We'll be leaving at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning, taking I95 down. Planning on stopping in Savannah, well actually at a Quality Inn in Pooler, Ga. The next day we're going to tour Savannah. We'll have another stay overnight and then we'll be on our way to Disney. :cool1::cool1:

Drive safe!!!!! Have fun.

Well with the price of airline tickets, it looks like our family is driving to WDW at the end of March - all the way from GB Packer country. I'm a little nervous about it as we are going to try and push it hard to get there...right now we plan on leaving at 5PM on Friday and drive through the night and most of the next day to hopefully arrive by 4PM on Saturday. I will drive first while my wife sleeps and then at some point we will switch...the route isn't planned yet, and would love any advice from anyone who has driven from WI. Family includes DW, DS - 6, DD - 13.

Disneyderns: we live in SW Wisconsin, and visited WDW in October, met raveling with our 5th wheel. We were at Fort Wilderness for 10 days. We are also fortunate to be going back on Dec. 31, for a longer respite from snow and cold. We traveled to Rockford, down to Bloomington, rover to Champaign, down to Mt Vernon, picking up 24, all the way to Chattanooga, then getting on I75. We travelled through Atlanta about 1:30, to about an hour south, and stopped at a "Bates" hotel! Slept for about five hours, then got back on the road for the 7 hour drive to WDW. Avoid Atlanta during morning and evening rush hours. If not in middle of night, then between 10:39 to 2:30 is a better 2nd option. I will tell you that finding a rest stop with open sites for a few hours of shut eye is next to impossible on that route after 9 pm. Our drive was 1325 miles, yours will be longer. Safe drive, good luck, enjoy the magic. On the way home, we stopped east of Chatanooga for a good nights sleep. Too cold coming home to stay in camper.

I see gas has found a way to inch its way back up for the holiday. :sad2:

everyone on the road this week, stay safe and watch the weather!! :thumbsup2

TICKER CHECK!!!!!!!

TOMORROW WILL 22 DAYS!!!!! :cool1:

the car is ready to go. got most of what we are taking, including the 4 foot Christmas tree loaded !!!!!! we haven't stayed Christmas eve night since 2007 and looking forward to it again. I love waking up Christmas morning and having coffee on the balcony of a one bedroom at old key west and watching the palm trees. they can keep there white Christmas up north. :rotfl:

dw and I had to laugh the other morning, briana was grumbling that it was "cold". :lmao: I told her it was 19 degrees and windy here at home. it was a cool 61 at her apartment. :lmao: she was all bundled up in a hoodie. I guess eight months in florida will do that to you.:lmao:

We are at 4 days. Just got the car detailed on Saturday. Also have new brakes, tires and alignment. Car will get packed after Thanksgiving dinner.

less then 24hrs until we leave for our first family trip from pa to the world. Hoping I can get a good night sleep tonight for the long drive.

We are just under 28 hours also from PA. Can we catch you?

I will try and remember to post some updates...let you know how far behind you are.

Not sure what route you are taking...because of where I am having dinner for Thanksgiving, planning on doing the 95 route on way down. Thanks to all the info from dvczerfs, plan on taking inland route on way home.

Safe travels!!!
