foods you used to love but can't find anymore

The Donuts were Mortons. They had glazed and also jelly with granulated sugar.

The last "specialty" limited edition bag of Starbursts I bought had the Lime ones. I think it was tropical mix or caribbean. They are also in their "Baja California" mix. I have a bag of those right now! WalMart stocks them.

Oh yes I remember the jelly ones too!!! It was filled with jelly and when you took a bit the warm jelly would squirt out the other side. LOL They were good.

Someone else told me the Lime Starburst were back. I haven't seen them yet I will really keep my eye out for them. I loved the lime starburst. Sometimes I would eat a lime and lemon one at the same time.

I can't believe I forgot this one; I even mentioned it in another thread about Cheetos recently. I miss Planters Cheez Curls and Cheez Balls (but mainly the Curls). They're SO much cheesier and just...BETTER than Cheetos are! I wish I knew why they quit making 'em. I didn't even know they had, because I hadn't really wanted them in a few years, but I found out when I went to the store and they were nowhere to be found. :sad2:

The last time I saw them on the shelves they were only in the "drug" type stores, like CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens. I don't know if they still stock them there or not. :confused3

Oooh, also there was a candy bar by Quaker Oats, it was chocolate and granola, called Dips. And Pink Swimingo Kool-Aid.

OMG, I used to down both of those things by the truckload when I was a kid! Wow, I'd forgotten all about them.

Quaker Q-Snacks and Q-Smart Bars. Quaker still makes them, but i can't find a store anywhere in NE AL or near the NE AL/GA border that carries them.

"Oh and I am still mad they changed the formula in Alphabits!!!!! I LOVED Alphabits as a kid, ate them all the time. Picked up a box months back and it tasted like cardboard!!!!!! I am not kidding! They were gross!!"

They used to be frosted. Now they aren't. They're healthier, but taste like cardboard.

Mrs. Pauls Fish Cakes. Can't find them anymore on Long Island.

That reminds me of another one...Mrs. Paul's shrimp bowls. I used to LOVE the shrimp alfredo one, and the Gorton's ones just aren't the same.

I liked the Deviled Crab Cakes. Last time I looked, Gorton's stuff was pushing out all the Mrs. Pauls. I wonder if they bought them out?

DW and I used to love those Great Starts scrambled eggs and sausage breakfasts. They were absolutely awful for you, but sooo good. When they re-branded them (to Aunt Jemima?) they reformulated them, and they're not as good any more.

Oh, wow...I had completely forgotten about those, but I LOVED them when I was in HS. The French toast & sausage one was my favorite. Those were awesome; I don't care how bad they may've been for me.

My DH would say Beer Chasers made by Educator. We also miss the Mint Chocolate Bryers Vianetta (sp). There was also this berry flavored water by Adoriandak (sp) that we used to by at the Big Apple Store a few towns over. Usually once we find something that we get hooked on they stop making it. Go Figure.

There was also some kind of microwave mac 'n' cheese I used to buy in college that--honest to God--was the best mac 'n' cheese I have ever had.

I remember as a kid there being mac & cheese that all you did was add HOT WATER to, stir and wait 3 mins. It was very simular to they way the ramon cups are today.

I also miss franco american canned mac and cheese.

I need to go to Walgreens for something anyway and was thinking about putting it off till tomorrow...not any more! Thanks for the info, even if they don't have 'em. It gives me hope that maybe they're still being made, at least.

I hope you are successful! Those are the last places I remember ever seeing them. The supermarkets haven't had them in awhile. I used to buy them a lot before I cut down on my salt. They were cheesier than the others. As a last resort, you could try the Planters website. Maybe you can order some! :goodvibes

When I was little, my mom used to always buy the Cheez Balls when we were going to take a trip to FL in our camper. I remember smashing 2 or 3 of them together to make little cheesy snowmen, and then shoving them in my mouth whole.

Good thought on the site...I just might give it a try! :thumbsup2

Vienetta...Mmmmm.

I thought I saw this in a store recently...I could be wrong or I probably would have bought it.

Yep, I have some. They are Retro ones. They have a mango one in it too & I don't like mango but there is a melon kind & it is yummy & some kind of berry one that I don't like either.

Beaver Tails!

They used to sell those in Epcot's Canada pavilion.
