Great trip - hope to post that report soon. In the meantime...

6 days/5 nights – Magic Your Way plus dining
DD6, Mom 50+, Me 29

Day 1 - 1/30/06
Supper at Coral Reef (Epcot) – total 3 table service (TS) credits:
DD6 – tenderloin skewers, kids’ pizza, (too full for dessert), chocolate milk
Mom – lobster soup, filet mignon, chocolate mousse raft dessert, Coke
Me – crab cake, filet mignon, butterscotch brulee dessert, chocolate milk
Review: Great atmosphere –the aquarium/fish/divers were wonderful – worth telling your hostess that you are willing to wait for a window seat like we did! Good service, great food and portion size (desserts were huge!)

Day 2 - 1/31/06
Breakfast at CRT (Magic Kingdom – last day before prices jumped!) – 3 TS credits:
DD – fruit, doughnut, bacon, sausage, (does not like scrambled eggs), OJ
Mom and me – same, along with cream cheese stuffed French toast, OJ/tea
Review: There is just something about eating in the castle! DD had fun meeting Cinderella in the downstairs lobby. Great service – we loved being addressed as “m’ladies” and as “princess” and “queens”. Only three princesses were making rounds (Snow White, Belle in blue dress, Aurora) – not sure if that is typical. Food/portions were good
Note: With the price going up due to the “included photo package”, I am not sure if I would be willing to go again – but it is definitely still worth doing once!

Lunch – back to the room for snacks (PB crackers, granola bars, other delicious healthy things) and a nap

Supper at Crystal Palace (MK) – 3 TS credits:
DD – pizza (2nd night in a row), dinner roll, ice cream sundae, pink lemonade, misc. other stuff
Mom – roasted turkey, pork tenderloin, cream of potato soup, cold salad, other foods I can’t remember
Me – prime rib, mashed potatoes (CP has the best!), dabs of red velvet cake, tiramisu, and cheesecake, lots of other yummy stuff
Review: For a buffet, the food is top-notch – everything is specialized and delicious. The service was good (quick to refill drinks). We had eaten at CP in 2004, and this experience was very consistent. However, for some reason Eeyore never made it to our table this time. The other characters (Tigger, Piglet and Pooh) were hilarious. I challenged Tigger to a bouncing match: I told him I had been practicing at home on my trampoline – of course he won. You should have seen the faces of the people at the other tables!
Note: a whole day of walking really works up the appetite! I’m still not sure where we put all that food!

Day 3 - 2/1/06
Breakfast in room (Pop-Tarts and other healthy things)

Lunch at Pop Century food court – 3 counter service (CS) credits
DD – kids’ chicken nuggets meal, Mickey rice crispie treat, skim milk
Mom and me – cheeseburgers, French fries w/ cheese sauce (yum yet again), skim milk, chocolate cake/sugar cookie
Review: Good fast food meal

Supper at Pizza Planet (MGM) – 3 CS credits
Pizza of course (DD was thrilled – 3 nights in a row for her!) – one pepperoni, two cheeses, plus salads, cokes, and cookies for dessert
Review: Pizza was fine - slightly overdone from sitting under the heat lamps. Salads were fresh. We ate outside on the patio – beautiful evening.
Note: Managed to convince DD that she didn’t need to do the video games as we were in a hurry to catch Indiana Jones!

Day 4 - 2/2/06
Breakfast in room (obviously we are not big breakfast people)

Lunch at Casey’s Corner (MK) – 3 CS credits
DD6 – corn dog nuggets, French fries w/ cheese sauce, Coke
Mom – foot long hot dog, fries w/ cheese, Coke
Me – corn dog nuggets, fries w/ cheese, Coke
2 brownies and a Cracker Jack for dessert
Review: We loved sitting outside listening to the ragtime/big band music the pianist performed. Yes it was fast food, but good fast food – love those fries!
Note: why is it that we are from Wisconsin (the dairy state) but have to travel all the way to Disney to get cheese with our fries??!

Supper at Liberty Tree Tavern (MK) – 3 TS credits
All – shared delicious green beans, turkey/ham/roast beef, stuffing, mashed potatoes/gravy, lettuce salad w/ strawberry vinaigrette dressing, warm dinner rolls, and apple cobbler with ice cream (3 chocolate milks)
Review: Enjoyed the atmosphere, characters (Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale) were fantastic for time spent at each table and interaction, food and service were both good
Note: We asked about the mugs our drinks came in and they do sell them for 4.99 each plus tax – we bought 2! Great (inexpensive) souvenir!

Day 5 - 2/3/06
Breakfast in room (surprise, surprise!)

Lunch at Pop Century food court - 3 CS credits
DD – meatball sub
Mom – nachos supreme, cheesy fries
Me – Asiago chicken sandwich, cheesy fries
Review: still fast food, but still pretty good
Note: because fries were not part of the entrée, the meal plan did not cover them as side dishes – but the cashier was very nice and only charged us for one order of fries, as the servers were somewhat skimpy with our portions

Supper - Princess Storybook Dining @ Akershus (Epcot) – 3 TS credits
DD – hot dog w/ corn, chocolate milk, pickles, cucumbers, bread (can you tell - not an ethnic food fanatic)
Mom – venison stew, Coke, bread, various cold salads
Me – traditional kjottkake (which is somewhat like meat loaf), chocolate milk, bread, various cold salads
Shared – dessert platter – rice pudding, lingonberry tart, chocolate mousse
Review: We picked this meal for the princesses, and this meal does get high ratings from us for atmosphere and character interaction. We saw 5 princesses (including Cinderella, who was “never” supposed to appear here) and Prince Ali. The cold salad bar had a great variety – although not really choices that appealed to me. The main entrees were satisfying (although Mom said her venison was tough). Dessert was the best part of the meal (yes, we all have a sweet tooth, in case that has not been obvious).

Day 6 - 2/4/06
Breakfast at Pop Century food court – 3 CS credits (shook things up a bit, we needed a solid base for our day of traveling!)
DD6 – pancake platter with bacon and sausage, skim milk
Mom – French toast platter with bacon and sausage, skim milk
Me – pancake with fruit platter with bacon and sausage, skim milk
Review: pancakes were pre-made and over-done, everything else was good

15 snack credits – used throughout the days for ice cream bars, Coke, etc. – ended up bringing home 7 Mickey rice crispie treats. :)

Total estimated food cost (including tips, tax): $629+
Estimated meal plan cost: $434.85 (although I had Disney dollars to pay for 2/3 of it)
Would I do the dining plan again? Yes – very easy to use and once you have it you can “justify” doing a character meal every day!

Thanks so much for your detailed reviews. I really enjoyed them!

Thanks for the review!

I love red velvet cake and we have ADR's there in July! I hope they have it then!

Thank you for the reviews. You ate places we didn't but may consider.

Thank you so much for the informative review. Our family is considering using the dining plan, and your post has been very helpful.

Enjoyed reading your reviews :hourglass ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the reviews, especially Coral Reef. I can't wait to try this place in April.

We're going for our anniversary dinner and we have 6:00 ADR. What time were the divers in the tank when you were there? Do they have tables for bigger parties (5 of us) right near the tank?

We were there at 6:00, as well, and the divers were in the tank almost the whole time (on a Monday, not sure if that matters). The tables right next to/touching the window are for 4 or less, but they have semi-circle booths that face the window that could easily seat five or 6.

Have fun! :)

Thank you! I'm so excited! :goodvibes

Glad it was helpful. DH, DD, and me were there in April 2004 (pre-dining plan) and after this girl trip, I highly recommend using the dining plan! I loved that it was paid for as part of our package - so at the end of the big meals there was zero guilt factor when the bill came! :wizard:

Have fun planning!
