watching the weather, its not gonna get any warmer anytime soon. next week is getting colder.:scared1: i had jeans, shirt, swt. shirt and a wind breaker on today and it was about 40 when we got into mk at 8am.:lmao:on the news this morning walmart and target sold out of gloves and hats. gas wass anywere from 2.85 to 2.95 on tuesday. leave your shorts at home. the good news is, theres not a drop of rain anywere to be had.:thumbsup2

We just saw the 10-day forecast. So true about the colder weather. Still, shorts will be in one of our suitcases. Perhaps not as many pairs as our last visit. :upsidedow

All the best! :thumbsup2

A great photo, but what's with the jeans? Oh yeah, we know: the FL cold front! Hi temp today of 65, say the local weather folks.
We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Lake Buena Vista last night after 18 hours on the road. We're getting ready to drive over the GF, which we believe is somewhat different from the Holiday Inn! ;)
We hope to cross paths with you this week.
All the best. :thumbsup2

Yes, they look mighty cold! At least they aren't shoveling 2 feet of the white stuff, like we have had here this week. Wish we were there with them. :cool2:

We just came home yesterday from our Disney trip. We drove from Michigan and it wasn't bad at all. We already plan to go back in a couple years and drive again.

We drove from Southeast MI leaving our house at 4:15am and arriving in Macon, GA at 6:30pm. We did get stuck in Atlanta traffic for about 30 minutes and that sucked! We seemed to average a bathroom stop every 2 hours because of the kids. We just combined those stops with gas and/or food as needed.

The following day it took us about 6 hours to arrive to our hotel (PO Riverside). We probably added on 30 minutes to our drive looking for some fast food restaurant open for lunch. It was Thanksgiving Day.

We made it home in 19 hours 10 minutes. We hadn't planned on driving straight thru but one of our 5 years got sick a couple times in the car and we thought it was best to get home ASAP in case the other kids got sick as well.

Howdy! Shorts today and tonight (but a sweater added in the p.m.). No one at the frozen margarita stand. Hmm.
Will try and get in touch tomorrow if possible.
Enjoy!

hi bc, ill be in epcot in the am, and the mk at night tomorrow.(tuesday):thumbsup2

We just returned from a week at WDW. We left about 5 am on the Fri after Thanksgiving. We had no traffic. Delaware was fine. We drive 95 through PA into DE and no problems. One thing we did notice in MD, were the overhead "report suspicious activity" all though the state going to WDW and on our return on Sunday. I thought it odd since no mention on what was being looked for! Now it makes more sense that Walmart has signs for this as well! Anyone know about the MD signs? Just wondering. Well the first day or two we wore long pants. Mon and Tues were warm enough for shorts even for the evening. After that very chilly and at night down in the high 30's Sunny days so not that bad even though long pants we wore! Now freeze warnings I heard on the Weather channel. All in all a good trip. We stopped in Port Wentworth, GA both ways. Stayed at the Days Inn on the exit. Only traffic was on Sun night driving home-bad accident on 95 just north of Washington DC.

We are leaving on Friday morning!:cool1: This is the first time we are driving down. We plan to leave our home in MD @ 2am Friday morning and looking to stop in Kingsland, Ga. DH found a Microtel we are going to aim for. Then finish the drive the next day. Does this sound feasible? TIA

Yes, we left central NJ at about 5 am on Fri after Thanksgiving. We stayed in Port Wentworth, GA (exit 109) We stopped for gas/food and arrived at about 7pm. You are leaving from further south than we did so no problem! We left Port Wentworth at about 7:30 am and arrived at WDW after 1pm.

As an aside, we noticed 'report suspicious activity' signs all through MD on the way down and on our return. Do you know what that is all about? just wondering.

It is funny you asked that, I asked my DH the same thing the other day. He seems to think it is the default. There is one on Route 100 that has it on day and night. It will change if there is an Amber or Silver alert of some kind.

I owuld love to find out if anyone really knows for sure why...

Thanks for the info! We are one big ball of excitement and nerves! LOL

You are quite welcome! Don't worry. There wasn't much roadwork DE was the only place and we didn't even have an issue there. If you ever figure it out about the sign please pOst. Wi didn't think that much into those signs except when I heard on the news that those same signs are in WALMARt!! Thanks again ane have a great trip

It's strange to be saying farewell to this board before I could officially call myself a member. DH and I have been planning on doing our trek from Boston to WDW in April because traditionally, the cost of airfare is just sky high. But, we also decided on a flight cost that we'd be willing to pay because it would be the equivalent (or close to) the driving costs and the 48 hours of driving.

Much to my surprise, we were able to find a flight today under that cost and the times are perfect for us. So, while I was looking forward to this journey, we've decided that this trip is not the right time for us to do it. I'll be 7 months pregnant, we'll have an almost 5 year old in the car, and, we are in a hurry to get down for my sister's wedding.

I'll be sure to find this thread when we do decide to make this journey.

I wish you all safe travels and great times in our favorite place. I've enjoyed reading your posts and have learned quite a bit for future trips.

Take care!

We just returned early this morning from our trip to Disney. We left PA at 4:45pm on Wednesday. Much to my surprise we hit no rush hour traffic through DC. We had a little traffic in VA due to an accident on the left and a disabled vehicle on the right within about a 3 mile stretch. We pulled into Boardwalk at 9:15am after 2 meal stops.

Coming home we left around 10am on Tuesday morning and pulled into the driveway at 2:25am with 1 meal stop and a few stretch/snack stops.
