Being from yorkshire i will tell you as it is,we took a flight from manchester to chicago & then onto orlando last december for christmas & new year the flight was great no problem at all (just a bit too long) but on the way back from chicago to manchester we had very bad turbulace for about an hour just after we all had dinner so you can guess what happened with a few people :Pinkbounc .

Don't be put off by this we have had christmas & new year in orlando for the past five years and there as been no problem before , we have also booked the same flights this year 18 DEC- 2 JAN. we just can't wait.;) ;) ;) ;)

hi thanks for your replys, we have booked for 2004 16 dec till 2 jan i have surprised dh with premium economy to try to make the flight a bit better for him!! hopefully it will be a good flight thanks again susie

Susie,

There is usually less turbulance in the cooler months and in the evenings than in the hotter months.Turbulance often occurs in hot weather due to heat meeting cooler air and causing a disturbance in the air. Thunderstorms also are more frequent in the hotter months.
I belong to a fear of flying group and have flown much more comfortably since joining them. I suggest your husband takes a look at the message board and asks questions. Pilots are at hand to explain safety issues etc.

Soar Fear of flying message Boards , do a search and he will find it sorry not sure of the link address

Hope this helps.

Lynda

Another December flyer here who has experienced no problems - nice touch with the Premium Economy with Virgin :)
