In my opinion, go to Disney with low expectations, and then you might be impressed. Since our kids are grown, our
Disney vacations have become mostly about golf and dining, and we love the Disney restaurants, mostly because of the atmosphere, but the food, not so much. We have eaten at most Disney restaurants over and over. We love Portobellos and have been eating there for about 30 years(Levy Restaurant Club), but the food can often be disappointing. They do have great desserts, though, especially the chocolate gelato. The Turf Club at SS has the best caesar salad I have ever had. We like Raglan Road, but more for the atmosphere and entertainment than the food, so we go there every trip. Jiko's, Artist Point, California Grill, Narcoosee's, etc., have great ambiance, but I have never had anything there that I would call memorable. We eat at the Brown Derby at least once every trip, but I honestly couldn't tell you what I really love about the food other than the Cobb Salad and pineapple cake. But we love getting out of the hot sun for the quiet and somewhat elegance of the restaurant. In any case, I don't feel that most of these restaurants are worth the price, but we always purchase the TIW card, so that makes the cost more reasonable for us. I could tell you my favorite meals at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and we also have a Shula's and Emeril's in our town, but of course, they are not at Disney. Now that BlueZoo accepts the TIW care, we will probably be dining there more often.
