Magic Kingdom- 10/9 The Sanderson Sisters Come Out to Play

Day 2 had us up early to get ready for our MK day. The park was going to be open from 9-8 and we really wanted to get as much park time as possible. We had an ADR for CRT @ 12:35. I made this ADR as soon as it was announced it was going to be open for our trip. Danielle had been working as a seater here when the park was shut down. She was really looking forward to seeing some of her old co-workers and to eat here as a guest.

This was also our day we were dressing up as the Sanderson Sisters. There was no party or after-hour event in 2020, but they did allow people to dress up. We had way too much fun putting our costumes together. Most of what we used came from Amazon. Michelle and I had our outfits together way in advance, but Danielle waited until the last minute.

Michelle and I started our day with some coffee on the balcony.



We found out how bad the lighting was in the bathroom as we all tried to get ready. I think we would have made it for rope drop if we hadn't stopped to make this fun little video in the hallway outside the room

We were on a bus by 8:40 am and headed to the park.




Once we got to the park can you guess what we did first?

If you guessed rent a locker than you would be right. We had plans to change part way through the day.

We were soon seeing this. This was our first fall trip so we were all excited to see the decorations.

We were disappointed that there were no Photo Pass Photographers to get our official picture. I understand why, they didn't want people stopping on Main Street and being too close to one another.

We offered to take someone's picture and then they took ours.


We had a little fun taking these pictures.






We then walked back down Main Street and put the huge ears in our locker. We did handmake the ears and they were really cute but way too big to wear all day.

The pictures were done and were all a little more comfortable so it was not time to ride a ride. Where should be go first?

It is going to be 90 here today, we rarely hit 90 so a nice hot one for us way up north!
If you ever want a cool summer vacation, come to Duluth, Minnesota! We are right on Lake Superior and it acts like a big old air conditioner! Oh yeah, it is beautiful up here as well!
We get many tourists from Texas in the summer!

I think we're planning on arriving on 12/7 and leaving on 12/11. Dennis and I may go earlier to take of some business with Danielle. We need to make sure her car gets an oil change and change the title over to her. I'm sure a Target run and Costco run will be done too. We're still putting ideas together and nothing is set in stone but Michelle does want to be in MK for Dominic's 1st birthday. I don't think we'll have time for a party.

It was too fast. The temperatures were good until our one and only park day. We baked.

It is going to be 90 here today, we rarely hit 90 so a nice hot one for us way up north!

That is hot for so far north.

I may not. I'm getting more and more concerned about the baggage situation in Toronto (where we'll switch planes). I can't bring a costume in a carry-on.
Might pack it and other non-essentials in a suitcase and hope? I just don't know yet. I have to talk to DD but I haven't really been home for days (due work).

Have to say we found there were still very few photopass photographers about on our trip (which I’m still in awe actually happened lol). Didn’t matter too much for us because my lovely menfolk rarely get their photo taken I did insist on a couple just so we could actually have proof of being there in the future.
The fall decorations look beautiful. July was hot! I think I’d prefer the autumn/ winter .

I know what you mean about the males not taking pictures. I had this issue last month with DH and DS. No photopass pictures taken at all.

I do love the fall decorations. June was hot I can't imagine how much hotter July was. You do need to do a fall/winter trip.

The Sanderson Sisters get their "Ride On". MK-Friday, October 8,2020

Our photos had been taken, we had stored our huge ears in the locker and now we were finally ready to ride some rides. I did stop to post my first and only photo on the AP Facebook page of us in our costumes. It was was my first photo posted and my last. I got a lot of positive feedback but some not so nice and I'll leave it at that.

We consulted MDE and Touring plans and headed to


Our first ride of the day would be Pirates.



The wait was posted at about 35 and I think we waited about 25. While we were in line Michelle posted a little video. As a disclaimer, I want to say she did this in the corner no where near anyone.

Another Glorious Morning

And of course we took our traditional first ride selfie.



In true Sanderson Sister tradition, we did try to put a hex on everyone.


Look how far apart we were from the other riders. We're now back to "fill all available space".

Once we got off we took some more photo pass pictures. The CM took lots of photos and then just took some of me because I looked the most wenchy.





We slowly made our way to Frontierland and of course stopped for more photos. You can't dress up for Halloween and not take a photo with The Hitch-hiking Ghosts.



We caught our first Cavalcade as we made our way to grab some breakfast.


Traditionally we get breakfast from Starbucks or Gaston's but today we wanted to try something new for us. We also wanted to get one of the fall special offerings so we headed to Sleepy Hollow. The line was long, this was before it had mobile ordering. While waiting I grabbed this photo and it's still my screen saver and count down photo.

Danielle can't hang.

It was about 10:30 so we were pretty hungry but didn't want to overdo it since we had a lunch ADR for 12:35. Everyone got something delicious and then we all shared. Danielle got the fresh fruit Waffle sandwich, Michelle got the Mickey waffle with fruit and whipped cream and I got the Pumpkin Spiced waffle sundae. We all got some iced coffee to help cool us down and wake us up.



Everything was really good! We were not disappointed with anything we got.

After breakfast we did some shopping in Memento Mori. There was a line to get in due to the limited number of people allowed. Danielle had reached her limit with the heat and did not join us. She found a small patch of shade and waited. This would not be the first time the heat was too much for her along with wearing the mask. It became a running joke that "Danielle can't hang". She was the youngest and should have been able to take more than us. When she did her first DCP she started in January and left in March plus she had an inside job so no worries with the heat. We really worried about when she went back and it was the heat of summer and she was outside. I will say in the end she did really well and by the end of her DCP in Epcot she had a nice tan and muscles.


Poor Danielle.




We had time for 1 more ride before lunch and the line for Haunted Mansion was not ever going to get shorter. Because of the spacing the line was all along the water so we took the opportunity to take some lovely photos.






While we were waiting in the line along the water we heard another cavalcade coming so Danielle jumped out of line to try and photos. While she was gone a lady with a stroller stopped to comment on our costumes and ask where Sarah was. We explained that she had run off to chase the parade. Danielle did not share her photos to I don't have them but she was stopped by the same lady. When we approached the CM in front of the entrance arch he asked where Sarah was too. Lots of jokes about how flighty she is was made while we waited for her and once she got back in line. We had lots of great interaction with the CMs and the other guests for as long as we were dressed.

I think our HM ride photo is one of my favorites.
