Can anyone who has sold their points recently provide a little info to help those of us who are in the process...

How long between when you listed and when you received an offer?
Which resort?
How many points?
Which broker?

Thanks!

You are more than welcome to call The Timeshare Store, Inc.® and we will be happy to pull up recent listings similar to yours and give you all that information. We are open today (Saturday) until 6 and Sunday 10 to 6. Jerry Sydow is in the office today.

I had four contracts up for sale. Two sold nearly immediately; both were low point contracts (75 OKW points with current points and 100 BCV points with current points). Got $1 less than my asking price. It was about two months until we got our check. We pulled the other two, then listed the one with another reseller. It sat a while (50 point contract) and we got several offers, but none were what we wanted. Finally got an acceptable offer, got all the way through ROFR and the buyer backed out. Got 1/2 of their deposit and listed it again. Same thing happened. Got an acceptable offer, got all the way through to ROFR again, and once again, the buyer backed out. So we got half of their deposit again. We got a few more low ball offers and pulled if off the market.

We didn't really need to sell, we just didn't like the way DVC was headed.

Just curious - why did you only get 1/2 of the deposit when the buyer backed out? Seems like you should get to keep the entire amount. Does the "standard" purchase agreement say only 1/2 the amount is at risk?

Feel free to ignore the question if you'd rather not answer it, LOL.

I sold a small contract VWL (50 points) through the TSS in the winter.

I got an acceptable offer within 24 hours. Buyer didn't follow through within 7 days so we re-listed and got another offer in 24 hours.

All went well. I had a delayed closing so did this in April but closed in August after my vacation.

Good luck!

The selling agent got the other half. I was told they had never had this happen twice on a single contract. And it was unusual to happen once.

Thanks for answering. Makes sense that the agent gets something for his/her work. It does seem unusual for it to happen twice. I wouldn't expect "impulse" buyers to go that far through the resale process, LOL.

I just listed two BWV contracts with TTS.

My smaller ( 50 point ) contract got a full price offer the first day. Then backed out. Apparently the husband offered without talking to the wife first. Relisted and the next day got an acceptable offer, ( amost asking, but I'd left a little wiggle room on my part with the contract ) Faxed back the paperwork, and now the contract is in ROFR.

Second ( 100 ) point contract is still for sale. There are a few of them, so I'm deciding if I want to lower the price vs wait it out.
