Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Your vegas trip looks like so much fun. Beautiful room with a cool view.

Your black dress and your white dress are both so pretty. You look great.

Oh - and that fish bowl drink. That looks fun!

Thanks for sharing you Vegas trip pictures with us!

Welcome back! And thanks for sharing the photos! You look fabulous in all of them but I especially like the black one when you were at Cirque, yowza! I'm sorry you felt so bad :(

Yay for DH wanting to go back do soon! :cool1:

looks like a find trip (other than the smoke-headache). You all look so nice dressed up. Must have been fun to get dressed up that many times in a row for a change :goodvibes

Your room looks nice! Where else but Vegas can you see the Eiffel Tower right out your window! Well, possible at Disney World from an EPCOT resorts ... and Paris of course ... ok, so I guess there are a lot of places!

Still need to get to Vegas at some point, but we don't gable so just other places move ahead of it on the list of places to go

Welcome back
I was hoping to see a few photos from LV :)
You look gorgeous!! beautiful dresses

Glad you had a great time in Vegas. Great pictures. Hopefully you can do that jump if you go back in October.

What great photos! You and your hubby are a very striking couple. And what a way to spend your 30th Birthday. You don't look like you would be 30 at all! Not even close!

Love that view from BLT!

Looking forward to reading about the dinner at Artist Point, it's one that's been a consideration of ours for a while but we've never pulled the trigger.

Getting sick at Disney is the worst...hopefully it didn't have her down for too long!

Happy to see this update - I was actually just thinking of you earlier and wondering how Vegas went. Sounds like mostly good (minus the one night). Looks like fun, I haven't been there in a very long time. Great pictures! :thumbsup2 Oh, and hope you had a happy birthday - 30 is YOUNG! :goodvibes (strangely enough, my mom and I were discussing this earlier tonight - how everyone thinks they're "old" when they're 30 :rotfl:)

:rotfl2: I remember turning 20 and nearly 'dying' of how old I was! Oh geez how dramatic I was:lmao: It's so funny how people treat getting older differently. I know a girl who was turning 30 and was so depressed that her husband took her on two trips - one week to San Diego and one week to an all inclusive resort in Mexico. That's a good husband!

I had forgotten that you went to Las Vegas, I had kind of been wondering where you fell off the planet to! :rotfl:

It looks like you had a good time in Vegas and since your DH wants to go back, you must have had a great time. That's one thing about Vegas that sucks is all the smoke. We try to hit the smoke free sections in the Casinos. I can't really rewear any of shirts in Vegas either, by the second day, they reek of smoke.

Did you dine at any fancy restaurants? You look really nice in all the pictures.

As soon as we got home, every article of clothing went into the laundry, regardless of if I wore it or not. I had no idea that there were even non-smoking sections in casinos.

Nope nothing fancy unfortunately. We went to the buffet at the Bellagio the first night we got in for dinner. For lunch the next day we went to Burgr (Gordon Ramsay) over at Planet Hollywood and no dinner that night for me because I got sick. Lunch the next day was at Milo's at the Cosmopolitan and dinner we grabbed a slice of pizza over at that Hidden Pizza place at the Cosmo. Lunch the next day was at a buffet at the Golden Nugget.

I'm hoping we'll be able to do more dining on our next trip!

You sure look like you had a ball in Vegas! Aside from looking like you had a ball, you DEFINITELY looked like the belle of the ball. I loved all the dresses and clothes you wore on the Vegas getaway. Absolutely gorgeous.

And Happy 30th Birthday. 30 isn't so bad.....wait another decade or so.

Did it feel strange not having the little one around?

Aww thank you very much!

You know, DH thought he was going to have a very tough time that first day not having him around, but it was very nice. As mean as that sounds, it was nice not having to fuss with a stroller, worrying about nap time, about diapers, etc, etc! We love him to death, but need some adult time :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry we couldn't work it out to meet up! If you come back in October, we'll definitely get it together. I can tell you I won't have any wedding responsibilities to worry about then. It looks like you guys were having an amazing time, though! It sucks that you got sick during your show, did you enjoy it otherwise? I'm always wrecked after a night out on the strip. My voice sounds like an 80 year old chain smoker. The worst is when you get to bed after a night out and you want to shower because the smell of smoke in your hair is making you nauseous. How was Milo's? I haven't tried there yet. Your room at the Bellagio looked really nice! As it should per Bellagio standards. My husband used to work there and said it looks like they've recently refurbed. Always a bonus in my book. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves and that you plan to return. Start thinking about where you want to go and maybe we can plan a night out to dinner somewhere fancy =) Or totally reversed and do Vegas locals style off the strip. Bar Forte is delish... I've had that place on the brain for a few days now, I'll have to try to get there soon...

I felt terrible about not getting together! Things just weren't falling into place and i'm hoping we can get together this next time around. We're planning on hanging out a lot downtown next time so maybe that's where we can meet up!

Milo's was so delicious! Fresh and easy. Highly recommend that place!

Welcome back! Thanks for sharing the Vegas photos. What a great way to celebrate. Other than the night of the headache it sounds like you had a great time. :)

Your black dress from the Cirque show is very pretty. Actually, you look stunning in all the photos. :thumbsup2

Thanks Brenda! We had such a fantastic time, can't believe DH is set to go back already!

Great photos! All your outfits are so pretty. Nice job lady :thumbsup2

I think that's cool that your ex-BF hooked you guys up. Yay for the sneaky photo where we got to see him :)

Thank you! Yes he's an awesome friend. I thought it was so funny that our friend managed to get him in the photo, so when I got home and put all the photos on the computer, I saw him in the background and started laughing!

Looks like a great weekend and a nice way to celebrate the big 3-0. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well the evening of the cirque show, but I'm glad you recovered and got to enjoy yourself!

Thanks Andy! I'm hoping next time I won't waste a night by being sick.

Great photo update, Lesha! :goodvibes

It looks like you had a fab time in LV (apart from the headache one night).

I did have a fabulous time!

Your vegas trip looks like so much fun. Beautiful room with a cool view.

Thanks for sharing you Vegas trip pictures with us!

Such a fun time and I think the fun part was dressing up. Can't do that back at home, i'll look very out of place :rotfl2:

Thanks Pam. I definitely was not planning on feeling like that. But it's kind of nice that I'll hopefully get to make up for that evening the next time we go!

Exactly! If I were to dress like that back at home, i'd be very out of place:lmao:

That's what I was telling DH about the eiffel tower view. He knows it's my dream to get to the real thing someday and said I was content (for now!) with my fake eiffel tower view, but that he would have to step it up one day.

I think that's a good thing you don't gamble so you can use that money on better things like shows and food :thumbsup2

Welcome back
I was hoping to see a few photos from LV :)
You look gorgeous!! beautiful dresses

Thank you very much Linda!

Glad you had a great time in Vegas. Great pictures. Hopefully you can do that jump if you go back in October.

I'm still so bummed that I couldn't jump. I was really, really looking forward to it. I'll have to be better about calling more often to see if they're open or not next time.

What great photos! You and your hubby are a very striking couple. And what a way to spend your 30th Birthday. You don't look like you would be 30 at all! Not even close!

Thank you!!! :worship: I actually did get carded quite a bit over there. Especially from the pit bosses.

Love that view from BLT!

I'm just about done catching up on all my subscriptions so that Artist Point update should be later today or tomorrow! So sorry for being behind!

Looks like you had a great time!! You are so damn fashionable. I loved all of your outfits and hairstyles. I'm right behind you in turning 30. My DH turns 30 in a few months and I turn 30 next year and I'm already feeling anxious about it. I don't think 30 is THAT old, it's just that I feel like I just turned 20 and how is this possible!?!? and it scares me! Anyway you certainly don't look 30 and I'm so happy you enjoyed your trip! Happy birthday!

Aw thanks Heather! That's exactly how I felt too! Like it was just yesterday I was able to drink legally and now i'm 30. What the heck?! :lmao:

***I left us off going to the Wilderness Lodge for our dinner at Artist Point via boat from BLT***

Shortly we got off the boat and made our way up to the main house.

A terrible shot of the lobby

But DM was in awe of the lobby and she thought it looked similar to the lobby at the Grand Californian.

Here’s our final destination. I just love this sign.

We checked in a few minutes late but was no problem. There was hardly anyone there! They took us straight away to a table and gave us the menus, although we already had an idea of what we wanted. Just a heads up. Apparantely my eyes weren’t in focus for dinner so all my pics look terrible.

Our waitress came and took our food order and brought us our drinks. DS was ready for some food!

They brought us the bread basket

There was absolutely no question about an appetizer for me.

I fell in love with the Smokey Portobello Soup in 2010 and tried to replicate it at home once

It was good, but AP does it better!

I begged DM to try it and said it would probably feel good on her throat. She was amazed by the taste and ended up ordering a bowl for herself!

For DH’s app, he went with the Artisanal Cheese Selection

In 2010 I had ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and even though it sounded tempting, I wanted to try something else. I went with the Pan Roasted Alaskan Halibut with a Blue Crab Pierogi, Truffle Butter, Market Fresh Vegetables and Meyer Lemon Emulsion

The fish was so flaky and fresh. Delicious!

Because DM wasn’t feeling very good and wasn’t too hungry, she ordered a salad

DH was all over the “Berkshire” Pork Tenderloin - Beecher’s Flagship Reserve Cheddar Polenta, Baby Fennel, Black Mission Figs, Pearl Onions and Fig Reduction

DS tried a bit of everything and ate it all up

Dessert please!

We all shared two desserts: The Artist Point Cobbler and the Trio of Crème Brulee

DH picked a hot tea for DM to drink from their impressive loose-tea menu. I think we went with a Jasmine type and it was so good and DM agreed that it felt good on her throat.

Even though dinner was fantastic and the service was good, I really wished DM was feeling better so she could have had more food. We’ll need to have a redo for her.

It was a little past 8 by the time we left Artist Point and we were trying to figure out what to do. I suggested going back to the hotel, but DM wanted to go out and do something, even if it was for a little bit. So I suggested going to Magic Kingdom to do a few rides for DS, so we hopped a boat over to the MK!

Your mom is a trooper considering she really didn't feel well.

Your meal at AP looks so delish. Denny had that soup and really enjoyed it. I must try it the next time I eat there. I love the atmosphere and the service is so good.

Calvin is just too cute. He looks like he's ready to take a bite out of the side of the table!

Hope DM starts to feel better real soon.

Mmmmmm, Artist Point! So good! That soup and cheese plate and berry cobbler - had all those and YUM! Glad you guys had a good meal, though too bad your mom wasn't feeling that great. Calvin looks like such a little shorty in that high chair! :rotfl: (side note - why do table and high chair heights rarely match up? seems like there should be a standard table height or adjustable high chair height or something). I'm surprised your mom was up for something after that. I hope it was a good time at the MK for everyone! :goodvibes

Your mother is a real trooper! I can't believe that even not feeling well, she wanted to go out again. I would be so ready to go back to the room and go to bed.

I really want to try the soup and the berry cobbler, but none of the entrees really "pop" out at me. We are staying there next April, but won't get to Artist Point. We're not doing any Signature restaurants as our friends need to keep it a little lower key. Your entrees look nice, and I'm sure they were tasty.

I'm still getting over that you're only 30! :rotfl2: I'm not sure if you know what birthday party I'm celebrating next year at the VGC in a Grand Villa! :lmao: I hope that I have folks that want to come and celebrate!

Wow, your mother is so brave, hanging in there while not feeling well. :thumbsup2

Your dinner looks pretty yummy. Artist Point is such a great restaurant, we have had dinner there a few times and it never disappointed. :goodvibes

YUM! Great food. Love it!

Sorry your DM wasn't feeling well. She is a trooper for heading to MK afterwards.

Dinner looks really good - and "your" portable soup looks very professional!

The description of your main course sounds really yummy - love the idea of a blue crab pirogi!

Sorry DM still wasn't feeling well but what a trooper for wanting to keep doing things!

Dinner looks scrumptious! popcorn::

Poor DM, I hope she didn't feel bad the rest of the trip :(

I always love Wilderness Lodge. I've still not had a meal at Artist Point though. It looks fantastic.

It is a shame that your mom wasn't feeling great, but I've got to give her a ton of credit for being the one to suggest going to do something else after dinner! :thumbsup2

YOU MUST TRY THE SOUP! If we stayed at the VWL ever, i'm sure every night I would just take a bowl back to my room. Every. Night. Super delicious!

:rotfl2: I know! When I was doing the update, I couldn't believe how much bigger he has grown since! Now it's like he towers over tables

If there is anyway to take a bowl of the soup to go while you're there next year, please DO IT! It's so dang fantastic.

When is your bday?! :hyper:

Wow, your mother is so brave, hanging in there while not feeling well. :thumbsup2

Your dinner looks pretty yummy. Artist Point is such a great restaurant, we have had dinner there a few times and it never disappointed. :goodvibes

Yes definitely such a great restaurant! A very low key, laid back type atmosphere, which is great after a busy day at the parks.:thumbsup2

YUM! Great food. Love it!

I was shocked too that she wanted to trek on. Proud of that woman!

Oh you must get to AP one day. It is incredible!
