Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

Very cute! One of my missions for this trip is to get as many magic shots as I can. We only got 2 in Feb. (Stitch breaking out of the box at AK entrance, and holding baby Simba at AK). I really want the Mickey balloons shot and a Tink in hand one :) Love the frog ones though :love:

Yes, I was more comfortable with the PP photographers this time, too. This was our first time actually purchasing PP...thanks to sandym718 for the pp share! :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So much fun planned for this week and weekend. Tomorrow night we go to a Nashville Sounds baseball game. It is our tradition to go to this minor league game every year for our 4th of July...they do fireworks after the game. :cool1: BFF and her family started going with us last year and will join us again this year too. :banana:
On the actual 4th we will be making the 2 1/2 hour drive to Birmingham, AL to meet my folks for lunch...why so far for lunch? :confused3 Because they are taking our kids home with them for a week!!!! :yay:
Saturday evening Brian and I will be having a very special date night. He is taking me to Arrington Vineyards near Nashville for a lovely gourmet picnic and wine tasting. :love:
So what do my friends in DIS~land have planned for the 4th of July?
Great pictures!!!
Kid-free for a week, whoo-hoo!!! Sounds like a great time planned!!
DH will only have Wednesday off for the 4th, we're just going to a picnic at my parents. Should be a relaxing day though!
I amjealous that you can nap mid day to enjoy extra late emh. Even without Katjewe could not do kt,but i am not a napper.
Love the photopass pictures... And I especially love your shirts, especially the adult ones! Where did you find those?
As usual - I love how expressive your kids are - you can see their happiness in every picture. :)
I hope you all have a wonderful 4th!
Wow Oopsi! What great PP shots!! :love:
Thanks Liddy! I really liked them too. So glad I was able to participate in the PP share, we probably would not have done it without that.
Thanks Sandy! I hope you were truly able to relax for the 4th! We drove 4 hours each way yesterday to take my kids to my parents for the week...this was after not getting to bed until after midnight Tuesday night after the baseball game. :crazy2: We are BEAT... just ready to rest and relax tonight.
Welcome back Moira! Yes, we really did have a wonderful time. We cannot wait to go back next year, it just can't come soon enough! :rotfl:
The princess and frog magic shot is in front of Crystal Palace. I thought they turned out great. :goodvibes
The kids and I are nappers. Brian normally is not...he makes exceptions for Disney trips though! :thumbsup2
I got those shirts from the online Disney store. I am not sure if you can tell, but the adult ones are sketches of "Mickey through the Years"~and that is what the shirt says. We liked them, but personally I thought it was a little too thin (a bit too "transparent" for my taste :lmao:). Yes, my kids take pretty good pictures, as long as Gabe isn't flashing his fake smile. :sad2:
Thanks! I was so excited to get to actually DO the pp this time. We had never used it before...I am hooked now! :thumbsup2 The princess and frog magic shot is in front of the Crystal Palace. I sure do hope you get your pictures soon...I am not the most patient person either. :sad2:
I thought I would share some pictures from our 4th of July. We went to the Nashville Sounds baseball game Tuesday night. This game is our family tradition for the 4th~this is where we always get our fireworks show. My bff and her family started going with us every year, too.
Our happy family all matchy-matchy (only for this game and Disney!)
Yesterday Brian and the kids and I met my parents for lunch at Cracker Barrel in Birmingham, AL. That is the halfway point from our house to theirs.
Hellllllooooooo!!!! Anybody here? Where is everbody? :confused3 Well, in case there are lurkers, I thought I would post some more IRL stuff.
Brian and I are without our children this week, they are out of state with the grandparents. Brian thought this would be the perfect time to take me on a VERY special date. :lovestruc We made plans to visit Arrington Vineyards. This is a local vineyard/winery partly owned by Kix Brooks from Brooks and Dunn. Last week we pre-ordered a gourmet picnic basket. We had been looking forward to enjoying the wine tasting, a bottle of our favorite "flavor", and a nice dinner on the front porch. What we did not plan on or look forward to were temps in the 100's! :crazy2:Yeah, it was HOT! :furious: We weren't really angry, I just wanted to use this emoticon to indicate how friggin' HOT it was!
Anywho, we soldiered on and enjoyed a nice evening alone. Of course we took some pictures...
You will notice in this next picture that we have had a very hot, dry summer so far in TN
We did have a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the calm, laid back atmosphere. The wine tasting was fun. (my favorites were the dessert wines :rotfl:)There was a live jazz band playing that we loved. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner of: Pork Loin, Roasted Veggies, Wild Rice Pilaf, Greek Slaw, "Farm Bread" with dipping oil and a lovely white wine with a German name that I will not EVEN try to pronounce. :rotfl2: If you really want to know what the name of it is, check the wine bottle picture above. :thumbsup2 We ended up not staying long at all due to the heat. :faint: We vowed to visit again in the fall when the temperatures are more conducive to outdoor "living". ::yes::
Looks like a nice relaxing day! And you look beautiful in that purple dress....love it!
Awesome pics! One of my besties and her hubby just celebrated their anniversary at a vineyard. I would love to do that someday!
And I think the wine is pronounced: ga-vez-der-meaner, or something like that. It's one of my favorite white wines. That and Reislings. Very yummy dessert wines! Try Resiling Chateau St. Michele! :thumbsup2
Mmmmm! Looks like it was a lovely meal! Glad your enjoying your time alone :) We get ours late in August this year and as much as we looove always having DD around we are REALLY looking forward to some 'us' time!!
Love the matchy matchy shirts too :) lol. Looks like it was a fun time at the game!
I've noticed things have been quiet around here too. Guess people are enjoying summer time and not on the computer as much. that's a good thing i guess but I posted my HS day a week ago and got no comments so I'm on strike. LOL No posting til i accumulate some comments. :rotfl:
I loved the updates Oopsi!!!
I am going to start making you text me when you update your TR like I make Liddy do - because I always feel bad when I miss something.
I loved the pics of the kids with the grandparents, and the 4th of July - it looks like you had an awesome time! Your family is just so sweet!
Mmm... And the vinyard - what an excellent idea! We dont' have too many around here, but we'll be celebrating our 15th in Dec - we should plan something memorable. :) And I love wine...
It's one of my favorite white wines. That and Reislings.
I am a Reisling girl too... :blush: I have a whole fridge full... :rolleyes1
