OK so if the items are not larger than 3 oz can they go in the ziplock bag with other things? I was thinking individual mustard or mayo packs and carmel dip for apples?

Yes, but as far as things like mustard and mayo, you can just put them on the sandwich before you get on the plane - they're only a problem if they're by themselves.

You can squeeze as many packets as you can into your 1 quart zip lock bag.
