Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Sounds like a fun evening! Lots of great PP as well, which is nice to get some with just the two of you

That's cool they let you kinda make your own sampler at Tutto Gusto! I love doing stuff like that - especially on date night ... just go to a place you can lounge and get a drink and nibble on snack, etc.

Sorry to hear that the next day wasn't good for DM :worried:

I had that margarita and thought it was really yummy! :thumbsup2 I also tried the Zapiekanki, which was very good.

I like your spot for Illuminations. You got a nice view. :thumbsup2 We had a similar view in March and I enjoyed it!

Yay for Tutto wine bar. That place is so cute. Denny has yet to go in there. I definitely must change that. :thumbsup2

Cute PP pics.

And what is this about you losing your good sportsmanship? :rotfl2:

Wow, that sounds like a perfect Disney date night! Food and Wine, great view of Illuminations without a long wait, and Tutto Gusto (which I still have not been to!) The whole thing sounds great. Well, except for your DM not having a good tomorrow. :sad2:

Great night out! You seem to have fit quite a bit in and to end the evening with a little nibble at Tutto Gusto is the perfect way to end your evening.
We went to Tutto Gusto last summer and had a tasting plate and it was AWESOME. I think Tom did some wine tasting, but I vividly remember the Pinot Grigio - it was to die for.

Okay, can't wait for more. :thumbsup2

What a great ending to the day! :)

I think I'm the only person on here that doesn't like Illuminations :duck:

Not good forshadowing for DM :(

I don't think a more perfect date night ever existed than food and drinks in Epcot with fireworks :lovestruc

That Polish cheesy bread looked amazing... until I saw it covered in ketchup :lmao:

This is my reenactment reading the description:
Mushrooms! Onions! :yay: Cheesy Bread! :hyper: Ketchup!? :headache:

LOL!

I just noticed the Churro shirt DH has on! Every time I see that at WDW, I always think of you guys after reading one of your previous TR's! :)

My DH loves that fountain too!

What a relaxing way to end the night...wine and cheese..yum! :dance3:

I just told DH the other day when we were at Target looking at guys shirts, that he was DEFINITELY getting a new Disney shirt for this trip:lmao:

Tutto Gusto looks like such a neat place to chill for a while. Cheese can be really filling! I can't wait to try it someday. We didn't get to Poland on that trip. There's just too many things to try which is why we have to keep going back! :thumbsup2

You must get there someday please!

Oh my gosh! I want some of that. Poland = check! I'll have to remember that one.

Awww that's so cool! WoC is really awesome too. :thumbsup2

I finally stopped by Tutto Gusto in December and it was better than I expected.

I love the Wallace and Gromit gif. That brings back such good memories similar to your Yanni reference - we used to watch W&G videos together when Em was little.

Going back to your DH's PP clowning at DHS earlier in the day... Please give him a pat on the back for me! That was awesome entertainment. I especially love the magic shot with Tink.

I love the ambiance of Tutto Gusto especially in the evening. Has a romantic, chill vibe.

Yay for a Wallace and Gromit fan! My Dad is the one that introduced my brother and me when we were young and I introduced it to my DH who thinks it's adorable.

Great date night. Fireworks, photos and amazing food. You got some great PP shots of you and DH.

Really? Oooh! I love finding things like this where we need to use a universal translator.

Thank you! I know I actually like when I read your TR and you use a saying that I have no clue about and looking it up. :)

Well, I think the call of the ditch would have been too hard for me to resist, but it looks like it was an enjoyable evening, regardless.

All that for an hour and a half in EPCOT... and only 2 F&W booths?

Oh well, you made the most of it!

uh oh...

I agree, the Ditch is hard to pass up, but Tutto was an excellent replacement:thumbsup2

I so agree! It was the perfect date night. We didn't get much 'done' but relaxing with great wine and cheese is amazing!

You and Denny need to visit Tutto together! It's so romantic and relaxing. :goodvibes

Aw geez, you'll see when I make that next update:rolleyes1

You'll need to make a visit there someday! I know it's tough with a little one, especially now that they're getting older, but it is so nice and relaxing.

What a nice way to end your day!!!

I agree!

I'll need to remember the Pinot Grigio for next time if you recommend that! I enjoy both whites and reds equally!

What a great ending to the day! :)

I think I'm the only person on here that doesn't like Illuminations :duck:

WOAH! How does that even happen and how are we friends?! ;):rotfl2:

Love the pictures. Illuminations is one of my favorites at Disney.

Mine too:goodvibes

:lmao::rotfl: Exactly!!! Couldn't have had more perfect ingredients together right? Well, maybe some bacon would have been good here too!

Before I post a TR update, I thought i'd give a little side-TR to our visit to Monterey Bay last week.

DH is currently coaching the Summer baseball program, which means lots of practices and games over the Summer when he would normally be home. He's in complete control over the dates and times of practices and games/tournaments. The only thing we needed to agree on was that he would make time for small trips with DS. And one of those trips was to head North about 3 hours to take DS to the Aquarium and the beach. Done!

So last Wednesday after his morning practice, we left our town around 1 and made it to Monterey around 4:15pm. There is a very popular park up there known as Dennis the Menace park and it has the best reviews on TripAdvisor so after the long car ride, we decided to head there after checking into our hotel to let him run around

BTW, i'm not going to be very wordy. More pictures, less words:thumbsup2

A pretty cool bush maze

Going out onto Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. He's really into waving now

A fun candy/sweet shop

The next day we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. One of the BEST aquariums i've ever been to. I've heard really amazing things about the Atlanta aquarium though so hopefully one day I can check it out.

Trying to get a shot of all of us in the car, but just managed to get me and DS

I'm going off on a tangent for a sec. The other day on Facebook (which reminds me, please be my friend if you aren't already! https://www.facebook.com/alicia.johnsoncrow) there was a question that my friend had asked about children and 'leashes'. I had no idea how hot that topic was. I remember in my naive, pre-parent years, I would think, "Why don't you just hold your childs hand and MAKE them stay by you? Why make them look like a dog?" :rolleyes1 Annnd then came along DS. He doesn't want to hold your hand, he wants to run off, when you try to grab his hand/arm he'll throw himself to the ground, etc, etc. And now that I have some minor lower back pain (from the pregnancy) bending over to chase him just sounds exhausting. So for the record, we are pro-harness backpacks:thumbsup2 I find that every one has different situations and if you like them, great. If you don't, great. I'm embarrassed that I had judged parents for using those backpacks. I was clueless. Not that I don't think any of my DIS friends here care what we do, I just wanted to give my opinion on the subject, since there were some pretty harsh words on that matter. Rant over:goodvibes

Once at the Aquarium, we decided to take him out of his stroller and put his monkey backpack on

He only wore if for about 15 minutes because we found we had to pick him up a lot to see things...get used to being a shorty kid. And he did pretty good with holding our hand today :thumbsup2

This is cool. The replicate what it looks like to be under a big wave

I think DH got scared:lmao:

It's loud but really neat!

Outside, I think they're having snorkeling/scuba lessons. Or training new employees? Not sure, but it was cool

Snack time!

The Jelly area is the coolest!

So my family is not in this, but I think this is the coolest shot! The silhouettes, the sun shining, the fish.

They have the BEST play area for little 'seahorses'

He passed the height test!

Blurry but they have a little crawling cove tunnel for little ones and they have windows looking into 'Finding Nemo' fish

continued from previous post

Yeah, DH is a little big for this

They also had a pools for little kids that had different sea plants that they can feel, but we skipped that area. We could have easily spend an hour just in the children's area, DS was having a blast!

Last was the sea otters who were very playful

We of course had to go into the shop to buy DS something

He liked the Puffin more than the Octopus. What do you think?

Goodbye Octopus

We spend a little over 3 hours here but could have spend more if we really wanted to. I highly recommend coming here if you're ever up in this area.

After the aquarium we decided to hit up Cannery Row

Wine tasting

Soccer was on so we decided to grab a late lunch

There was a Ghiradelli shop so this one's for you Pam!

Saw this sign and couldn't refuse

continued from previous post

The next day we went to a town called Carmel-by-the-Sea. They have the best little village and beaches ever! Beach time

That golf course back there, is the one and only Pebble Beach

There's DM watching us

DS was absolutely loving the sand!

Yep. Loving it!

Milk break

So it looks like DH is trying to protect his head from the sun. Nope! He's on the iPad playing Candy Crush :lmao:

DS didn't like that so he started throwing sand on DH's leg

This was cute. DS saw a dog and started chasing after it

Can you see the dog? It was a pug! I'm sure he thought it was our pug Percy!

We were there for a little over 2 hours. The day couldn't have been more perfect. It was in the low 70's with a light breeze. Absolutely gorgeous out. We packed everything back into the car and started to drive. But when we went around one of the corners there were some cars stopped and people taking pictures so we pulled over to look too.

There were 5 or 6 dolphins just swimming around very close to the shoreline! Awesome way to end the trip!

I'll be posting a real update tomorrow, after I play catch up!

what a fun update! Also fun to see how much your son has grown just since your Disney trip

That park looks like a ton of fun as as as the aquarium - especially the kiddie area!

Oh, and based on the coaster he is holding your son has very good taste in beer! ;)

Sounds like a lovely time!

What an absolutely fun and relaxing weekend! Awesome aquarium, gorgeous beach, quality family time, and COOKIES! popcorn::

That park looked great too, steep slides!

I was worried that was the reaction I'd get :rotfl: I just can't get into it, I don't like the lasers.

:rotfl: It's okay, I still like you. Now I just know if we ever meet up at WDW again, we won't be watching Illuminations :thumbsup2

We all had such a blast at the aquarium. Worth the 40 per person:scared1:

Lagunitas has some amazing beer! I know I had a brown ale at the restaurant but don't think it was made by Lagunitas.

Yes! The cookie was definitely one of the highlights :lmao:

looked like a great weekend - DS is getting so grown up! :cutie:

Emma princess: x

I know! It's so weird to be writing a TR from October and seeing how much he has grown till now. So sad!

That looks like a fun family weekend. I'm glad that you're able to get a few of those in during the summer. That's a great idea!

Calvin sure is getting big.

Oh and about that harness/leash thing. Who in their right mind... :rolleyes1

Totally get it. DD is extremely independent and if she gets in the right frame of mind, she doesn't want to hold hands and will do nothing but try to pull away. We don't have a harness, but we've talked about getting one.

I think vacations are so important. I remember family trips when I was younger and am so grateful for those trips and sacrifices my parents made to take us on trips to DLR or the beach. From what DH said, in his younger years, his family was too involved with sports so Summer was all about travel ball and spending thousands there. I want DS (and any future children!) to go and see places.

This guy was pretty much saying that we're not parenting correctly if we don't know how to control our child:rolleyes: :rolleyes2
