foods you used to love but can't find anymore

Foods I miss:

Swiss Cheese Crackers (by the same company that makes Better Cheedars)
McRib (we don't see it here in my part of PA anymore)
Franco American Mac & Cheese (canned and white)
Barber Foods Bacon & Cheese Stuffed Chicken Nuggets

I have seen Cheez Waffles for sale in my area on a regular basis. They are so yummy!

How about the old Nacho Cheese Doritos -- you know, before they were "nacho cheesier"? God I used to love Doritos ... but when they remade them, they became so salty and so overpowering that now I can only eat a few at a time ('course that's probably a good thing).

I bought some generic (Kroger brand) nacho cheese chips the other day and they were quite reminiscent of the old doritos!

There's a *really good reason* you people can't find this stuff any more. :crazy2: You could nearly vomit just reading the descriptions of some of this mess. :rotfl:

lol ... you might actually be on to something there. My theory is that some of these "great" foods of the past that mysteriously dissapeared did so b/c they have enormous amounts of saturated/trans fat (or other gross things) and the manufacturer couldn't figure out how to remake them using better fats w/o losing the taste. Course back in the day none of us cared about all that and were completely clueless ...

I know there are a few not-totally-disappeared but hard to find items, like Bugles and Pudding Pops, are surprisingly pretty disgusting (in terms of fats) when you take a look at the label.

Pop Chips. They were made by Popsecret and they were popcorn molded into chips. So yummy. I remember eating those by the pool as a kid.

I love strawberry cranberry juice. Which, is marketed everywhere but my part of the country. I can't find it anywhere.

Chips Ahoy used to make chocolate chip cookies that had fudge on the bottom and striped in lines across the cookie. Keebler Chips Deluxe has something similar, but nowhere near the same. I ate them as a kid and thought they were like little pieces of heaven. :cloud9:

FrankenBerry?

I can get Count Chocula in every store, but there is no Frankenberry. Now why is that? :confused3

Fudge Town cookies.
There are others that look similar, but none are the same :sad2:

I had heard Burry's (of NJ?) who also used to produce cookies for the Girl Scouts sold the recipies off to Dare in Canada. They have a number of cookies that suspiciously look like the old Burry's cookies:

Yup. Dare's Fudge Cookies are the old Fudgetowns. Most supermarkets have them now, usually tucked away somewhere.

I remember (I'm going back a LONG time) Bugs Bunny Cookies. They came in a box. Creme filled sandwich cookies. They were so good I can still taste them.

I also miss:
Mortons Frozen Jelly Donuts
Reggie Bars
Big John's Beans n' Fixins' (there were two separate cans. One had the baked beans and the other had onions and bacon bits in a sweet brown sugar sauce)
Pepperidge Farms Molasses Crisp Cookies

FrankenBerry?

I can get Count Chocula in every store, but there is no Frankenberry. Now why is that? :confused3

Not only did I see Frankenberry at my WalMart a while back, I also saw Boo Berry! I swore they stopped making that a long time ago.

I did not know I missed Fudge Towns until this tread. Now I remember and I want one!!!

At Christmas time, I used to buy boxes of ice cream gingerbread men with vanilla ice cream filling - I haven't seen them in years - Oh where oh where have the gingerbread icecream men gone??? :confused3

Oh Yeah I almost forgot....

Frank N' Stuff Cheese Hot Dogs.

It was like a hot dog wrapped around a thin cylinder of yellowish american cheese. Quite unlike the Oscar Meyer Cheese Dogs.

I onl had them once but man I wish I could get them now.

I'm sure it would put me into anabolic shock now, but Smurfberry Crunch was the best cereal ever when I was a little kid. hahaha

Not really a food, but, I miss the soft crushed ice that so many restaurants/fast food places used to serve in their drinks. The only place I've found it recently is Sonic Burger. (and the closest one to us is 20 minutes away!) I'll go there and order two cups of just ice! :lmao:

Sonic sells ice for $1 a bag. Half our freezer is filled with bags of Sonic ice.

Not only did I see Frankenberry at my WalMart a while back, I also saw Boo Berry! I swore they stopped making that a long time ago.

They probably did stop making it a long time ago, but that stuff probably has an indefinite shelf life. :rotfl:

Oooh, also there was a candy bar by Quaker Oats, it was chocolate and granola, called Dips. And Pink Swimingo Kool-Aid.

I loved the cheeto paws too,

there was this pudding pie made by hostess, I really loved them

Im pretty bummed about the HC ice cream too

I miss the nutri grain bannana muffin bars too

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this food yet or not but I miss Kellogg's Tiger Power cereal. It was marketed for kids and it had whole grain and was made with less sugar.

I even e-mailed the company. I haven't checked to see if it's come back yet, but I sure do miss that stuff. I used to eat a box of it a week.

I can't find my favorite pop-tarts anymore. I LOVE frosted grape. They were gone for years, then Meijer had them for a while, but discontinued them. They were the only poptarts I would eat!

I was looking for grape Pop-Tarts the other day. Don't tell me that they are discontinued!!!:sad1:
