I now I'm in good shape when my email from the flylady tells me to do something tomorrow that I had already done today. That's been happening a lot

Wow!! I didn't realize I would run into other flyers here. Although, I am still a flybaby, haven't quite gotten to the point where I am doing things before she tells me too. I have to admit though, this is the cleanest my house has been in 5 years, and I was even able to have Christmas dinner at my house this year without having a coronary first.

Woot....you know you are doing good!

I need to start doing that again.

its a site where they help you get your house in order so you do a little at a time and don't feel overwhelmed by it. I tried it for a while, but the the emails overwhelmed me more than my house did. Its great if you are home during the day, but I didn't like coming home to all the emails reminding me of all the stuff I didn't get done!

I've been considering signing up again lately. This house just overwhelms me at times.

But I'm a multi-time FlyLady dropout. It is good to know it can be done Jenny. :thumbsup2

Check out www.flylady.net

I am currently getting the e-mails, but they go into a Flylady folder that I have set up in my e-mail account. That way I can go in and delete them all when they start to accumulate. Other times I've opted out of the e-mails (via the yahoo groups site) and just done the things that are habits to me (the timer set for 15 minutes of work is a big one for me) and looked on the website for what area of the house is being worked on that week.

Flylady has really helped me get my act together. In general my house is presentable enough to not be embarrassed when someone stops by unannounced. :teeth: It's a work in progress, though and I wish it would just stay clean! Not happening with my kids and all my pets.

I can't explain how much flylady has helped me and my home as well!! If the email are too much, you don't have to get them, just go to the website or get them in digest form, one email a day. To me they are little kicks in the pants to get off the computer and get going!!

I agree!!

A friend of mine introduced me to it, but she's home all day. I love that my sink is clean, but I'm still having trouble getting DH and the kids on board with everything. I tend to be organized and a neat nik in the first place. THEY are the ones who need the help!! :lmao:

I love flylady. My house is clean and has been for a month, which is great and the longest I have ever gone without feeling overwhelmed with it. Of course it still needs more but you can't do it in a day. :) E-mail wise I get the daily digest so I only get one e-mail a day that is much easier for me to read, and deal with.

RIght now I am sad to say my sink is not clean from dinner last night, and I am not going to be putting my shoes on today but that's what happens when you're sick. :)

I like flylady too but, shhh :ssst:don't tell *whispering* I haven't worn shoes in the house ever before I bought my Crocs a few days ago.

:wave2:

I delete the flylady emails everyday so I have the 27 fling boogie done. :rolleyes1 Just how many emails it is a day. :lmao:

I do it but not as well as I should.

I do not normally wear shoes in the house (unless I've been out and am going back out soon). I wear slippers and have even been caught dropping of a child in my slippers. I do try to get dressed before the morning is over, but right now I'm sitting here in my pj's. I have gotten some things done around the house and I'm toasty warm. :)

;)My hair and make-up is done but, I'm wearing dh's (huge on me) Mickey Mouse shirt and yoga pants...perfect for a day of cleaning...oh, and my new Crocs.:teeth:

ETA: I just noticed, it's the one he's wearing in my signature. I better not get bleach on it or we'll have to buy a new one in May.

Well the thing is,with me it's more of a revention thing..I don't have clutter,or a huge mess,it's just that sometimes I miss some deep cleaning stff..Flylady makes sure I get to those things

See, for me it is so much more!! My house was the exact definition of CHAOS!! I literally remember days where I could barely find an empty space on ANY flat surface in my house, and we aren't even gonna talk about my laundry. I have found that most of the time when I get up and get dressed I immediately start doing the things that need to get done, however this morning is an exception. I am up and I am dressed (haven't put my shoes on yet), but instead of cleaning I am sitting at my computer. Trying not to be upset at DH about not getting ANYTHING for Valentine's Day, especially after I spent half the afternoon making these little heart shaped cakes, and decorating them, I bought him a couple of ****s and left him a note to tell him that although it wasn't much I wanted him to know I was thinking about him. Then when I get home I didn't get nothin'. OK done ranting now!! Gonna go put my shoes on and drown my sorrows in cleaning. LOL.

Maybe someone in this thread can answer a question for me. I used to get the day's e-mails spread throughout the day. Now, at the end of the day, when I'm tired and done with chores, the whole day's worth of e-mails comes piling up in my inbox. So, the next morning I delete the previous day's e-mails.

Is this something I can fix? Why are they all coming in too late for me to do? Or is this the flylady's way of getting a jump on the next day? I immediately delete any that have the previous date on them because, I feel behind.

I always get a few emails at night..One is a did you shine your sink? The other is your small cleaning job for the next day and the other one is Go to bed!

I found Flyl;ady on the DIS boards, and have been flying since. Okay sometimes I hop,but that is because I can't stay away from the DIS. Honestly, my house is always clean enough, but the emails are helping me to stay away from teh clutter and to plan ahead.
