Hi... We are heading back to Disney for our son's birthday and for the MNSSHP in October. We didn't realize the food & wine festival will be at Epcot when we made our reservations. We only plan to go to Epcot once during our trip. A Wednesday. We really only care about getting on Soarin, Test Track and eating (a counter-service).

So, who has been there for the festival? Does it get really crowded in World Showcase? Does the entire park get more crowded? Can we except really long lines? We were there in May during the flower show and the lines were much longer than usual and did not get on Soarin (fast not available). Where should we eat? What should we look to do and stay away from with two small kids? Tell me all, PLEASE!

Thank you!!!!!

My DH and I were there last October, Friday - Sunday. Friday seemed fine - we didn't try to ride many rides though. I would definitely go to Epcot on weekday - Saturday was much more crowded. If I had young kids, I would stay away from World Showcase as much as possible - it's really where all the specialty food booths are. And this is an adult event, with a lot of alcohol consumption. We didn't see anyone over-drinking, but you might not want to tempt your kids with all the food NOT on the dining plan and expose them to the people drinking wine, beer, etc. anymore than necessary. JMHO

We were there during the Food & Wine Fest last year. It's now my favorite time of year to go.
Avoid Epcot on the weekend. That's when it gets crowded. I think we were first there on a Sunday and didn't go to one booth because the lines were way too long. We returned on Tuesday and had very short lines for the food, andthe ride lines weren't so bad.

Definitely do the Nemo ride. In October as long as you aren't tehre on a weekend, you should definitely be able to get an FP for soaring.
