i just read somewhere that FOP was built to have a single rider line. Is there any talk of this being utilized?

They are probably talking about the end of the queue right before you go into the show room, where there is a short line where they put single riders in.
As for the queue itself, there is no single rider line like RnC, EE, TT, etc.

One was built, but never used.

Any ideas why it hasn’t been utilized ? This could help a little with the lines and every little bit helps!

They actually handle the filling of empty seats well at the loading station right now. Maybe if it ever becomes too much for those employees they may start but I think there would be so many people using it ........ it would become a big job to make sure they are loaded to fill, but not together or they lose control.

Yeah I agree,it would be a really long singles line, when the standby is regularly up to two hours people would take their chances with the singles,in the future they should still consider adding it.

I don't think single rider lines work all that well. I travel solo often and in all single rider lines I've stood in there are groups of friends/family in line hoping for less wait time.

Everest seem to work okay. Most of the time Test Track single rider works. Most of the time RnR single rider is just as long as stand-by.

As HopperFan said, I see the CM's asking at the loading station and pulling single riders to a separate line. Even when I FP as a solo I get pulled out of the line and into a "single rider" line once I get into the loading area. Seems to work well. I have yet to see five or six people all together raise their hands as "single riders" using that method.

I really hate when these family/groups do this and then a lot of them want the CM to keep them together or will do the "I didn't know" routine when they get to the front:mad: I will have to say, one time the CM was getting ready to let this family all go and my DH had enough and spoke up and once he did so did the other people in line. The CM did what he should of done in the first place and treated them like single riders. They were not happy, but the people in our line were:)

I would totally like having the "single rider" line close to the loading station on every ride, and just have them ask for single riders.

FOP doesn't need a single rider line as the CM's have plenty of time to fill in all the spaces with even/odd number parties (same with the new slinky dog coaster).

Also - single rider line is not just for solo travelers but for any guest who is willing to ride alone in order to fill in empty seats. It is not abuse for a group or family to use SRL, until/unless they aren't actually willing to spilt up.

We are a party of 3 and since one of us always ends up with someone from another party or a single rider anyway we often use SRL. In our experience it works really well on Everest and TT but not as well on RnRc :)

Soarin and Toy Story Mania had single rider lines when they opened but were shortly discontinued.

Never knew about a single line for FoP.
I would agree that the CMs do a great job filling in empty spaces at the loading stations.

I don't mind seeing groups in the single rider line as long as they realize they will be split up.

Maybe it's been a while but it always felt like the FoP CMs were trying to do advanced calculus on their little iPads. I never could tell why it took them so long to load up the bays.

I am solo most of my trips, and for some reason the single rider lines at Universal work better than the few at Disney. EE single works well, I don't ride TT or RnR every trip. I do find that as a solo I can get pulled out early for ToT, Space Mtn, and Soarin, as well as that bit on FOP.

Agree that universal does it better.

RnR is a nightmare. I refuse to do that one single rider.

Glad he spoke up. Some of the CMs don't want the confrontation (so they shouldn't work merge) but having guests speak up for them likely helps.

Probably because guests try to use the system to gain an advantage is why Disney hasn't moved forward with formal single rider. Easy enough to ask for parties of 1 or 2. They were doing it on Slinky Dog and it was easy to move forward. We've done it on lots of the rides.

I don't have a problem with groups in the single rider lines as long as they don't expect to ride together.

I laugh as one of the best parts of Test Track is watching those CMs tell people they are splitting them up. Seen some great moments, especially when they see a car with two spots but they pull a couple out of the regular line and make singles wait.

I think Soarin' still does a good job of filling all the seats, they pull folks down the line every time we go. TSM would send two or less up the right stairs then use singles/doubles to fill the seats. I think the problem is families were not happy about a stranger next to them. I get it since if it's with a kid and behind them, they can't see them.

Never knew about a single line for FoP.

FoP was built with a single rider line but it never opened with the ride.

Right, but many try to work the system to ride together after a shorter wait, so becomes more work for CMs.

That line is always crazy long. I've seen lots of those folks try to jump in seats together at load. It takes sharp and fast CMs to keep that load working correctly. Once saw them stop the load and walk right up to two guys and make one get out of the line.

IMO single rider lines should only ever be used when they put a single rider onto a ride vehicle, and not 2 or more at a time regardless of how long people have been waiting. This would stop groups even going into the lines and true single riders wouldn't see an increase in wait.

Anyone notice that FOP single rider line is also the FP line at some points ( I hope that made since) it’s like Keats see if this works then relies nope people with out a FP will go in saying they are single rider when in fact they will then say they are FP inside
