For All The Princess Character Meal LOVERS!!!

You are so creative. Those are all really wonderful ideas. I especially love your idea about the Ariel meal and the Snow White one (adorable) and they used to have a Jamine and Aladdin meal in Disneyland, CA. I went when I was young and it was so magical. There was a show and I remember the food was so delicious...there were these flat breads with mint yogurt dipping sauce and I remember there were chocolate genie lamps filled with rasberry mousse and mint leaves on top. I can't believe I remember that but it must have had an impact on me! They also have an Ariel themed meal at California Adventure and it is fantastic. I agree they should have more character meals. Maybe you should send these ideas to Disney...just a thought.

Thank you sooo much! I am glad that you think I am creative:flower3: , I was touched when I read about how that meal years ago had such an impact on you, it is so funny how little things mean so much, and it is true that a magical moment last a life time!I think I am going to send these ideas in along with many others and I hope that all the Dis family send WDW there ideas in, especially the themed meals that have little boys in mind.

I think a character meal in Adventureland would be cool. You could have Mickey and the Gang in their safari outfits, Jane and Turk, Jasmine (for the dads) and Captain Jack (for the moms). They do the face/fuzzy mix at 1900 Park Fair breakfast, so it's not unheard of.
You even could have the restaurant go all the way through to Frontierland so for breakfast have the Adventureland theme open and for lunch have the Frontierland theme open with Woody, Jesse, Bullseye and Brer Rabbit.

I think your ideas are great!! I think that we need to make it a mission to get our ideas heard!! WDW just may listen, you never know untill we try it!

:cloud9: I adore all of your princess dining ideas, they are fabby:worship: ...fingers crossed there are a few Disney employees sitting with pen and paper taking notes.

Another idea I've seen posted on the boards that would be so cool is a pirate character meal with POTC and Peter Pan characters making an appearance appealing to both pirate: & princess: . Please Disney moles take these ideas and run with them.

Oh I am soo glad that you like my ideas :) I do think they are fantastic,I guess I will toot my own horn:) but the ideas that you have are wonderful,My Dis family is just full of creativity,we have got to get these ideas to WDW!

LOVE LOVE LOVE those ideas.....I spend more time trying to get the character meals than anything else...

The pirate meal would also be awesome! ooo what about on P&P party nights? that would be cool too

Love:love: that you  Love my ideas, I think the Pirate meal is great! and with Jack there oh my it would be a true treasure, the pirate meal would appeal to the little boys and the big boys,as well as all the girlie girls!these ideas are so wonderful

I had to smile while reading your suggestions as some of what you suggested is what Disney used to do. :thumbsup2

At one time, when DD19 was in elem school, there was an ariel character breakfast. It was called "Under the Sea". Ariel greeted guests outside in full mermaid regalia on her rock while the rest of the gang circulated inside the Coral Reef.
As you entered the dining area, there were bubble machines set up on each step and at various spots inside so that the air was filled with bubbles for a true under the sea feeling. It was pre-plated at Coral Reef but probably the nicest Character meal we've ever done.

After Mickey and Minnie; then Cinderella; there was a Villians meal offered at 1900 Park Fare a few years back. After a while though, Cinderella returned by popular request.

In MGM, in the building where Playhouse Disney is now, there used to be buffet character meals with Jasmine, Alladdin, Jafar, Snow White, Maleficient, Pocahontas and her cast the year her movie came out (the villian too whose name currently escapes me) and other characters as they released new movies (I remember ones from Hunchback one year too and think Toy Story as well). Peter Pan appeared there at times and Captain Hook, who, with Jafar, was especially scary for young children, scowling down at them in disdain.

It was a terrific and more relaxed, laid back atmosphere - almost casual and very enjoyable - not the rushed, more formal walk thru the line> grab a plate> fill with food> and wait for characters to eventually find you before being ushered out the door that the character buffets of today can sometimes be.

I'll have to try to find some pics. I know have them from each of those mentioned above but probably need to scan as we weren't digital way back then.
A particularily dear one for us is of a day when Meeko got down on the floor to literally roll around and play with DD19 and our friends' DD19. They were in elem school and the friends', now middle school, sister was a baby. We had a late seating that day and Meeko spent a lot of time returning to our table - perhaps charmed by the baby. He was very patient and kept opening and closing his hand in that type of wave that babies learn to do first. By the time we left she had discovered a new talent - waving at every character she saw the whole trip!
Every once in a great while we tell this accomplished young lady the story of how one morning Meeko taught the baby how to wave. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

We LOVED the Villain's Dinner at 1900 Park Fare and were fortunate enough to take our DSs there in 2001, shortly before they changed the characters. Here's a link to our pictures from that dining experience; it's one of our funniest memories of that trip! http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/restsDAY3.htm

Your pics and the captions were wonderful,I bet that meal was so much fun and I know that your little men loved it, I am so confused as to why WDW would stop some of these great meals, it seems that WDW had more variety in Character Meals in the past, I am wondering why they no longer have them, I have heard that another Character meal is about to come to an end, I think it is LTT excuse me if I am wrong! Thanks for sharing you family pics with your Dis Family!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics; I always love looking back at them and remembering the fun we had :) I think your ideas for some new character meals are very creative, and even though my "kids" are big now, I know that *I* still enjoy going to the occasional character meal every few visits! LOL

I don't know why WDW took away some great character meals of the past; maybe they'll bring them back, or bring back some new ones like you've suggested.
