Food allergies and concierge lounge

Part of the problem here is getting in touch with the right CM to give you the information. A reservation CM *cannot* guarantee you that you'll have allergy-free foods or advise as to how foods are prepared and delivered to the concierge lounge ( if there's a chance of cross-contamination, etc). You would need to speak directly with someone in concierge at the resort where you are planning to stay or perhaps with Brenda Bennett or someone in her department. If it were me, I'd want to hear it from the concierge CM's as they are the only ones who can deliver what was promised, if anything. I don't think anyone said anything about entitlement- while we are not entitled to having special foods prepared for our family members in the lounge, we are entitled to information.---Kathy

Prior to making our BC CL reservation, I contacted Special Diets and asked if they could accomodate my kids specific allergens. Special Diets forwarded my info to the BC CL Team Leader. She contacted me and told me they could. She listed various items they serve at different times of the day that would be safe for them and what to avoid. She also let me know that if we needed something beyond the regular offerings, I could contact the dining manager and those items would be made available to us. Based on the list provided to me, I don't forsee us needing anything else, but it was nice to know they provide that additional service. I also talked to a BC CL CM after we made our reservations and he said he made a note on our reservation and that the dining manager would be notified. He also told me to give them a call about a week before our trip to confirm everything. I don't expect the lounge to whip up special meals for my kids several times a day. It was important to know that what they offer includes a variety of things that they can eat and that the lounge isn't some sort of allergy death trap for us. If they had told us, sorry, we can't help you, that would have been fine. We'd still go to Disney, just not CL.
