Flying with Light Up Shoes

my DS (3 yrs old) has Buzz Lightyear sneakers that light up.
Does anybody have experience taking these through airport security? Were you given a hard time about them? I just don't want any surprises and have him screaming and crying.

He will have to take them off and put them thru the scanner with your other carry on items.

We just did this over the last weekend flying home from LAX. My daughter had the light up shoes. Everyone now has to take off their shoes and run them through the security screening. They won't be a problem at all
