FOOD, WINE, AND SANDERSON SISTERS OH MY!

All caught up again. Well done on finding Remy and claiming your prize. World Showcase is my favourite place to be :goodvibes
Looking forward to hearing about your B&C dinner. No Way Jose is my fave dessert from there. Yum!

I find myself going back to Epcot more and more. I still need to try No Way Jose but it is something I really want.

What a great day, rain and all!
We did a few scavenger hunts the last few years and really enjoyed it!
This year it was all about cheese 🧀 for us!
Excited to see what you thought about B&C, I like it but not anything I need to hurry back to,

I feel the same but for my youngest it’s most do every trip though it’s mostly for the ice-cream so I think I could persuade him to just go to the take out window next time. Our table server there on our last trip was grim 😔. Usually it’s great. Food was tasty though and dessert was devine 😋
Looking forward to hearing about your experience Vanessa.

It was Disney so of course it was a great day.

I like them too. It make you really look around.

Cheese is a very yum!

Excited to see what you thought about B&C, I like it but not anything I need to hurry back to,

We have been back. Danielle goes often. It's her go to resort place to eat.

It is so good!

Someday! Danielle just recently had it.

Looking forward to hearing about your experience Vanessa.

I'm hoping to get some time tonight to post.

Only 1 more sleep and Danielle will be here. Her plane lands at 7:05 am!

Epcot & Beyond. Saturday, October 10,2020

When we last left off, Michelle and I were headed back to the front of the park to retrieve our bags and a fresh set of clothes. We left Danielle parked in Canada watching the movie since once again "Danielle can't hang".

We did stop on our way back to the front of the park for some Photo Pass pictures. Michelle is always my partner in crime when it comes to taking more photos. Please excuse our sweaty appearances but do know we did get freshened up later. I also really needed photos with the ball since I was dressed as the ball.

After retrieving our bag we made our way back to Danielle. We were all really looking forward to our first meal at Beaches and Cream. Our girls trip was the perfect time to try it out. I could never get Dennis to agree to eat here, plus getting a reservation was always hard. I think it's a little easier since the refurbishment that helped to make it a little bigger. We also usually had the dining plan in the past and B & C isn't the best use of a table service credit but it is reasonable when paying out of pocket.

The boat transportation from Epcot to the resorts was not running so we knew we would be walking. Michelle and her crew had a horrible experience walking from DHS to the Yacht Club so we were worried about how far a walk it would be since we had never done it. The maps all showed that it wasn't very far from the International Gateway, the Yacht Club is a lot further from DHS. It wasn't that bad of a walk but it was uphill. The beauty of the walk helped make up for the steepness.

We made our way to B&C and then tucked into the restroom to freshen up. This was the bathrooms near the pool area so they were big and made for people needing to change. How many times have we heard of people getting to the resort, changing and swimming until their room was ready or swimming until they needed to change to check their ride to the airport. I'm very sorry to say we did not get any photos of our freshened look except for some Michelle got later that night.

We checked in to wait for our table and I grabbed some photos of the outside. I just loved the outside table and chairs, but not enough to want to sit outside to eat. I was all about the AC.

Once we were called in we made ourselves comfortable and checked out the menu online. It was such a cute restaurant. The tables were spaced apart due to social distancing. I know this really limited numbers of reservations but it really was nice not to be sitting on top of other people. Disney really does like to put as many people as possible is a small area.

The jukebox wasn't running due to covid protocols too.

1666971110839.png

After looking over the menu we all ordered something different. Michelle had the grilled chicken sandwich. I had the Rueben with fries and Danielle had the grilled ham and cheese with watermelon. She has been back here quite a few times and usually gets the tomato soup, but watermelon on a hot day really hit the spot. I enjoyed my Rueben and would get it again. I'm a sucker for a good Rueben. Michelle enjoyed her grilled chicken and she was the only one who left any room for dessert. I really wanted the No Way Jose but did not have enough room. We did all share Michelle's treat. It was the Fall special milkshake with a cupcake on top. We all helped her but still did not finish it all.

After dinner we split up. Michelle had plans to hit Disney Springs the next day while we did Animal Kingdom. Her flight was a little earlier than our flight. She was ready to head back to the resort. She made her way back to Epcot to catch a bus back to Kidani. I'm really hoping I get her to post about her experience because it was quite a night for her.

Danielle and I went to the Beach Club bus stop and caught a bus to DS.

1666971984706.png
It was a Saturday night so of course DS was busy. I had read several accounts of DS being more crowded than the parks and some mask not being worn. It was a lot harder to control mask compliance there than in the parks. We did see several people without masks and it was more crowded than what he had experienced so far in the parks. It seemed so crowded back then but looking back it's was nothing compared to what it is now.

We did some shopping but or course not all the stores were open. We spent most of our time in World of Disney. There were lines to get into all the stores and a wait. I took a few phots but not many. I will say that the Home pillow did come back with us and Danielle has it with her in Orlando.

Once we had made our purchases and had had enough of the crowds, we headed back to Kidani. Michelle made it back before us but not by much time. We all started getting ready for the next day and started packing up. While we were relaxing in our beds Michelle made the decision she just had to go to AK with us the next day. She purchased a one day ticked and make a park reservation. Luckily she had purchased the perfect shirt to wear to AK from the Kidani shop. We were so happy she would be with us in the park. I know it was a hard choice for her since she would miss out on shopping. I stayed up a little later than her and saw that AK would be opening a hour earlier. I woke her up and asked if she wanted to try and get there for the new opening time. She said no so nobody made in adjustments to getting up earlier. Would this mess up our touring plans for the day? Stay tuned to find out.

I'm glad you were able to try Beaches and Cream. I'm sure, if nothing else, getting out of the heat and having some space to breathe was wonderful. It's amazing what a reset that can be on a busy park day.

I'm sure DS was a different world than the parks back then!

Love your photos with SE and they were definitely a must as you rocked that look! I’m glad you all enjoyed your B&C dinner and at least managed to share a wee nibble of Michelle’s dessert. Next time you’ll have to go just for icecream so you can try the No Way Jose. Does Danielle get staff discount when she eats at Disney restaurants? I imagine eating out takes a fair chunk of her wage but it must be so much fun to try all the different places. I’d love that!
Looking forward to hearing about Michelle’s night and love that you all get to go to AK together before your journey home. Hopefully the early opening doesn’t have a negative impact on your plans.
I was thinking of you all yesterday as I decided to watch the original Hocus Pocus on Disney + before I watch the new movie tomorrow.

We were in France and it was time for some more food. Michelle and I headed to the F&W booth and Danielle headed into L'Artisan des Glaces. I got the LaVie en Rose Frozen Slushy and Michelle got some champagne and the Brioche Cake. As we were walking away to meet Danielle, the heavens opened up and it started raining. We tried to go to a little table under an overhang but we were still getting really wet. Here's my poor Slushy.
Oh dear!
It was getting late and we needed to head to dinner at Beaches & Cream soon. We made our way to Port of Entry to get our prize. I think it was a cup left over from Flower & Garden. Michelle did some shopping and I think she got a few things. I'm pretty sure she picked up some stuff in Italy for Jimmy and the kids earlier in the day. Danielle had once again reached her breaking point. We needed to walk back to the front of the park to get our bags from the lockers and change clothes. We parked Danielle in Canada Far & Wide and made the walk back to the front. The ac was just what she needed.
Sometimes the heat and humidity just gets overwhelming. AC is a good pick me up.

I hate the phrase "fill in all available space!"

It was the perfect break from the heat and crowds.

It was so different. The whole experience was so different than before Covid.

Thank you! I was proud to represent the ball.

We really need to go just to get ice cream. The No Way Jose has been on my list for awhile.

Danielle does get discounts at most restaurants. She gets 20% at most which is more than my 10% AP discount. During certain times of the year they get a bigger discount at select restaurants. She work in food service so she eats for free when she's at work. This has really saved her on meals. She no longer has to bring food to work for her break.

Looking forward to hearing about Michelle’s night and love that you all get to go to AK together before your journey home. Hopefully the early opening doesn’t have a negative impact on your plans.

I'm hoping Michelle will get some time to post her story.

I was thinking of you all yesterday as I decided to watch the original Hocus Pocus on Disney + before I watch the new movie tomorrow.
I'm honored that you thought of us. We have all watched the new Hocus Pocus, but just not together. The Friday night it aired we all watched it. Michelle came over with the kids, Brent was watching from his home in Austin and Danielle was watching in Orlando. We were texting each other, it was really a great family moments even if we were in 3 different states.

Sometimes the heat and humidity just gets overwhelming. AC is a good pick me up.

We really needed the AC. Heat and humidity with masks are hard.

We love B&C!

Another vote for B&C. I'm sure we will make it back there again.

I hate the phrase "fill in all available space!"

Me too.

I love that "Home" pillow.

It really is perfect.

Hope your day goes well!

We shall see.

It's time for a life update.
Our visit with Danielle has come and gone much too fast. We had a great time but it was very busy.

We started with a family dinner at City Café, the restaurant both girls worked at starting in high school and until they both graduated college. Danielle enjoyed seeing her old co-workers and the owners. She had charbroiled oysters, boudin balls, seafood stuffed mushrooms and Mississippi Mud Pie. I didn't get any photos but she did and did not share. I'm pretty sure they were featured on her Instagram. Friday Danielle went to JP's school and surprised him for lunch. She had my car for the day so ran some errands too. Friday afternoon we packed up and headed to Mississippi to spend the weekend with Dennis' family at the Belmont 1857. Dennis' Aunt rented the whole place out so we could have family time together. We did this for the first time in 2017 and went back in 2018 and 2019. Everyone arrives on Friday night and we visit until late in the night. We gather for breakfast on Saturday morning and just visit all day. It rained on and off on Saturday so that made it hard for the kids. Saturday night we had dinner at the original Doe's and came back for karaoke in the music room. Sunday morning was breakfast together before we all headed back home.

When we got back to Baton Rouge, Dennis took Danielle to the Mall and to the LSU store so she could get some more shirts and stuff.

On Monday Danielle drove me to work so she would have more car to do some more running around. She had more places she wanted to visit and get food from. Monday night we gathered at Michelle to watch the kids trick or treat.

Tuesday I was at work but Dennis had the day off. He took her back to City Café so she could see some more friends. They went downtown so Danielle could see the USS Kidd. The Mississippi is so low it is fully exposed.

She flew back to Orlando that afternoon and landed right before 8 pm. She was picked up by friends. They went straight to DHS for her cast member preview of Fantasmic and were seated in the front row. She was really excited about this since it's her favorite nighttime show. One of her other friends has her cast member preview so they will be seeing it again before it officially opens. Tuesday night was for DHS CMs only and 3 guests.

We were all sad to see her go but since we'll be seeing her in 23 more sleeps it has helped to ease the pain.
