we are heading to the food & wine fest next month. What are the costs? Any information would be greatly appreciated, as well as tips.

The food you can expect to pay from $3 to $5 per plate for, the wine is about $5 to $6 per (small) glass. The portions are rather small too, just so you know, it won't be cheap, but it's fun!

There are about 25 booths and most sell 2-3 different foods. Each item is $2-4 per plate. There are also samples of beer and wine at the booths and some have non-alcoholic drinks as well (Mexico had watermelon juice, etc.). We usually get a plate of each food at each booth and share it. Then, if there is something somebody really likes we might get another order of that item.

You can easily spend more than $100.00 if you do a lot of sampling. Some people prefer to break it up over a couple of days and others do as much as they can in one visit.

Hope that helps.

I would like to know more about this too. We're going in 4 weeks and will be there for the beginning of the food and wine festival. How does this work? I'm trying to decide where to make our Epcot PS, but since I'm not sure exactly what the food and wine festival is I don't know what to do.

The Food and Wine Festival is an event held every Fall at EPCOT. Booths are set up around World Showcase that represent the existing countries and several others (New Zealand, Arica, Australia, Russia, etc.) Each booth serves 2-3 different foods from the country it represents, along with wine/beer/soft drinks from that country. Foods cost $2-4 per plate and are appetizer-sized portions.

My advice would be to leave a night or afternoon free for the festival. YOu can easily fill up on all there is available...in fact it would be difficult to try everything in one afternoon/evening as there is quite a lot of food.

BTW, for anyone with little kids...the festival is a great way to get kids to try new foods. We took DD and DS when they were 6 & 3 and the rule was that they had to try a bite of everything but didn't have to have a second bite of anything. There was only one thing they didn't like and since then they have been willing to try any new foods they come across.
