Food and Wine Festival

We are planning a short trip to the world in October. We will be going to MK one day and also doing the MNSSHP one night. We would like to go to AK one day. I am not sure if I will be able to fit Epcot in. I have heard good things about the Food and Wine Festival, but other than the food and wine, what would I be missing?

We love going in Oct.! You will have a great trip! However, I would say skip Ak and go for Epcot. Just in my opinion though...we dont' care much for AK and love Epcot. The food and wine festival is neat, I think, because there are so many little carts with specialties from other countries. I loved seeing all the different foods. However....since your question was what else would we be missing....Figment, The Land, The new ride Soarin', Test Track, Spaceship Earth, The World Showcase with all it's culture and excellent restaurants and shops, Maelstrom, El Rio Del Tiempo, Illuminations....lots in my opinion! Epcot and MK make the trip to WDW for DH and I. It's a really awesome park, and I would hate for you to miss it!

Don't forget the many FREE food demonstrations and wine tastings. A little education and sometimes a lot of entertainment.

We went to 15 or 20 days of the Food and Wine Festival this past year. I think we went "around" twice. Many times, we never even went to any of the food stands.

I never saw the free demonstrations and food!! Wow! I have something to look for this year....

Last Oct. we did a mid month trip for Food & Wine, and MNSSHP. We did the Food and Wine 2x's on a Tues/Wed? and on the following Sat. The free Champange tasting, free Sam Adams beer and Auzzie.Wine tasting were wonderfull... my DH doesn't drink a lot ( or even a little most of the time...) so I HAD to drink or eat his extra stuff... It was so hard... hahah! The mid week trip to FandW was very much less crowded. My DH is a very picky eater(meat, potatoes and no rabbit food) and even he found a ton of stuff he liked to eat. We have been going down for MNSSHP but added the Food/Wine and now we will go for Food/Wine and add the party. Don't miss it if you can help it. And if you like food a lot there is a booklet that is sold in one of the Pavallions during the festival that has a lot of the recipies for the food you but in the booths.
