For dining ressies, is it 180 days + length of stay to make them if staying on-site?

Someone told me you can book a dining reservation at the 180 day mark + the amount of days your staying at a Disney resort as well. For instance lets say you want to book a ressie on April 17, 2008. 180 days out from that date would be Oct. 20 2007, then add the days of your stay as well say 7 days, would then make you able to book that ressie on Oct. 13th, 2007. Is that correct and does that sound right or is this person nuts lol. They even told me they did their dinner reservations like that for their trip but I am skeptical? I've only done dinner reservations last year well below the 180 days so I don't know if this is true or not. The person told me it is one of the perks to staying at a Disney resort. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's not quite right.

What you can do is start booking reservations for your stay at 180 days out and book for up to 10 days of your stay at that time.

So, in your example of 7 days starting April 17 you would still start booking on October 20 but could make reservations for April 17-23 at that time (April 26 if staying 10 days).

look at it this way if you were staying off site you could call on the 180th day from your arrival date and book that days ADRs ONLY then you would have to call the next day and the next for how ever many days you were staying, say a week, or you could wait a week past that 180 day mark and do them all in one call, BUT IF your are an onsite guest then you may call on that same 180th day from arrival and book your entire stay, up to a ten day stay, on the 180th day from arrival.
