Food & Wine Tell us what you booked

Ack! What a morning I had!
I was only on hold about 15 or so minutes, but it took just over an hour from the time the CM answered the phone until I finally gave up after 10 event dates and needed to drive to work.
Yes, I got a gal who at first told me the reservations hadn't yet opened for booking and that I should check the website.

Here's what I ended up with:

9/28 Cook Book Bottle
9/28 Food Wine Pairing Coral Reef
9/30 Jiko Signature Lunch (fortunately my friend took care of booking this)
10/12 Cook Book Bottle
10/12 Exquisite Evening (Tuscan Renaissance)
10/13 Cheese Tasting (Spain)
10/14 Sweet Sundays
10/31 Food Wine Pairing Seas Salon
11/1 Kitchen Conversations
11/4 Kitchen Conversations

California Grill signature dinner on 10/14 was sold out by the time my CM actually found the event (she kept trying to book me into a regular california grill reservation). The Bordeaux Exquisite Evening on 11/2 was sold out by the time I gave up on the CG signature dinner. I'm hoping an available spot opens up in either/both of those for me.

I will be adding in PFTS on 9/29, 10/13, 11/3 at the end of the month.

Called at 7AM - Not open yet
Hit redial, went through the WDW dine prompts
On hold for 25 minutes
Did not get Le Cellier 2/26 (Lucky you - katypop and bigalnomore)
did get second choice F&WP in ITaly 10/28
Will be at PFTS 10/27 bught haven't bought those tickets yet

Sorry you missed out on Le Cellier:guilty: I tried to get this two years ago, my 1st visit during the W&F festival and missed it then too. Last year I had my dd and her df ( her dh now :goodvibes ) with me so we only did a couple of events. This year I'm solo again and am really excited to get my choices, I'm going on my 1st cruise in May 08 so will not be able to attend Oct08 :sad2: Maybe I'll see you at PFTS on 10/27:)

This is the first year they have done Parings in the Seas Salon. We did Coral Reef last year and there was no seafood in any of our 3 samples. I had hoped for some too:)

We did the Coral Reef Pairing last year, and had seafood in both the appetizer and the entree. Really yummy, too! We had shrimp and mahi in the appetizer and crab and scallop in the entree.....

Hope you get some this time!

Party 4 the Senses 9/29 :woohoo:
South African Wine Event 10/12 :yay:
Italy Food & Wine Pairing 10/14 :drinking1
Party 4 the Senses 10/27 :cheer2:

PFTS 10/13

This is all we wanted this year, prices are just too high now.
Can't wait for PFTS! :cool1:

I am going to miss having my DIS buddy giggling next to me during my Signature Dinner. I'm glad you were able to get your choices! This year is my year to miss out on Le Cellier. I am lucky I managed to attend it a couple of years in a row a few years ago, before it became too popular. :)

I'm so sorry you won't be with us! We've been to all the Food & Wine Festivals lucking into the first one in October, 1996 and moving to Orlando in September 1997...

We didn't start doing the special events until 2005 but now we can't get enough! Maybe we'll bump into you around World Showcase that weekend!

This is the first year DH and I have booked a special event. We went with the South African wine event on 10/12. I think it sounds awesome! Can't wait...:woohoo:

That Signature Dinner was my very 1st W&F event and it was so much fun sharing the experience with you :goodvibes Sorry I'll miss you this year, but I'm sure you'll have fun with your "clan" :)

Am I the only one that worries about the new policy concerning festival events?

***Event cost is charged in full at time of booking.***
Changes/refunds are not allowed. Non-transferable.
Must attend on the event day and time booked.

In the past you had the ability to cancel 48 hours in advance (if my memory is correct) but now you're stuck should something happen that would require you to cancel/change your plans. I could understand something more than 48 hours maybe 31 days like DVC reservations.

We are all booked for 10/6 PFTS :)

PFTS 10/20

This is our 5th F&W festival, but the first time we are doing a special event.

Has anyone found out about the Sushi, Saki, and Sashimi events? Are they taking bookings yet?

Did anyone book the Regional Feast "Oklahoma: A Centennial Celebration" on Nov. 7?

We got most everything we wanted:

10/5 - Exquisite Evening (Caymus!)
10/6 - Cheese Tasting: Italy
10/6 - PFTS
10/7 - Discovering Wine (Citricos with Caymus and Conundrum!)
10/8 - Waiting for Sake, Sushi and Sashimi to open
10/9 - V&A Chef's Table (talking parents for their 30th wedding anniversary)
10/10 - Waiting for Regional Feast: Mexico
10/11 - F&W Pairing at Coral Reef
10/12 - South African Wine Event
10/13 - PFTS

The Sake/Sushi F&W Pairing is not open for booking yet. The problem is with the restaurant. You may know the Japanese restaurant area is being redone. The date got pushed back, and they're not sure it'll be ready in time. We'll keep checking, and I'll post when we hear anything different.

We also haven't been able to book the Regional Feast for Mexico, which doesn't make sense. All of the other Regional Feasts are open. Not sure what they're waiting on, but we're still checking on that one, too.

We're really thrilled that we're going to two events with one of our favorite vintners - Caymus, and also Conundrum which split off from them. Plus, we're hoping they'll be at PFTS on the 6th.
