Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

Oh how I wish I could have finished all those Hail Marys in just a day....:sad2:

Yes, the Disney gods really felt that we should take the time to enjoy the MSEP. I really do like that parade...but here is confession time: I listen to Dis radio quite a bit at work and they like to play that soundtrack a LOT and well, I was BURNT OUT on it before we got to Disney. :lmao: Guess I need to limit my Dis radio right before we go back next time! :thumbsup2

I totally think they took the Sword and the Stone put them away when they heard you were coming...Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

You are probably correct on the Mine Train not being open yet in 2013. In my mind, the new FL will be all finished and waiting for me when I go back... just leave me to my fantasies, okay! pixiedust:

We never found out why JC was closed. :sad1: Of course they should have opened the velvet rope and had a red carpet leading to MY cruise boat when I arrived. What was wrong with them? :confused3

I am happy to eat your portion of DW! ::yes:: Does your DH like it? DD? DS? Kouga? Akki? I would be more then willing to eat their portion as well...:rolleyes1

The badge? What badge? :confused3 Hmmmm...oh THAT badge... wonder if it DOES show up? popcorn::

I hope you can finish your Hail Mary's before your next trip! :thumbsup2:lmao:

Definitely limit your radio/CDs/etc before a trip! :thumbsup2 Hmm... :scratchin Maybe I should listen to more radio. :lmao:

I totally agree. They must have moved the Sword in the Stone to clean it or something. ::yes::

DH didn't care for the DW either. The kids loved it though ... not sure about Kouga and Akki, they never join us at MK. :confused3 So you can at least get two ... and DD isn't supposed to have the DW anyway .... so go ahead and take all four of ours (six if you include Akki and Kouga). :thumbsup2

So ... waiting. And waiting. And WAITING. Let's do this already! :lmao::rotfl2:

What is this? The oopsi and Liddy show? :lmao::rotfl2: Just so you know you have me laughing so much and my kids are looking at me as if I am strange. Ok, ok, I know what you are thinking, be nice.;)

I just checked the Fantasyland expansion thread and the mine train is slated to open in 2014 at this time. I was looking foward to everything be open in fantasyland as well, but at least most of it will be open. I am still looking foward to hear more concrete info about Be Our Guest.

I love DW's, so if you need someone to help you eat all of Liddy's families DW I will bring my kids and we will pig out.:rolleyes1

Sooo, since Liddy got so hungry at ate your post does that mean I can blame her for all the times the post I am working on disappears.:lmao:

I'm ready to take all the blame! :thumbsup2

And if you hadn't seen already Corrine, there's a post about BoG on the Disney Blog today. ADRs can be made in late August. The menu items sound amazing!!!!! It's definitely on my list! :woohoo:

Yes~stick around for the oopsi and Liddy song and dance later! :dancer: :dancer:

What were we thinking? :confused3 Surely not this... No, we would NEVER think a thing like that about you... :rolleyes1

Who said anything about sharing the DW? It is all for MEEEEE (insert maniacal laugh)!!!!! :upsidedow

I suppose I should do another update. I hate this because it just seems like the magic is slipping away with each update I do and I want so badly to hold onto it. :sad1: Well, here goes the conclusion to Day 4...

DAY 4, MARCH 11, 2012, cont.'d

Let's see where did we leave off? Ahhh, I had just been crushed by the realization that I would not get to do the Jungle Cruise on this trip. But then the fates smiled on me and I had partaken of my very first Dole Whip.

So after partaking in the loveliness of the DW we made a beeline for Pirates of the Caribbean. We rode the ride again, and it was every bit as great as the first time we rode it that morning. After disembarking we went straight to the dump shop counter to see if Gabe's sheriff's badge had been found or turned in...sadly it had not. :sad1:

It was a lovely badge. I wish now that we had taken a picture of Gabe with his badge, but alas all we have are our memories. We had great times with that badge....yes, the walk from the store of purchase over to POC where it was lost forever will always be remembered. RIP Sheriff's badge with Gabriel's name on it... :charac2:

The children decided to drink away their sorrows with a pint of beer...oh wait, it wasn't beer...it was CANDY!!! We dedided to let them load up on sugar since we still had hours of fun left that night. So, they all got candy while in the POC dump shop. :hyper::hyper::hyper: The candy took its effect, and we were off to Tomorrowland...

Here is where we took the night in two identical cycles. Jillian wanted to go on Space Mountain...and so did Brian...and so did I. So, how do you work that out when there are two small children who do NOT want to go on it? Well, first Brian and Jillian go on SM while I take the little ones for a ride on the Peoplemover. I love this ride and could not wait to let the little ones experience it, since they had never ridden it before. So we head that way and WHAT? Not again! :sad2: Yep, you guessed it...Peoplemover is CLOSED! Well, this was my fault. Apparently I did not plan correctly and the Peoplemover closed at 1 am...it was now 1:15. So, no JC and no Peoplemover on this trip. :sad1: Must put them at the top of the must-do list for next time! :thumbsup2

Since the PM was closed we took a ride on the Tomorrowland Speedway again (all three of us in one car ). We then took a spin on Buzz Lightyear. There were lots of people lined up for the Zurg picture, so I told them to have daddy get that shot when it was his turn to entertain the troops.

So, we met back up with Brian and Jillian and it was now my turn to go on SM. They said they were able to get on with a minimum wait, so I was looking forward to the same stroke of luck...what was I thinking? :confused3 Let's take inventory:

*JC was closed when I wanted so badly to go on it at night time
*PM was closed because I did not pay close enough attention to the time

So what made me think I had any kind of good luck going for me?!? :confused3 Well, SM wasn't closed, but just as Jillian and I walked up we were preceded by a group of about 50 OBNOXIOUS teenagers! Yeah. There are no fastpass lines open for EMH, but these idiots kept yelling and screaming back and forth at each other in line, jumping over the railing and RUNNING down the FP line laughing hysterically. :headache: I like teenagers. My daughter will BE a teenager in two months and I fancy myself to be one of the "cool moms"...but these juveniles were off the hook insane! We had to wait over 30 minutes in line behind them. It was horrible. We finally made it and I LOVED SM. I had not been on it since I was a teenager, and it was awesome!!! It dawned on my how much longer this roller coaster is than the other ones in WDW. It went on FOREVER and I loved every moment of it.

After getting off, we met up with Brian and the little ones. They had gone on the Speedway and Buzz again. And this time they got the money shots:

Okay,so maybe this one isn't worth much...but this one:

DSCN2387.jpg

Yeah, that's the good one!

It was now time to say goodnight to MK...and goodbye to MK for another year and half. :sad1: We DID make it 'til 3am! :cool1: We were all tired and ready to retire for the night. We went back to the room and zonked out. We did not go back to the MK that trip....little did we know there was a soft opening of the new FL when the park opened a few hours later!!!! :scared1::eek: We could have seen it, we could have ridden the new Dumbo, we could have stormed the barn with Goofy....but we did not. :sad1:

Soooo, what DID we do the next day???? popcorn::

I'm ready to take all the blame! :thumbsup2

And if you hadn't seen already Corrine, there's a post about BoG on the Disney Blog today. ADRs can be made in late August. The menu items sound amazing!!!!! It's definitely on my list! :woohoo:

I know I just saw that post up on FB. It looks so good. I have been floating around an idea to do dinner there, but now I think it is a must.

:upsidedow

Song and dance?? Really.:scared1::scared1: If I can remember correctly, Liddy told me last year that she couldn't sing. Which is why I volunteered to sing for last years dance party. Hmmm, should be interesting.:rolleyes1

Of course it's all about you oopsi.:rolleyes1 (I smile as I grab the DW from her hands and run away.:lmao:)

Your movie night adventure is really great! I can't wait to show my sister - another Dis-er.

You guys stayed until 3 am ?? OMG I have a hard time making it until 10:00 pm !! I guess that's the Grandma in me .. :rotfl:

It's good to see you guys making the best of your time there though ! :thumbsup2

Did you guys sleep away the whole next day ?? I would have.

We're such great dancers! :dancer: :dancer:

Sorry that the badge was not found. :guilty: And sorry everything you planned for was pretty much closed! I love the WEDway .... it's a must for us ... sorry that you didn't get a spin.

And super sorry about the obnoxious teenagers! I can't believe that some people would let a large group of teens run rampant in a park. Sure, teens are usually well-behaved in SMALL numbers ... but when they're with a large group ... they turn into idiots! (And I think I know the group of teens you are talking about. :rolleyes1) Glad you enjoyed Space Mtn!!! :woohoo:

Your video is priceless! I can't wait to read the rest of your report.

Thank you so much...and WELCOME!

I know I just saw that post up on FB. It looks so good. I have been floating around an idea to do dinner there, but now I think it is a must.

Ooooh~if you get to try it out you must come back and tell us all about it! :thumbsup2

Oh, well I will be singing while Liddy dances! It will be all the rage, just wait and see... :happytv:

Your movie night adventure is really great! I can't wait to show my sister - another Dis-er.

The movie nights are great, and a great way to pass the time between Disney trips!

Well, I definitely could not have made it that late without a super long nap earlier in the day! :sad2: We definitely capitalized on the EMH's! Hmmmmm~I guess you will have to stick around to see what we do the next day (really later THAT day since it was 3am)...popcorn::

How about a little IRL fun? Our family went to the Nashville Zoo this past weekend. They have a Dinosaur exhibit for the summer. We loved the zoo so much we went ahead and bought a year membership! :cool1: So, for your viewing pleasure....The ZOOOOO!!!!

I just found your TR...and read all the way through! Looking forward to hearing more about your adventure!

Can't wait to read the next installment. I read through the whole TR today. What a great surprise. What a wonderful moment for you to have on video! It's so cool you were able to do that for your kids---who are just adorable by the way :goodvibes

And I LOVED reading about your movie nights. So fantastic and creative...I am off to read that idea thread you recommended right now! :thumbsup2

That surprise was one of the best things we have ever done for our kids. That will definitely go down as one of our favorite memories in life. :cloud9:

I can't wait to hear about you finally telling your children about your trip (whenever that may be)! popcorn:: I know what you mean about having to wait for so long...there was five years between our first two trips. :sad2: Then we drank the Koolaid and there was no turning back...:rotfl2:

What a great idea! Too bad they weren't around, but a cool idea anyway :)

The funny thing about that observation tunnel is that our children had gone on a school trip and Charity told us that a meerkat actually came up to the tunnel when she was in it..."it freaked me out! I got out of there as fast as I could!" :lmao: I think she was fine observing from afar! :thumbsup2

Yeah, that candy went a long way in making our night more pleasurable...no whining about being tired~they were just ready to party! :rotfl:

He never even mentions that badge. I think, for him, it was just one of those impulse purchases we we all make and wish we hadn't. :rolleyes1 He is already talking about needing a Jack Sparrow costume next time we go...nothing about getting another badge. :sad2:

I just found your TR...and read all the way through! Looking forward to hearing more about your adventure!

:welcome: I worried that I was losing readers since I am stretching this report out a bit. It's always nice to have new victims...um, I mean readers! :rotfl2:
