Food that you eat... that's not common.

Hm..Imagine this

Anything my grandma makes.. :

Lime jello
Celery
Carrots
walnuts
and other things i cant remember
ALL IN ONE!!

but those are the highlights

German Potato salad..mm..

Imagine..potato salad...smothered in.... vinegar!!

I put vinegar on about every food item I can.

I especially like it with pasta and chicken nuggets.
And the bread on the nugget soaks it up...
MMMM.

My mom is pretty big on putting organs in almost every big meal she makes. Almost always a new one...

My mom makes orange puffs...

Their nasty.

it's not really common anywhere other than here, but we very often have jigs dinners . :)<3
it's VERY common here, a newfoundland tradition, but anyway, jigs dinner is salt beef, cabbage, potatoes, pease pudding, and a few other things .
it sort of resembles a turkey dinner, but with some traditional newfoundland touches.
i personally don't like pease pudding, but i looove everything else.

I like sushi. Whenever I tell people I eat it they get grossed out. My favorite's the Philadelphia Roll. It has cream cheese and salmon in it.

Specific to my area that everyone drinks is Del's Frozen Lemonade. It's delicious.

Ummmm....I put ranch dressing, bbq sauce, or ketchup on everything.

Uhmm...we eat tacos a lot. Most people use those crunchy "taco bell" shells, we use soft corn tortillas. Much much better.

Taquitos. Nobody I've ever met has had one. :confused3

Speaking of deep fryers, we use ours a lot too. :) I love taking hot fries and sprinkling a bunch of cheddar over them and letting it melt. Mmmmm.

I LOVE TAQUITOS.
Seems like everyone around here knows what they are, all my friends know them...

And I dunno if it's just the tristate area, but everyone around here eats huge amounts of pizza. Like, generally once or twice a week.
And my family eats potatoes constantly. Not too weird, but like, ALL the time. Guess it's the Irish blood :]

And, what's poutine?
I heard them say it once on Degrassi, and that's as far as my knowledge goes on that... :D

I eat those all the time lol

Cotechino, panceta, cacciucco, polenta, orchiette, pignolata, and.. ox tongue. Yes, I eat ox tongue.

Gah, my parents friends are from Newfoundland, and they gave my mother a bunch of recipes for Christmas and stuff and I was shocked by how weird traditional Newfoundland food is.
I can't remember the names, I think it may have been Jigs dinner, but I'm not sure. Whatever the recipes were of, I remember thinking I would probably never eat half the stuff on it.

Taquitos are amazing!! Meat and spices rolled up in a corn tortilla (or sometimes flour) and baked...or fried. My fav are from a local mexican restaurant here. AMAZING!

REAL mexican food...not like On the Border...but REAL. It is usually cheap and delicious! I love the machaca, and carnitas!

::yes:: Most people I know have never had real mexican food.

And about taquitos guys, that's really weird. None of my friends have ever eaten them!

I don't know why we eat so much mexican food. My family comes from California and I live in Arkansas. :confused3 Weird. Maybe my family just one day decided they liked mexican food and started making it.

Pot Stickers are pretty big here...

And Mexican food is huge...

Sushi...

Most people up here in Northern California eat that stuff though
