Disneyderns: we live in SW Wisconsin, and visited WDW in October, met raveling with our 5th wheel. We were at Fort Wilderness for 10 days. We are also fortunate to be going back on Dec. 31, for a longer respite from snow and cold. We traveled to Rockford, down to Bloomington, rover to Champaign, down to Mt Vernon, picking up 24, all the way to Chattanooga, then getting on I75. We travelled through Atlanta about 1:30, to about an hour south, and stopped at a "Bates" hotel! Slept for about five hours, then got back on the road for the 7 hour drive to WDW. Avoid Atlanta during morning and evening rush hours. If not in middle of night, then between 10:39 to 2:30 is a better 2nd option. I will tell you that finding a rest stop with open sites for a few hours of shut eye is next to impossible on that route after 9 pm. Our drive was 1325 miles, yours will be longer. Safe drive, good luck, enjoy the magic. On the way home, we stopped east of Chatanooga for a good nights sleep. Too cold coming home to stay in camper.
