We are flying tomorrow, and so I need some quick info. I looked on the TSA website, but all the information is still confusing to me. So I can take a sippy cup w/ juice through security, as long as its less than 3 oz, is that right? :confused3 That's not very much juice for a 2 year old, but I don't know what my other options are.

Can someone please clear this up for me!?

Thanks!

No. You could take a three-ounce or less factory-sealed, labeled container through - but while some TSA Agents may let it go through, most won't. They can't tell visually how much is in the cup.
You CAN purchase drinks after you get through security.

Thanks!
As crazy as this sounds, the small airport we are flyinf our of has nowhere to buy food/juice once you go through security. Ugh! So I think I am going to try to take a small sippy cup that is filled to the 3 oz mark on it and see what happens. The worst thing possible is they make me toss it and DD has to drink water (hopefully there's a water fountain).

We'll see how it goes....

Note that it still has to fit in a ziplocked quart bag.

One thing you might want to do is get some of that powdered just-add-water apple juice stuff. There will be water somewhere once you are past security.

You can also take as many 3 oz. or less bottles filled with juice as will fit in a quart zip lock bag (or mutilple bags, as long as you don't have more than one bag per passenger) and an empty sippy cup.

Not sure if they make juice bottles that small, but you could repackage other containers. Unfortunately, the only beverages that come to mind that come in that small a container are alcoholic. Even if you cleaned them in your dishwasher before refilling them with juice, you would probably get lots of looks from your fellow passengers as you poured them into a sippy cup past security!

Best of luck -- Suzanne

If you bring even 3 oz of juice in a sippy cup, you will have to empty it.

I don't understand the dilemma; you can get juice on the plane. Until then, you can get water in the waiting area.

When we went through security at MCO last month, I had to claim juice in a sippy cup. I could not take Gatorade juice boxes on.

I was told sippy cup fine, no juice box. But you do have to claim the sippy cup filled.

If you need the juice for takeoff, just ask on the plane. When we flew SW in September, I carried on an empty bottle for Johnnie and the flight attendant happily filled it with apple juice so he had something to swallow during takeoff and landing. :teeth: He ended up falling asleep when we taxi'ed (BUF is bumpy) and woke up as we circled Orlando to land. :thumbsup2

How much you want to bet that will not happen again on our flight in Feb? :rotfl:

If they make you dump the juice at security, don't be shy. Ask the Flight Attendant as you board. And have a great trip!
