love the character meet photos! I can almost hear DS saying 'Kitty' to Sulley :cutie:

Those details around the queue area are cute, I've not seen those but always read the posters and pin boards at Monsters Inc Laugh Floor :goodvibes

Emma princess: x

Now I'm going to put on Monster's University while I finish packing, I loved that movie.

Ahhhh, I only saw Honey I Blew Up the Kid once. I love that they keep old props like that.

The pictures with Jake are ADORABLE!!!

I'm glad the bus situation worked out better for you guys than it did for us. Strangely enough, I just read another update tonight where the person with the baby was at the stop first and couldn't get on due to everyone pushing their way in. Luckily, someone also offered her a seat. What is with people rushing the buses and blocking the babies? :confused3

I love the picture of DS in the pre-show for the Backlot Tour. He looks like he's clapping and having a great time.

Speaking of pictures, you have some GREAT character meet pictures! Those ones with Jake are especially precious. And now I think I finally understand why they chose to make those characters "fur" characters rather than "face" characters - way more fun for the youngest fans to interact with!

Glad things went well and Calvin had a fun time!

Your character photos with Calvin are adorable. I almost called him Jake I'm so tired. :rotfl2:

Looks like you made some great memorabl moments! :thumbsup2

I thought Winnie the Pooh would be a good ride for everyone so that’s where we went, but someone thought it was still a good time to sleep

But he woke up as soon as we got in our hunny pot
Ok... I've just adopted my new park touring strategy. I'm going to sleep while someone else hauls me around the park and I'm just going to wake up when I'm in the ride vehicle. You've got a smart kid. :thumbsup2

We were finally ‘released’ from Pooh’s Thotful Shop in search of a quiet and peaceful ride. I’m not sure if IASW really fits those characteristics but we gave it a whirl.
Completely depends on your definition of "quiet" and "peaceful." :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I don’t even know why I bothered asking, there was no question that she was coming with us. That’s why I love her. She never complains about anything that’s wrong with her.
:thumbsup2 She's definitely a trooper. It can't be fun to feel bad at Disney World but I've got to give her credit for sticking with it!

We tried to hang back for a few minutes to let the people that were actually there before us to load first but people that had just shown up to the stop were making our way on. We went into survival mode and made our way on to the bus though!
I hate that... I'm kind of like you... let's be orderly and let the ones who have been waiting longer get on first. Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work. Hence the queues EVERYWHERE at Disney World.

Anyway, 40 minutes later we arrived!
 :scared: :crazy2: :faint: 40 minutes?????? Wow.

We finally made it to our destination (and I’m still not sure if we took the long way or short way :rotfl:) Can anyone tell me!?
Let's just be honest... there is no short way. There are only 2 long ways. :rotfl:

Uhh, did I mention I like Mr. Depp?
I think I got that vibe... :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::lmao:

To pass the time, I took some pictures of things you would see on a college campus!
Be careful. This is a family board.

Poor Mike, I was ignoring him to see DS’s reaction to Sulley
Poor guy never gets any respect...

Good job with the shots DM!:thumbsup2
::yes::

There was a decent line to meet Jake, but not as long as the line for Sophia :scared1: Guess I’m glad I only have a little boy right now. It really did take a while to see him because he took a break while we were in line, so it took about 20 minutes. But it was worth it for the pictures we got!
Let's see... DS was Jake for Halloween. DD just had a Sofia birthday party. Yeah, I see this taking a rather large chunk of our DHS time.

And your Jake meet looks awesome!!!! I'm glad that your DS was so excited about him!

Aww, your character photos are too cute!
The ones of Calvin with Jake are adorable :)

OMG soooo cute!!! The pics with jake are so cute, I can not wait to bring my little guy now! We go I'm September he will be 20 months at the time, so it should be a lot of fun!!

Uhh, did I mention I like Mr. Depp?

:rotfl2: Cute Picture!

I love the pictures of Calvin with Jake! OMG - he just looks SO happy! How precious!

I think that little museum area (or whatever its called) at the end of the backlot tour is very, very cool. Some great memorabilia.

I love the Monsters Inc characters. They are so fun!

All caught up!

I am FINALLY caught up again! :thumbsup2

I just love all the updates and this photo caught my eye!

;)

Calvin is so cute with the characters and you were able to fit in quite a few. Not to mention doing the backlot tour, which is such a nice tour even if you have done it before.
I can't believe Calvin just sat through it and wasn't scared. Brave little man! :thumbsup2

Oh, did I say that I am caught up and love your photos? :lmao:

It's always a little awkward with Mike as he is short and his arms are out wide

Super cute Jake photos - sounds like a great meet!

To answer your question -- YES we are in for late Sept/early Oct! Now that I have dining booked, there isn't much to plan ... just waiting! The DIS boards are helping me pass the time. I'm so excited beyond words to finally make it over to Florida.

I loved your photos of the Studio Backlot Tour. I definitely want to check that out when I'm there :thumbsup2

And I hear ya on the disposable cups on vaca. At home/work I'm really good about using and bringing re-usable cups, bottles, dishes etc... but on vaca I just want to relax. :)

Love the Jake pictures. You really are getting fantastic value out of your PP. :thumbsup2

Hi Lesha,

Great pictures of the Backlot Tour, I also love Flight of the Navigator and The Sound of Music, they were two of my faves growing up.

I absolutely adore your pics of Calvin with Jake :)

Awww that photo of Calvin with Jake (while wearing his Neverland Pirates shirt) is adorable. :) And he wasn't scared of Sully - he's a Disney fan in the making for sure! So much cute!

I had to get caught up so going all the way back to your Artist Point dinner... what a bummer that your mom wasn't feeling well but that mushroom soup is almost medicinal! I remember reading your review several years back for AP and I knew I had to try that soup. I just wish they would still serve the big bowl instead of the tiny portion now.

Great job capturing the cute details from MU while in line. They have similar props for the Laugh Floor I noticed last week.

BTW: I just booked my conference dates for July and I'll be at the Grand Californian the 15th through the 18th. :cool1: If your dates haven't changed we'll overlap. :)

Those Jake pictures are ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love all the little details that Disney does for us. I really appreciate them as i'm sure others do!

Now I'm going to put on Monster's University while I finish packing, I loved that movie.

I hope you had a fantastic time on your cruise and can't wait to hear about it!

Oh man, some people are so nuts! That's too bad that there are more and more situations like the one you had.

Oh totally about the fur characters! So much more fun for small babies!

Your character photos with Calvin are adorable. I almost called him Jake I'm so tired.

Looks like you made some great memorabl moments! :thumbsup2

Sadly, I've called him Jake a few times :lmao: We definitely did!

Ok... I've just adopted my new park touring strategy. I'm going to sleep while someone else hauls me around the park and I'm just going to wake up when I'm in the ride vehicle. You've got a smart kid.

I think Brenda just posted an idea on FB about making a "Man Pram':lmao: Sounds like you would be the one to use it!

I hate that... I'm kind of like you... let's be orderly and let the ones who have been waiting longer get on first. Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work. Hence the queues EVERYWHERE at Disney World.

Definitely! Too bad not all of us think like this.

Be careful. This is a family board.

Too true :lmao:

Let's see... DS was Jake for Halloween. DD just had a Sofia birthday party. Yeah, I see this taking a rather large chunk of our DHS time.

OH my goodness, you need to take them when you go! They would love it!

Aww, your character photos are too cute!
The ones of Calvin with Jake are adorable :)

Thanks Linda!

OMG soooo cute!!! The pics with jake are so cute, I can not wait to bring my little guy now! We go I'm September he will be 20 months at the time, so it should be a lot of fun!!

He'll have LOTS of fun with Jake! That's a perfect age. Even now at 19 months for DS, I could see him loving it even more now that he's older.

:rotfl2: Cute Picture!

DS was so happy to see Jake!

I remember rushing through the museum area back in 2008, just not caring, but now I really appreciate it and love it. Look how much i've grown in just 5 years!:rotfl2:

I am FINALLY caught up again!

I just love all the updates and this photo caught my eye!

Oh, did I say that I am caught up and love your photos? :lmao:

:rotfl2: I love Johnny! It's his acting skills that I love the most though;):rolleyes1

I'm surprised too that he wasn't fidgety on the tour. What a good kid I have! Hopefully he'll continue to be this good in January.

It's always a little awkward with Mike as he is short and his arms are out wide

Super cute Jake photos - sounds like a great meet!

:lmao: Yes about Mike.

It was definitely a great meet!

I finally saw your link to your TR (sorry I was so late btw). The planning part easy, it's the waiting that's difficult but it will be here so fast!

Love the Jake pictures. You really are getting fantastic value out of your PP. :thumbsup2

Totally agree!

Hi Lesha,

Great pictures of the Backlot Tour, I also love Flight of the Navigator and The Sound of Music, they were two of my faves growing up.

I absolutely adore your pics of Calvin with Jake :)

You don't hear many people talk about Flight of the Navigator, so it's cool when someone knows what you're talking about!:rotfl: Now I don't feel so alone!

Awww that photo of Calvin with Jake (while wearing his Neverland Pirates shirt) is adorable. :) And he wasn't scared of Sully - he's a Disney fan in the making for sure! So much cute!

Wait, did they recently change the soup portion at AP? Why they heck would they do that!?:sad2:

AND YES! We're still there the 14th-16th!:yay: Let's get together please:)

***When I left us, we just got done with our M&G with Jake***

Our timing was definitely right on. DS was starting to get sleepy from all the Jake action right as our FP+ reservation for RnRC was coming up. We knew DM wouldn’t want to ride RnRC, so DH and I went on ahead

Sorry no redneck photo. But I love this ride!

By the time we got off, were officially ready for some fuel. We did pretty good so far from showing up late at DHS this morning. Studio tour, two M&G’s and RnRC under belt before 12:00!

So where to for lunch? We all know DHS doesn’t have the best options for CS meals here, but we were not going to hop to another park at this point, so we were just going to have to make the best of it.

At first we were going to do Rosies since it was right around the corner from RnRC, but we had done dinner there in our December trip, so thought it best to try something new. The ABC Commissary was our best bet, even though it doesn't get the best reviews.

Our food

I ordered the Couscous Quinoa & Arugla Salad with Chicken, right below DH ordered the Chicken Bleu sandwich, and DH the 1/3lb cheeseburger.

My salad was surprisingly delicious and filling. DH took a bite and agreed that it was really good. His chicken sandwich was gone in minutes. We had eaten here back in 2008 and were less than thrilled with our experience. However, we both agreed that this was 100% better than last time and we’d definitely come back here again!

We stayed and sat for a good while relaxing and letting our food digest before our next FP+ at…

Yep. ToT! Right after lunch. Smart right? I know DM loves this ride, but can’t go on it right after eating, so DH and I went on first. When we exited, we waited right up until a few minutes before the FP+ was going to expire so DM and DH could go on. Of course DM came out smiling, even though she was still sick.

Did anyone notice that we did NOT order dessert at the ABC Commissary? I was waiting for something better. Something I didn’t make it on time to last time because this place closes early.

Starring Rolls Café!

I’ve read many things about the Butterfinger Cupcake, so I’ll take one please!

And an Apple Danish for DM

The cupcake was massive so I cut it right down the middle. Not sure which photo looks more scrumptious, so I’ll include both to torture you

DH took a bite of my cupcake and then gave me the “I hate you” look. I’ve received it quite often when I’ve made a dessert he loves, but hates it because he knows how bad it is. He helped me finish it along with DM. No matter how sick DM is, she’ll never pass up a sweet treat.

It was starting to get really warm out and thought we should see a show. The Little Mermaid show wasn’t too far from Starring Rolls, so went to check out the wait time. When we got there, there was a pretty long line but jumped in it anyway. DS was being very silly and laughing while waiting

They started letting people in not too much longer after those pictures were taken and we headed towards the back of the theater, just in case DS had an issue with the noise. But he really enjoyed the show! He was clapping, pointing and smiling the whole time. Even at the ‘scary’ parts:thumbsup2

After the show, we had no plans in particular so we started just walking and found ourselves over near Muppets 3D. Now I’m in LOVE with the Muppets. Always have been and always will be. DH and DM are neutral about them, but always shoot down my suggestions of seeing Muppets 3D (I think they got wore out from seeing it over at Disney’s California Adventure for so many years) So the next best thing is to explore the area and the shop outside of it.

Pretty sure this is the lobby from the Great Muppet Caper

Definitely the Happiness Hotel from the Great Muppet Caper

I wouldn’t mind having this sign on my bathroom door when I’m taking a bath!

There’s no better band than Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, IMO

Gonzo…always causing shenanigans

I felt more at ease knowing I did something with the Muppets and agreed to move on ahead to somewhere I know DH would just love!

Yeah, not really! Lol definitely something I love!

After our quick 2 minute tour through the Christmas shop, I apparently wasn’t done with the Muppet area

DH thought it would be cute to put DS down in front

A Butterfinger cupcake!!! Can you see me giving you that "look" from over here???

Those are fantastic pictures of DS with the yellow paint splat. Love them!

I know ABC Commissary gets inconsistent reviews. I've always liked the salad offerings there but the decor is just so bland. Glad you enjoyed your meal.

What a good kid I have! Hopefully he'll continue to be this good in January.
Yep... an obvious sign that he's your first child. Good luck with that one... :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

We knew DM wouldn’t want to ride RnRC, so DH and I went on ahead
I love that ride. :thumbsup2

I’ve read many things about the Butterfinger Cupcake, so I’ll take one please!
It is good, but I've got to say that I prefer the Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake. A combination of 2 of my favorite foods ever. :thumbsup2

And I don't care how big it is... I'm not sharing. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Now I’m in LOVE with the Muppets. Always have been and always will be. DH and DM are neutral about them, but always shoot down my suggestions of seeing Muppets 3D (I think they got wore out from seeing it over at Disney’s California Adventure for so many years) So the next best thing is to explore the area and the shop outside of it.
Come on!! You can't just skip the Muppets!!! It isn't like you're wasting a large chunk of your day to do it!

There’s no better band than Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, IMO
::yes::

I felt more at ease knowing I did something with the Muppets and agreed to move on ahead to somewhere I know DH would just love!

Yeah, not really! Lol definitely something I love!
Ok, I'm a little conflicted here. I kind of want to feel bad for your DH for being dragged to 2 things in a row that he really wasn't interested in... but one of those things was Muppets and lack of interest is almost inexcusable. But then you went to a Christmas shop and there's not really anything worse than that... Yeah, I guess I'm on his side on this one still. :lmao:

Ummmm yeah I'm with DH on the butterfinger cupcake!!! I would hate how good it was too :)

I love both RnRC and ToT!

The cupcake looks really tasty, but pretty huge. I know I couldn't finish it if it were me!

The pictures of your DS in Muppet Land were very cute. I can't believe your DH doesn't like the Muppets! I will admit that perhaps they could update the movie, but it's still great fun!
