Once again looking for interesting, well-executed food! We'll have young kids with us, so no V&A or Chef's tables for us. Which Signature has knocked it out of the park? And what did you order?

The bbq chicken flatbread, filet with macaroni and cheese, and a bottle of pinotage from South Africa, which our waiter suggested. The wine was middle of the line price-wise, and delicious.

I can't wait to return some day.

FYI - We also did the free culinary tour of Africa that day, which consisted of tours of both Boma and Jiko. We originally had reservations booked for the Yachtsman that evening, but after the tour we decided to make the switch, and we were both glad that we did.

After a stomach flu hit DD during our last trip, we had to cancel our ADR at Teppan Edo, so DW and I booked Jiko on a whim (we were staying at AKV, so convenience came into play a little as well). It was absolutely one of the best meals we've ever had at WDW. We would go back in a heartbeat. The Filet with Mac&Cheese (and the amazing South African Red Wine Sauce) has become a much requested favourite in our house since that trip, although we cannot make it nearly as well.:confused3

In my opinion, go to Disney with low expectations, and then you might be impressed. Since our kids are grown, our Disney vacations have become mostly about golf and dining, and we love the Disney restaurants, mostly because of the atmosphere, but the food, not so much. We have eaten at most Disney restaurants over and over. We love Portobellos and have been eating there for about 30 years(Levy Restaurant Club), but the food can often be disappointing. They do have great desserts, though, especially the chocolate gelato. The Turf Club at SS has the best caesar salad I have ever had. We like Raglan Road, but more for the atmosphere and entertainment than the food, so we go there every trip. Jiko's, Artist Point, California Grill, Narcoosee's, etc., have great ambiance, but I have never had anything there that I would call memorable. We eat at the Brown Derby at least once every trip, but I honestly couldn't tell you what I really love about the food other than the Cobb Salad and pineapple cake. But we love getting out of the hot sun for the quiet and somewhat elegance of the restaurant. In any case, I don't feel that most of these restaurants are worth the price, but we always purchase the TIW card, so that makes the cost more reasonable for us. I could tell you my favorite meals at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and we also have a Shula's and Emeril's in our town, but of course, they are not at Disney. Now that BlueZoo accepts the TIW care, we will probably be dining there more often.

I didn't vote because I have 3 recommendations.

Citricos is my absolute favorite. The food is amazing and the service, during 3 separate visits, was the best I have ever had in my life.

Flying Fish is a very close second. The food was just as good, and the service was excellent, just not as personal as it was it Citricos.

Jiko is a close third, because their desserts weren't AS good as the other 2, but still delicious!

that I voted for Hollywood Brown Derby...but there you go, on our trip last June on the DxDDP, this was the restaurant that hit it out of the park for the best three course meal.

After being on the deluxe plan for almost a week, we were ready for a lighter meal. We ordered a baby greens salad, which was super yummy and included candied pecans and goat cheese among other add ins. We ordered the grouper, which was OUTSTANDING. DH ordered the Banana's Foster dessert and I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake. Every dish was a winner. I will say that as good as the food was, not a single dish seemed beyond my own ability to prepare at home.

If you are looking for something that is likely beyond even a gourmet home cook's ability, then I would have to recommend CG, if you like sushi, or Jiko, if you like earthy, spicy (not necessarily hot) food. Both had winning desserts for the kiddos. I struck out in the dessert department at both. DH got a winner at CG though. My reviews of our experiences are in my signature in my 2009 review. I'm pretty detailed and took lots of pictures.

Citricos has always been fantastic. We have been going for years and look forward to coming back. The waitstaff has been consistant over the years, many of them work here for several years and do not want to leave or change. One time the kitchen was backed up and the waiter brought an amuse bouche for us to try while waiting.

The food has also been very good each time we visit, so every year we are sure to go at least once. Crab gateau, goat cheese truffle salad, filet siciliano, braised veal shank and the desserts are to die for.

HAHA we totally had the same Jiko meal including wine both DH and I loved it all!!!!

As far as favorites go here is my list also can't wait to try AP, Narcoossee's, and FF

1. Jiko
2. Citricos very close to #1
3. Yachtsman
4. California Grill
5. Brown derby - would not choose to come here again

I voted for California Grill because the food, service, view, and atmosphere is just awesome :goodvibes

We seem to cycle through favorites, but BlueZoo has been consistently on top since it opened.

Our other current favorite is Flying Fish.

My vote went to Jiko, although a few others stick out in my mind as great meals. We pretty much always eat at Jiko, though. Others, while good, aren't as imperative.

I can't tell you a particular meal that I enjoyed, since I tend to get something different every time. I can tell you, though, that I've never been disappointed with my selections.

The top of the list isn't on your poll but would have to be
V&A chefs table or Queens Room.

After V&As I would suggest looking into the Chef's experience at the Fly Fish. It's a tasting menu that is present by the chef at the chef's bar overlooking the kitchen.

Upstairs at WGP in DTD is also pretty good, highly recommend the Duck Neapolitan appetizer.

The last few trips we were a bit disappointed with Jiko and it has fallen off of our list, but they changed chef's in May so we'll give it another try on our next trip.

Hmm, had to think about that one for a bit. I went ahead and chose Californa Grill. We ate there for the first time last trip and the food and service were both excellent. Planning on going again next summer so we'll so how it goes.

Citrico's, Jiko and Artist Point.

Given the mood anyone of these could be the flavor of the day. All three are fantastic in our opinions and are part of almost every trip.

Citrico's - Lamb shank is my fav

Jiko - the steak

Artist Point - Sockeye salmon or buffalo

To be fair- of the choices I have only eaten at Yachtsman, Brown Derby, and CG. But the food at CG was fantastic. None of the items I chose are on the menu at this time (the menu changes a lot) but I had sushi as an app, a hawaiian ono entree, and a no sugar added chocolate dessert. I also sampled my husbands flatbread (very tasty) and steak. Everything was wonderful. I will be returning in a few weeks. I will also make a return visit to YS and will be adding FF to the list.

Hi there! One of my requirements is that the it must be appropriate for children. The chefs table would be too much with them. We dine out every week and do 3-course meals with them, but always pick places that welcome children. We do a lot of gastropubs because they tend to have solid food but have a relaxed atmosphere. They love cheese plates! Anyways, they are good kids and interested in dining and can do a 1.5-hour meal, but not a 3-hour meal. Next year, my DD will be old enough to attend Neverland Club, so then we'll be able to hit the Chef's Table, so I'm taking notes. :cloud9:
