Would you add the dining plan if you are only going a couple of days and go for F/W fest. My sister and I are thinking about taking a few days off from work and flying down to do the food and wine fest. I know we would like one good meal each night but not really sure we would need the dining plan since are focus is really to go to F/W. and how hard are ADR's to get while F/W is going on as we don't know if we will want to book something each night and just try to wing it. Or book a ADR and cancel it if we choose that we may not need a sit down meal. just wanted some ideas for those who go during food and wine fest.

I've done the dining plan with the F&W Fest serveral times. The F&W kiosks are a great use of your snack credits. Typically I saved up my snack credits and used several in a day when hitting the kiosks. We've also never had a problem using our TS credits for a good dinner every night. ADR are no easier or harder to get during F&W. If you want to do some popular TS places, you should still plan at 180 days out if possible.

But, I think I've always had a leftover CS credit or two during F&W. That's due to the fact that after eating around the diffrent kiosks, I was never hungry for a large CS lunch.

Probably the best way to use the dining plan during F&W would be to use the CS for a very early lunch or CS breakfast. Use the snack credits and out of pocket for the F&W kiosks, and then plan for a late TS dinner. Again, CS credits seemed to be the only issue trying to use up

This year we're doing the F&W Fest without the Dining Plan to compare how things work out.

Love the Food & Wine Festival. Wouldn't do any dining plan since we love to graze around the World several times. There have been days when we hit it early for lunch (when they open) and then again at dinner. I wouldn't even do any ADRs and just graze (especially since you are only there for a couple of days).

Yes, we did it and we got the Counter Service Dining Plan. We each got two snacks per day, and we used them all at the food and wine festival kiosks. No matter the price, the food items were a snack credit.

We had $9 lobster rolls for one credit. Oh, and the cheese plate from Ireland and the bread pudding from New Orleans.

It was a great use of our credits.

We had so much wonderful food that we did not miss eating at Table Service.

We did CS breakfast at the resort, did a snacking lunch, and then had a Counter Service dinner. Yummy. We ate at Yakatori House, Sunshine Seasons, and Tangerine Cafe.

I think each day we got between $16 and $12 dollars worth of snacks, had our mug, and two nice counter service meals. We got a lot of bang for our counter service meal plan bucks.

We did purchase several things out of pocket, but usually got the less expensive dollar amount items with cash and used our snack credits for the yummmy things like Escargot at the French Kisok.

I would be more likely to do no plan at all because, although I haven't been to Food and Wine, I know myself and I would probably get STUFFED from all the booths. I wouldn't want to force myself to eat a meal because it was paid for.

We always get the dinning plan. It seems to me that we never take advantage of the booths during the wine and food festival because we are to stuffed. I wouldn't have thought of it, but the CS plan does sound like a good way to go.

We get the DDP because we use the snack credits to have lunch at the F&W kiosks, then plan a late TS dinner (around 8PM). We use the CS credits for lunch on days when we're not at Epcot.

We do not do the dining plan when going to Food & Wine Fest. We go for at least 3 days and just do the F&W fest. We like to divide the world into three parts and hit one each day. It is just hubby and myself and we do pick up one of each offering (there are usually 2 to 3 - most offer three - food items per booth) at each booth and share. We actually end up eating enough with the "tastings" so that we only need to have a light breakfast. CS or TS credits would be worthless to us and there aren't enough snack credits in the dining plan to make it worth our while.

We always do the DDP at the F & W fest and it works great for us. We "Nosh Around the World" several different days. We have park hoppers and end each day at Epcot.
We usually do 1 TS lunch at a park, and that evening we just use our credits for dinner. We save a second nights TS credit and eat at the booths, but use that unused credit to combine and we do a Signature another night.
We feel it is a great use of the DDP

Thanks Everyone! We are going to go with no dining plan and eat around the world and if we want a CS or TS we will just see whats avaliable those days as of TS. The only TS we will use will be for the day we do hollywood Studio and MNSSHP.

Just for a point of reference, there were about 26 booths last year - and if each had a minimum of 2 offerings (a lot had 3 offerings) that would be more than 52 different items - not including drinks (alcoholic).

We have done the food plan the last 4 years while we were at the F&W fest. We take light breakfast items and usually eat an early CS and have 2-3 snacks, and have a later TS dinner. We usually stay 8-9 nights, so we have a decent amount of snack credits, and we usually share the different items. We also usually pick were we want to try something before we get there and do the F&W fest 2-3 times while we are there. Have a great time!

thanks I still don't know what to do

My wife and I have gone the last three years and had the dining plan each time. PP"s are right, save your snacks for the food kiosks at the F&W Fest. Before you go print out a copy of the menu's and make sure to use your snacks for the most expensive items (such as the lobster roll at the Boston/American) food kiosk. Use your CS meals however you'd like. But the best way we've found is to use our CS meal for breakfast the day we go to the F&W Fest the eat eat eat all day and don't use a TS meal. Save that for another night where you can eat at a signature restaurant. It really works out well. The only way I would not get the Dining plan is if I were going to the F&W Fest for more than 1 day, then it's not worth it. But, if your like us and go for like 3-4 days and only plan on using 1 of those days at the F&W Fest then the dining plan is an excellent choice.
