We were hoping to jump in line for FOP at park close. Will this strategy work if there is an After Hours Event at the park that evening?

You can get in line right up until park closing time, just as any regular night. So yes, that strategy will work fine. While you’ll encounter some influence from DAH goers, many wait until later in the evening to do FoP, so it’s not like the entire DAH guest count is there at park closing getting on with you.
