Flying with a busy 2 year old HELP......

A great travel/spare/2nd seat is the Cosco Scenera http://www.walmart.com/search/searc...48_0&search_query=scenera&Find.x=18&Find.y=12 ~ my DD's main seat is a Britax Marathon, a Scenera is her back up seat, she's almost too tall/too heavy for it and that'll be a sad day for me. I take it on the plane for her and will continue to do so until she out grows it ~ when that happens I'll gate check a backless booster for her.

Looks very close to what we have now. Thanks for the idea. I'm 99% I have to go with a carseat. Looks like it'll be going on vacation with us !

All the op ideas sound good...let me add another ...stickers! Books with removable stickers work well, and don't go everywhere. Finding the rolling pens and crayons gets old quite fast (sometimes there are triangle shaped ones?)Also - take a few picture books that you can read to him. Two year olds do have short attention spans and sometimes just want to get your attention for a while.

And remember, in the end it is only 3.5 hours (although that can seem like a lot more sometimes!) and you are on your way to a great holiday. As my kids have got older , I have needed to do less with them, (our trips generally take a bit longer too) but my mindset going in when they were younger was that I would be "on" for that time - not entertaining them myself, but not really expecting to relax on the flight either. I would also always have wrapped items, food, drink, DVD, some benadryl or whatever, and a change of clothes (including something for me...amazing where the spilt drink ends up!) I was also always very happy when we arrived!:goodvibes

I forgot about removable stickers. My girls love them so I'm sure my son would love them. I have sticker sheets from Oriental Trading Company. (A picture with a 8 x 10 sheet of stickers to decorate it. I should stock up again on some new ones they would be an easy thing to bring. Plus my girls could use them too. It usually takes my daycare kids 2 n 3 yr olds apx 15 mins to do the entire page.
