Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Cannot believe these kiddos have already turned two on us! :sad2:

What a great party! Love all the Disneyland decorations, cake, snacks, etc. Really cute! Hope you are having a great time at the real one this weekend! :goodvibes

That Little People Day at Disney is awesome! I've never seen it before, but I will have to track one down for Izzy! :thumbsup2

Wow! I've gotten so far behind! I have to say that it was not me that recommended the Scottish Tart. I have never tried it, never got to Scotland, and the description didn't make me want to try it. Perhaps if they have it in two years, I will go for it.

I DID tell you that the cake at Ireland was awesome. I had the original version and the modified one and didn't really notice a difference, but a lot of people say then can tell the difference. Other than the sauce having a different color, I'm not sure.

Canada is one of my favorites, the filet, cheese soup and sausage make this one bang for your buck booth!

Calvin is so cute! He's got such curly locks! I hope that you are having a great time at DL and that it's not too hot. I have thought of you all day today as we drove out to Cerritos where it was much hotter than LB. I also hope the crowds are not too bad!

Happy Birthday Calvin
Wow, you throw the best birthday parties!
I remember the little man's first birthday - it had a Monsters Inc. theme right?
I adore the Disneyland decor, the banners are fab, I want them!
The cake is amazing!!! I love the Splash Mountain log :-)

Well.....if it wasn't you, then it must have been me talking about it on cook-out night. I love Banoffee Tart; so the one at Scotland would have been on my list to go try. :goodvibes

The party looks awesome! The banners, the desserts, the decorations! Amazing! No way I could ever even think of something like that.

Hope you had a fabulous time at DL!!!

The banoffee tart wasn't there this year :(

Wow, look at that hair! He's growing up on you... :rolleyes1

The party and the decorations look amazing. I'm sure you all had a good time with it. Especially Calvin. :thumbsup2

So much hair! It's getting to the point where we don't know how to styel it. I thought we could make it till January when we get his haircut at the MK, but not sure if that's going to happen.

Thanks!

Happy Birthday Mr. Calvin! He looks so proud (and big!) standing in front of the table!

Love, love the banner in the Disnyland Font - and all the posters! We have a calendar with those types of posters for WDW and I love them but not sure what to do with them when done - that was a great idea!

I love the vintage style poster. Wish I could keep those banners up all the time. Thank you!

Happy Birthday, Calvin!

I cannot believe how much he has grown and he is just too cute. What a great birthday party - well done, mom!

Have fun at DL this weekend. :wizard:

Thanks Karin! We had an amazing time this weekend. Was really hot but was a lot of fun and DS really enjoyed himself!

HB Calvin!

That's an amazing party and the decorations are just fantastic. Way to go, Leesha! And that cake is just gorgeous. Well done on it all.

Thanks PIO! My cake lady did such an amazing job with the cake, I was so happy when she texted the picture to me.

Happy birthday Calvin! He is so adorable! :)

Thank you Bonnie! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, he loves that toy so much! DH wasn't fond of it when I showed him the picture online but now he loves that he loves it. Now he's starting to add his other cars to go down the Casey's Train track :rotfl2: You can find it at Walmart.

I was given so much info that night about the kiosks, I couldn't keep who recommended what straight :upsidedow

It was HOT! Crowds were very manageable both days, but the heat was intense. It was actually cooler in Tulare those days!

Happy Birthday Calvin

Yes it was! Good memory :goodvibes Now we just need to have a girl so I can start doing cute girly parties :thumbsup2

She did such a great job with the cake! Couldn't have been happier with it.

Well.....if it wasn't you, then it must have been me talking about it on cook-out night. I love Banoffee Tart; so the one at Scotland would have been on my list to go try. :goodvibes

Yep, it was you then! :goodvibes

The banoffee tart wasn't there this year :(

Pinterest definitely helped me with this party :rotfl2: I couldn't come up with these ideas on my own, that's for sure!

Oh no! What happened with the Tart?!

After our break walking around the U.K. pavilion, it was time to get back into eating and drinking around the World, starting with the France booth

Escargot and Chardonnay, s’il vous plait

The escargots were good, but not as good as the casserole dish served at Chefs De France

While in France, I wanted to stop by the Wine Bar to see if they were still serving Toad Hollow Risque by the glass. It’s a delicious Sparkling Wine that’s super easy to drink and refreshingly perfect for the heat we were experiencing.

It was here, but sadly, they weren’t serving it.

We debated about buying a bottle, but we wanted to drink it now and it wasn’t chilled. So we went with other options

DH went with a Pinot Noir

And DM and I went with another type of sparkling that they were offering

We walked around the shop, browsing.

Turns out, DM bought me that lotion that you see in the picture. It’s a Jasmine scent that DH somewhat approves of LOL!

While we were walking out of one of the shops, I had seen a boy wearing these socks that I thought were pretty neat!

How about some more booths?!

I had already had a Belgium waffle that morning while at the MK and I know how much everyone loves that Potato and Leek Waffle, but it just didn’t sound appetizing at that moment. So beer it is!

DH had the Leffe Blonde and for me the Leffe Brune

Next up

DH really wanted to try the Steamed Green Lip Mussels with Garlic Butter and Toasted Bread Crumbs

Both of us really enjoyed this and were quite surprised with it. I thought it would be extremely chewy but it ended up being very tender and flavorful.

Morocco was next

I wanted something sweet so went with the Baklava. That’s always a good choice!

We checked out some of the shops in Morocco. I always take pictures in the carpet room, I don’t know why. Guess I have a fascination with rugs!

Next up was Japan

Where we shared the Spicy Hand Roll – Tuna and Salmon with Chili Pepper, Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil topped with Kazan Volcano Sauce

It was amazing! Dh ended up ordering another one. Had a nice, slight heat to it. Wonderful!

Of course, we had to shop around this pavilion. It’s one of the best pavilions to browse!

DM thought this was so cute so got Domo for DS

DM gave it to DS right after purchasing it and he threw it or dropped it without us knowing until we got out of the store. So we had to go back in and look for it. A CM had picked it up near the entrance and put it back where it belonged. The CM found it because the tag had been removed for DS so she gave it back without having to show a receipt. Didn’t think DS could cause problems while being strapped in the stroller. Guess I was wrong!

Bunch of more good booths! We've always found the escargot from the booths to be less than stellar - not bad, but not great.

We found the green lipped mussels to be pretty good but enjoyed the other things at that booth better. Especially the stuff that came with the sausage!

That toy is really cute and glad you got it back without any issues. Strollers can only slow them down - can't fully contain them! :rotfl2:

That Belgian booth was one of my most favorite overall. The leek waffle was so tasty, and the sweet ones were wonderful as well. You got some good choices from all the other booths.

OMG, your DS is such a little trouble maker! :rotfl2:

THIS is how F & W should be done! Yummy!!!!

I was so sad about that tart, I've heard such good things about that dessert. I must now make one for myself. Or go back to Scotland :scratchin

Awesome that there wasn't trouble getting the toy back, whew!

THIS is how F & W should be done! Yummy!!!!

I agree. Well paced approach to F&W. Love it.

I love that hand roll! OMG it is the BEST! Those mussels looks pretty darn good too!

My mouth is watering.

So glad you got the toy back. It is super cute.

Ugh, every update makes me want to go back to F&W! Interesting that they added a variety of waffles in Belgium, since they used to just have the berry one.

Kids are such little trouble-makers, huh? :rotfl: Glad you realized quickly that the new toy had been ejected and were able to get it back!

That was lucky about Domo! Glad you managed to get it back for DS.

Those NZ Mussels were surprisingly delicious, weren't they? You really did well grazing round F&W. :thumbsup2

BTW - I'll be in SoCal from Friday for about 10 days. So I'll catch up when I get back.

Sorry... this is going to be long because I was so far behind but now I'm caught up!

That was so nice that the gentleman next to you at WOC made people move from standing right in front of you. I think you should bring him to WDW on your next trip! Let’s see people try to cut you in line for PP now!

OMG THAT VIEW!!!!!
When you said you left the sliding door open so you could hear DCA in the morning, it seriously gave me chills. How amazing. I’m so jealous. All I heard when I woke up this morning was our radiators banging. Radiator Springs Racers would have been better!

Glad you liked HoB. DH and I did happy hour there at WDW and we had yummy drinks and delicious fried calamari.

The cabana by the pool looks so nice. And those lounge chairs do look super comfy.

Happy (belated) Anniversary! That dinner at Napa Rose looked incredible. If I wasn’t so nauseas all the time lately, I would be drooling for sure! ;)

It looks like you guys had a wonderful anniversary getaway. It’s so nice that you were able to spend such a lovely weekend together celebrating. DS is so big and so cute! The Sully pillow looks so soft and so comfortable. I want one, haha. DS is clearly loving it!

Okay back to WDW now…
That Scottish tart looked so yummy. Oh my gosh that Dragon Berry Colada was made for me. Seriously. You’ll never catch me ordering beer or wine but frozen drinks – yes please! I haven’t had Dragon Berry Bacardi in years but I pretty much drank nothing else for an entire summer down the shore. LOL memories…

Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter Sauce, oh how I miss thee. I was pretty devastated that it wasn't on the menu in August.

OMG the sully gif about the warm Irish pudding LOL. That looks seriously incredible.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALVIN! You did an amazing job with the party! Holy Moly that cake! It’s a masterpiece. I particularly love the marquee and Splash Mountain. I’m in awe of your rice crispy treats and I love how you dipped some of the ears in chocolate. Perfect! In the picture where DS is holding the R2D2 sippy cup he looks just like DH ;)

Your F+W updates are really making me want to take a fall trip one day.

Calvin's birthday looked like fun. Kaley got that little people disney thing for her birthday last week and loves it.

You managed to get to so many booths, can't wait to find out if you managed all of them! :)

Yeah... Learn fast! They can cause almost as many problems in a stroller as out of one!

You guys really hit the food stands full speed. A lot of good options there.

The Waffles or beer would be a tough call, but I think you chose wisely. I like your DH's new and improved method of double fisting. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'm glad we were able to try the escargot, now we know if we ever go to F&W again, we'll be skipping it.

So true about the strollers! :rotfl:

I remember you loving that leek waffle and I just couldn't do it! Hopefully we can get back to F&W someday and I swear to you i'll try it.

Just go to Scotland...too many dishes to clean up after in the kitchen :lmao:

You're telling me. Every time I look at the pictures I took of the booth menus, I ask myself, "Why didn't I try that dish too?!"

That was lucky about Domo! Glad you managed to get it back for DS.

So I did read the your whole reply, I really did. However, it was a little difficult to continue reading after I read this part:

If I wasn’t so nauseas all the time lately, I would be drooling for sure! ;)

:hyper:

Ummm!!!!.......

Am I over thinking right now?! Or no?!?!?!?!

:hyper:

I'm not going to get too excited until I go over to your TR!:hyper::bitelip:

Calving birthday looked like fun. Kaley got that little people disney thing for her birthday last week and loves it.

Aw Happy Birthday to Kaley! Is it sad that I love playing with it too?!:lmao:

Troubles of a first time parent, I tell ya. I'll learn with the next one...hopefully!

We needed to pick the pace up so we could meet our goal...hmm, or did we meet it? :scratchin

Double fisting is true happiness! :rotfl2:

Lol Alicia... You are not overthinking it. What you're thinking is right. I'm glad you went to sleep last night because that was 2am my time! I won't be posting anything about it in my TR for another month because I'm only 8 weeks. But I wanted to give you the inside scoop ahead of time ;) I can't even find the energy to post an update on the trip. Hopefully this weekend...
