I like all kinds of food, I really don't discriminate, but I have noticed a couple things that can make or break your mealtimes at
Disneyland.
You can pick things that are theme park standards: hot dogs, hamburgers, corn dogs, turkey legs, funnel cakes, churros, popcorn, chicken strips, fries, etc. These things will range from really great to mediocre to gross. Corn dogs have had whole threads dedicated to their yumminess and the popcorn and funnel cakes get good reviews. The other things are hit or miss, well churros are well loved, but I ate too many of those when they sold them at my Junior High to even think about them for too long.
On the other hand you can try counter service and sit down places and find really good, original offerings that will rock your world. I think some people make the mistake of not eating at a sit down place thinking it will cost them too much, and they spend $60.00 for burgers, fries, chicken strips and drinks that aren't that great. You can split a plate, just have an appetizer or dessert, etc and get some amazing stuff.
Another thing that makes the meal is where you eat it. I love eating in NOS-- all the places there are good and the people/scenery watching can't be beat. I normally avoid eating in Toontown, Tomorrowland, or Fantasyland. These places seem to get really crowded around chow time and the offerings are so-so although I have heard REALLY good stuff about the Chicken Fusilli from Redd Rocket's, but we had gross pizza there and won't be back...
Rancho by BTMRR has been a family favorite for years and never disappoints and watching the trains go by on the patio is great...
