Food into parks

I am a huge Disney fan go about 3 times a year for a week at a time. I am looking at going to universal studio some time next year I normally bring my own food into the parks to save money is this allowed at universal? just looking at saving money
 
Adult Beverages and glass are not allowed.

Kettle One goes in a stainless steel water bottle; not in its original bottle.

Same rules as Disney. No alcohol, etc. Other than that you’re fine.
 
I usually bring a water bottle to the parks, how do they know it's not filled with vodka? 🤣
 
I remember when we couldn't bring in anything. I think the "medical need" challenges arouse and they changed their policy. While I know folks bring in more now (while we do at Disney we opt to not rock that boat at Universal) they do have a more restricted policy on paper. I'd be ready for anything at security.

Outside Food And Drink Policy

We offer a variety of food options at venues throughout the entire destination. However, we understand that guests may need to bring outside food or drink. Only accepted items are permitted.

Acceptable "Food" Items

  • Bottled Water (maximum 2 liters per guest)
  • Any food required for medical purposes, medically indicated nutritional supplements, or special dietary needs
  • Baby food/baby formula
  • Food cannot require heating or refrigeration

Prohibited Items
  • Explosives, weapons, items that can be used as or has the appearance of a weapon
  • Alcohol or drinks containing alcohol
  • Marijuana or any item containing Cannabis or related paraphernalia
  • Illegal items
  • Power driven or radio frequency-controlled devices*
  • Outside food or beverages**
  • Coolers***
  • Glass
  • Suitcases/Bags with wheels
  • Folding chairs
Any other items Universal personnel deem to be inappropriate, disruptive or harmful

*Only devices utilized as a mobility device are permitted.
**Permitted items include bottled water (2 liters per guest max), any food required for medical purposes, medically indicated nutritional supplements, or for special dietary needs, and baby food/baby formula.

Have had no problems bringing in bottles/cans of soda. If in a bag, security tends to ask to see the can (presumably to confirm it's not alcohol). Incidentally, cans of soda just barely fit upright into the ride lockers.
