Food at Disneyland

Another quick question...is it the Stage Door Cafe of the Golden Horseshoe that you can get food and then sit down and watch the show? Just tightening up the details on our Sep. trip...thanks again!:flower3:

The Stage Door Cafe is outside of the Golden HorseShoe Saloon. I guess you carry the food in.:confused3

Hmmm...I guess I pictued a counter service place inside where the show is...don't know where I got that idea. Do people do that? Carry food in? Wouldn't want to be wierd, ya know, my kids would be mortified!:rotfl:

You know it was when I was younger but I guess they wanted more space for tables. My kids would be mortified too! Teenagers by chance?

Sorry for the delayed response...I'm also cruising the site where the link above is from...anyhow, no teenagers, they are 8 & 6. I guess they qualify for 'early mortification'! It would be my daughter especially, yikes...my hair is gonna be completely gray by the time she hits her teens! :scared1:

Living the life. My daughter who just turned 14 yesterday ages me daily. I have two teenage daughters one 14 and one 15. And a son who is 12. Boys are so much easier.

:rotfl:

No wonder we need to escape to Disneyland, huh?:rotfl:
Do you happen to know where the chimichangas from the 'cart' are? I don't remember seeing them before :confused3 and I think they would be a hit...they are pictured in post #603 of the Disneyland Dining thread...

I know that there used to be an OTV cart by the Matterhorn. At least there was in March 2007. I am going to be there in September I will know for sure then. I also believe there is one in Frontierland by the Big Thundermountain Railroad.

We were there last week & I think my favorite foods were the Loaded Baked Potato Soup at the Carnation Cafe on Main Street. My mom & I both got a cup I think it was $3.25 for a cup and it was very filling, I think it came with rolls also. We shared a hamburger/fries at Tast Pilots Grill in DCA and we also got plenty full and it was very good! Corn dog at the Red Wagon on Main Street also very good and can be shared. We also enjoyed the frozen pink lemonade cups while waiting in line for Toy Story. They were $3.25 I think and worth the money, it was so hot when we were there our last 2 days. We also shared that. I think the best thing is to share what you can that way you can try different kinds of things.

Maybe it will be one of those "Here it is, let's get one" kind of things...Do you know about Whitewater Snacks? I guess I am wondering about when it opens...we are staying offsite, but would like to eat there (this trip is becoming more and more about food!)... Would we have to enter through GCH (I think that is possible...) to eat there before DCA opens? Obviously, I guess...but that means a trek through DD... Is it really busy after DCA opens...? Hmmm...all this for a beakfast burrito! Now I think I have really lost it!

I just read a previous post regarding the Chimichangas. I was so excited about trying them this past week & honestly I would have to say that was the worst food item I have ever bought at Disneyland. I dont know if I just got a bad batch or what but it was so dark it was almost to the point of being burnt & all it had in it was beans and cheese. My mom bought it for us to share & I wanted so bad to get our money back but she said not to worry about it but what a waste of money!

You can get to Whitewater Snacks by going into the GCH and following the signs to the pool. We have never eaten there, we usually stay at the Disneyland Hotel and they have their own version of it called Cro Bits N Bites. It has the same menu just no breakfast. I understand. I have never been so interested in the food as I am this trip and I know it is because of the "food porn" on the dining thread. I have been planning our meals and everything. I am obsessing this trip and that is so bad because we are also usi ng this trip to go see Richard Simmons a few times. I don't think I should gain weight while I am down there.:rotfl:

What Richard doesn't know won't hurt him! And MY lips are sealed...well, except for when I am eating all this food I am dreaming of! We have been to DL many times, and just recently started doing the PS reservations & such, and OH MY, YES, discovered the food porn thread... Just show, Richard, I am sure he'll understand...maybe you can print off a few pics, or take your laptop in or something...

Yes, we overlap a day! We may hit American Girl Place and Olivera Street on Sat., we get in from Seattle before noon. Then hit the parks Sunday...not sure yet. We have 5-day hoppers and may upgrade them to AP...woohoo!

Oh goodness no. I love the man but I would get a lecture.:lmao: No I have told hubby that the walking will be excellent exercise and we can always use the gym at the Disneyland Hotel. Not to mention we are going to exercise on September 11 at Slimmons in Beverly Hills.

Saturday is our last day at the parks. Sunday will be DTD and then Slimmons for Richard's radio show.:goodvibes I am thinking of getting AP's before we go for hotel discount.:goodvibes
