us a really cool way to make bags for stamping. If you are interested PM me and I'll try to explain.

I've just started stamping too, and I can tell it will be just as addicting as my scrapbooking hobby! This is not a good thing!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was extremely jealous of the beautiful stamping I have seen others do and wanted to learn how to do it. I wish I would have known you can get kits! I spent $63 in Michael's and didn't even get the embossing heating tool. I went back later and got it. I did get a lot of clearance ribbon, though. And their 12x12 paper was 1/2 off.

Anyway, I got the Versamark stamp pad, embossing powder in white, gold and clear. I already had a stamp pad with 12 colors on it that said it was suitable for embossing. I also got a small paintbrush that someone said was good for wiping excess powder away. I also got a couple of stamps to play around with.

I am hooked! Once I figured out what I was doing, I was very pleased with the results! The white embossing powder on vellum looks especially cool. I think I need rubber stamp cleaner. I read on a web site that baby wipes are not good for cleaning the stamps and the wet paper towel did not do a good job. What do you guys use to clean your stamps?

I clean mine with stuff my pusher -- er stamp lady -- sells. It's a light detergent with rosewater glycerin in it to keep the rubber supple. That's what it says anyway . It does work good. I use it in conjunction with a soft but stiff bristle pad. Basically you spray the stamp, scrub lightly on the pad and it's clean.

She told me you can also use a solution of gentle washing soap (like a baby soap) and water.

with no perfume on them.......and also they have these little things that you go one ways and then another .....and it cleans them super good......WHY not go to a stamping party or host one......then you can get some good ideas and also get some free goods if you do the hosting.......also they have some all day seminars in our area and it costs like 11 dollars for the time spent.....you bring something you want to work on and they assist you.....also bring a lunch...it is a total blast........

Another stamper here! I have been stamping for many years but still consider myself an amateur. I have hundreds of stamps and lots of accessories but little time to use them. I am also a scrapbooker and have been trying to get caught up with my (2) kids books so stamping has been set aside for a while. I hope to get back into it soon. I buy stamps from many different companies and I go to two stamp conventions every year. If you haven't been to one yet they are soooo much fun!!

I use a box of baby wipes to clean my stamps.

The web site I found said the alhocol in the baby wipes would dry out and crack the rubber stamps. You guys haven't had any problems with them?
