Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Lol Alicia... You are not overthinking it. What you're thinking is right. I'm glad you went to sleep last night because that was 2am my time! I won't be posting anything about it in my TR for another month because I'm only 8 weeks. But I wanted to give you the inside scoop ahead of time ;) I can't even find the energy to post an update on the trip. Hopefully this weekend...

Oh my goodness congratulations!!! That took no time at all! :thumbsup2:lmao:

I sooo remember that feeling of being tired constantly. Even getting on the computer was a chore. Hopefully in a few weeks when that 2nd trimester comes, you'll get your energy back and you start feeling like yourself again.

Ahh! I'm just so happy for you guys! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Finally back on the DISboards and catching up!

Your party materials for DS looked amazing! Great job!

Nice work hitting all the F&W booths. That's real dedication to your craft there, and I salute you! :thumbsup2

Yep, i'm currently playing catch up too.

Thanks Mark!

My TR has gone past the one year mark  but I fully intend to finish it by next week!...hopefully.:duck:

Things have recently changed around here. DSIL's maternity had ended last week and DM and I have been talking to her and my DB about helping them watch my nephew while she goes back to work, which means my work schedule has also changed (which is when I DIS the most :bitelip::teeth:)

I'm now watching my nephew Thursdays and Fridays 7:30-4 and working Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with some Mondays thrown in.

Last week was my first week watching my nephew...and oh my. I don't know how you parents do it with more than one. Maybe it's different when it's your own children. But i'm tired when 4 comes around. But he's cute and worth it.

So that's what's happening around here. As soon as I wrap this TR up, I want to tell you all about our upcoming trip. Some pretty exciting stuff is happening for that trip so i'm excited to share, but for now, off to catch up on all my TR's.

Happy (way belated) 2nd birthday to Calvin and Happy 1 Yr Anniversary to your TR! :rotfl2: You did an awesome job with Calvin's birthday party theme. All the details were perfect including the banner. Your dessert selections are making me crave some treats. (as in a krispy treat!)

I want you to know that I owe you a big Thank You since I followed your F&W TR I knew to grab a little F&W passport book to stamp our selections. Sadly, we didn't get too far with that. (Not enough time in Epcot.) Just goes to show that I need to return next year for another pass at that.

Looks like a great tour of the F&W booths. :thumbsup2

That is so nice that you are watching your nephew. It does help when you have someone you trust watch your children. It is very exhausting with two..lol. I do think it is different when you have your own though. It is still very exhausting but you find a way to do it because you have to..lol

Oh my, sounds like the business has been ramped up several notches!!! I know your DB and SiL are certainly very grateful for you and your mom's help though.

No rush on here, it's just for fun. :)

Well Happy Anniversary to your TR! :lmao: I'm looking forward to you wrapping this one up and starting on a new journey!

Happy Anniversary to this thread! The modern gift for a 1st anniversary is apparently a clock - and Disney has definitely featured to famous clocks, including:

Hope things work out well with watching your nephew ... and trust me, you don't magically not get tired just when they are your kids :rotfl:

Well, they always say time flies when you're having fun... :rolleyes1

Enjoy taking care of the nephew. Sorry it is cutting into your DIS time. :rotfl2:

Thanks Brenda, this was a fun party for me! Way easier than his 1st birthday party and with this one I got to enjoy it more.

Yay glad you grabbed a passport! For me it was definitely like a game, trying to collect as many stamps as possible.

If it were the other way around, I would love if she could watch DS for us. You really can't trust anyone now. Even from those websites like Care who background check everyone. Just recently a nanny was found beating 1 year old twins and she was hired from there:(

He's actually napping right now so i'm trying to get an update in! :rotfl2:

I think it will be fun when he gets older and is able to be entertained by DS. That will help me :lmao:

Well Happy Anniversary to your TR! :lmao: I'm looking forward to you wrapping this one up and starting on a new journey!

:rotfl: I don't know why this has taken me so long! I know sometimes when I get on the internet, when I could be DIS'ing, I do surveys for the extra vacation cash so i'm sure that's one of my excuses.

Thanks for my anniversary gift:rotfl2:

Man, I wish that was the case! Guess this is prepping me for my future.

Well, they always say time flies when you're having fun... :rolleyes1

Enjoy taking care of the nephew. Sorry it is cutting into your DIS time. :rotfl2:

***My DN is napping and DS is watching Shawn the Sheep, so now's the perfect time for an update! I think there's only going to be one more update after todays since it's our last day....:cool1::lmao:***

After finding DS’s lost Domo, we headed to the next booth, Florida

We went with the Florida Grass-fed Beef Slider – with Monterey Jack and Sweet and Hot Pickles and a glass of the Key Lime Wine

The slider was basic but the wine was pretty unique! I was expecting tart, but it was very slightly sweet and refreshing.

Next in line was the Hops and Barley Booth where we ordered the Lobster Roll with Lemon Herb Mayonnaise

Back in the Summer of 2011 B.C. (Before Calvin), we did a mini driving tour of New England and got to try a real Lobster Roll in Kennebunkport, Maine at a popular place called the Clam Shack and it was absolutely delicious. The one served here at F&W…meh. It was a bit rubbery and should have come with lots more mayo to help the sandwich out. But glad we still tried it.

What’s next?!

Now this booth…was interesting. It was Italy and the guys working the booth had some…um…cojones. Seriously. These guys were as forward as could be and did not care. DH and I stood in a short line of maybe 2 people in front of us when I realized I left our passport in the stroller so he went to go get it. By this time, it was my turn to order and it was 3 male CM’s running 2 registers, no one behind me. All 3 of them start speaking to each other in Italian and I have no idea what they’re saying but they’re smiling and it’s just awkward…for me at least. And the conversation went like this.

CM1: What would you like?
Me: A Ravioli and A Cannoli
(immediately after I said that, no break)
CM2: Where are you from?
Me: California
CM3: I wish they all could be California girls
CM2: Was that your Boyfriend? What a lucky guy!
CM1: You’re really cute! Oh, that will be $X.XX

WHOA, what just happened? The whole conversation was just awkward and confusing. I felt like I was being bombarded and to make it even more awkward, DM decided to come stand behind me in line to give me my passport right in the middle of the conversation. Luckily for me, she paid no attention:lmao: I gave them my card, got a stamp, grabbed the food as quickly as I could before they could say anything more in front of my DM and ran back to where DH was sitting. We waited for DM to get her food and moved to a place where we could all sit comfortably and on our way to a sitting area, one of the CM shouts out to me, “I hope you’ll come back and visit us soon!” right in front of DH and DM. :faint:

When we sat down, I told DH about what happened and he said, “That’s pretty funny. Guess you’re not cute enough though to get a free cannoli out of it, huh?”

After that craziness, I was ready to start eating.

The Ravioli is massive! It doesn't look big in the picture, but it's like a 4.5 X 4.5 inch square that's really deep. It can easily be a meal in itself. It was delicious and super hot!

The cannoli was good too (the best one i've ever had was in Boston!), but the ravioli was the real winner here

continued from previous post

I forgot to add this, so I’ll add this here. We had ADR’s at Rose and Crown at 5:40 but cancelled it earlier that morning. Good thing we did, we were beyond stuffed at this point.

It was around 5 now and DM was pretty tired and wanted to call it quits and suggested that if we take her back to the hotel, we can have the rest of the night off. YES!!!

As we were walking through Mexico towards the front of the park, we saw a lonely Photopass photographer with nothing to do, so we put him to work

Before making our way out of the park, we stopped at Mouse Gears to make some purchases, not including these

Has anyone bought these before? Wondering how the Turkey Leg smells :crazy2:

We took the monorail back to BLT, changed DS for the night and left right back to Epcot. Why? Because there was 2 things I needed to do. One of the reasons we had made ADR’s at the Rose and Crown was so I could get Fish and Chips. Since that didn’t happen, the Yorkshire Country Fish Shop was definitely happening. The second reason was to do this

But first we needed to get back to the far end of the World Showcase to ensure that my Fish and Chips were still available.

I took some very rushed photos along the way

This is to prove how much I needed/wanted those F&C’s in my life:rotfl:

Mission accomplished!

While I waited in line, DH hit up a food booth. He went back to Greece to get 2 gyros. I’m telling you guys, that was probably the winner of the F&W!

Even though we had just made the trek all the way from BLT, we thought it’d be best to just ride SE and call it a night. I was fine with that honestly. It was so nice to take in my surroundings of Epcot without having to push a stroller or change a diaper or make a bottle. So on to SE we went!

Wanna know my favorite scene? It’s the Michelangelo scene

I love the ‘Hallelujah’ song that is played here just briefly.

Let’s see what our future holds!

Well, apparently in our future, it’s just me..

Me and some other person

With half a face.

This place would be amazing to visit, preferbably not solo though

Wait I found DH! In the middle of the ocean of course!

At least we get back together at some point. We can’t live without each other

After SE, we took the monorail back to BLT to call it a night. Tomorrow we were going back home.

Up next...Last Days are never fun....ever!

Not cute enough for a free canoli? :lmao: That DH! :rotfl: Serisouly, Italian men are the worst. Followed by Caribbean men I think.

I liked the ravioli but didn't think it was anything special. It was good though. Now those fish and chips are worth going back for! popcorn:: How nice of DM to take care of DS and you guys had another free night.

Bummer about the lobster roll. It didn't look like there was any mayo on there at all.

Oooh, I see a chocolate stout on the menu. I know what I'm getting! :drinking1

Seriously. These guys were as forward as could be and did not care.

Wow. I'd like the ravioli with a side of obnoxiousness?

WHOA, what just happened? The whole conversation was just awkward and confusing. I felt like I was being bombarded and to make it even more awkward, DM decided to come stand behind me in line to give me my passport right in the middle of the conversation. Luckily for me, she paid no attention:lmao:

Well, don't feel bad. Usually my conversations with women go something like this:

:cool1::woohoo::banana:

Let’s see what our future holds!

Well, apparently in our future, it’s just me..

Me and some other person

With half a face.

I'm guessing it's one of the guys from the Italy booth after you drop-kicked him.:thumbsup2

Hi Alicia

I'm just catching up on this trip report, but I HAD to comment after I read about baby's first haircut... HE IS TOO CUTE!!!! You guys are a beautiful little family :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

...Now I'm going to continue reading :cloud9:

That's so nice of your mom to volunteer to let you have an evening out kid free. I know how much you enjoyed that time for your anniversary not having to deal with a stroller.

Italian guys, leave it to them. I was never groped more on bus than the time I rode it back to the hotel from the Coliseum in Rome. Back when I was young and much skinnier. Definitely rude.

I'm not sure that I got to Italy and had the ravioli, it does look seriously good! And I agree on the Lobster Roll, it just wasn't up to New England standards.

Oh my gosh the Italian CMs! Not cool!

Your F+W updates make me hungry. I wouldn't mind that ravioli right about now. Or those fish and chips. I actually googled it to see if I can even eat cod right now. Good news, yes I can! So now that's what I want for dinner :rotfl2:

So not only did this person in your future only have half a face, but it wasn't even DH!? That's so funny. But I'm glad you reunited in the ocean.

I really liked the slider - thought it was just a good solid version. I heard this past year they added a more interesting cheese to it and was supposed to be quite good.

my goodness those Italian guys! not the smarted response by your DH though :rotfl:

We got that ravioli too and can confirm that it is huge and very filling!

Ooh, very nice of your DM to offer you the night free!

love the "rushed photos to prove how much I needed me some fried fish" photos

I know how it is when you have kids that even getting to do mundane things (like shop, etc.) sans kids seems like such a luxury so I get how you were feeling that evening

That ravioli was no joke. It really did us in too. There were so many booths I didn't get to try because of that darned ravioli!

One of the booths I didn't get to try was the Hops & Barley booth. I was so looking forward to trying the lobster tail, clam chowder, & lobster roll. Luckily I've heard from several people that none of those were really up to par so I don't feel AS bad missing it!

Those fish & chips look amazing as well. I'm glad you and DH got an impromptu date night in, even if it was just for a couple of hours.
