I'm so disappointed in the food selections. The carne assada was so tough we couldn't cut it, bite it or chew it. For $10 a pop we asked for a refund because we had to throw it away. It was not editable. The deconstructed selections were editable but not that good.

Sorry to hear the food wasn't great. We weren't able to go this year, but enjoyed many of the foods we tried on prior festival visits. I hope they improve, and you just experienced an off-day.

Sorry you didn't enjoy the food. We were there in January for a week and tried many of the entrees. There were a couple of disappointments, but almost all of them were very good. Wish we had the time and tummy space to order some of them a second time.

Food is very subjective, one person's love it could be another's how could anyone eat this slop. I've enjoyed most of the things I've eaten at the different festivals but there were definitely things I thought were bad that others just raved over.

This is so true!! We were at FotA Jan 26 - Feb 5. My DD24 and I absolutely LOVED the potato and chorizo empanadas
but my DH hated it. He actually called it vile :rotfl2:

That said, we did not get the carne asada as we had already heard (via Molly@Mammoth Club) that they were a disappointment. We ate so many great food selections at the festival. Besides the empanadas, we really enjoyed the duck with ricotta dumplings, the mushroom raviolis, the scallops, pimento grilled cheese w/tomato soup, the beef shortrib, the beef wellington, the char siu pork bun, the P.E.I mussels, the passion fruit mousse and the black forest cake we all crazy good. There were several other drinks and foods we had as well and many items that we just didn't have the time or stomach space to try!!
