I have done some quick research on this subject. What, if any are peoples experiances with flying out of Buffalo and price savings. I am looking a just after labour day since I cannot find just after new year. I'm looking at leaving on the 3rd or 4th of Jan for 7 Nights. The nightly ratest should be the same price.

Here is what I have found.

From Toronto with AC Vac @ Pop Culture $3341 (Plus tx) w/ Dining Plan & Magic Pass.
From Buf with SW Vac $1,976.40US/2457.55 CDN w/ Dining Plan & Magic Pass.

My other questions is if I book thru South West is there tax to be paid?

What eles is there to know?

We went from Jan 4th to the 12th this year. I booked at the beginning of December as they had an awesome seat sale on. I got 5 tickets for $75US each return(Southwest). It was $25 each way then $25 in taxes. I would wait until late November or early December as the first week in January is very slow for Disney and Universal. They also still have the Christmas displays up until the 8th I believe.
As for packages, I don't have a clue.

those 75$ return fares are the things dreams will be made out of....it was 29$ each way and approximately 17$ in PFC and Security Fees )

January fares will probably not be out for "quite a while" for SW

the best price right now from buf to mco on SWA is 267.50USD all tax in....this is for flights in september...the fares listed on southwest website will include all the charges in the final price.... ( if they say the fare is 125 each way, there is ~ 17$ added to that cost for PFC and Security Fees )

the lowest we have seen in the last two weeks was 100$ each way and that was on a ding fare

think the days of 100$ return are a thing of the past but keep watching, if people are not biting at the higher fares they will probably discount .....the cheapest we have seen up to august 15 has been about 84$ each way....so about 200$ rt ( we check daily since we are going in september )

USA and United have a non stop flights on saturdays out of buf to mco ( think it is code sharing ) which have been listed out at ~190 USD return for september

you could try www.itasofware.com to get an idea what the cost of fares for legacy airlines are going for but they do not list out southwest fares there

Last year, we flew out of Buffalo the first week of January. We paid $175 U.S. return per person all taxes included. The taxes out of the U.S. are a lot cheaper than the taxes out of Canada. I booked that flight the 2nd week of August last year and was very pleased with the price. My sister flew out of Toronto the same day in January and paid almost $400 CDN return on Westjet, and of course Air Canada is higher than that. The Buffalo airport is easy to find and to get in and out of. We live in the Niagara region, so it made sense for us to leave from there. My sisters live in the London area and they are flying out of Buffalo in August on AirTran. Happy planning! :)

I LOVE SW!!!

In Feb of this year we flew out of BUF for $29 each way....for 3 of us it was $225 TOTAL!

DH and I are going down in Sept and I just booked last week for $109 each way. Grand total was $470.80. Still WAY cheaper than Pearson.

I havn't signed up for DING because my firewall at work won't let me, but I am going to download on my home computer as soon as I remember!! Go to the SW website and download it, because you never know what will come up there. You probably won't get January fares until at least October of this year. Getting to and using the BUF airport is really simple too.

Good luck!

I booked Dec. 8, 2004 for our Jan 21, 2005 flight to Orlando.

We paid $451 US for 6 of us to fly direct. Cannot be beat.

I am going to wait again until around December (unless a great DING appears) for our Jan 14, 2006 flight.

Buffalo and SWA ROCK!

I am a Virgo and a huge planner. Should I wait till I see a ding. (I've allready installed it). The fear of the unknown just kills me.

I may group the south west flight with the CAA deal @ $63US/Night

Also do CAA offer discounts on the "Magic Your Way Packages" or should I wait till I get down to Disney.

Should I also look at the packages from Southwest. Has anyone done this?

Is you want a discounted room rate through CAA with a pacakge, you have to book the package through CAA. Often putting your trip together from different sources can save you money too. You sound like a Disney first-timer - maybe your best option is to go through a TA?

it is $49.00 each way right now... for 6 of us it is $632.. not too bad!! Wish I could go now!

mousy - for how long is the $49 each way good for? I have a $360 credit that I still need to use and a quick trip to Florida would be great.
