Flying fish reopening?

Has anyone heard any news about when flying fish might reopen? It’s our favorite, I’m really hoping we can go this September.

It's one of my favorites too. I am hoping soon, now that the resort is fully open ... but who knows. I would think that between now and 10/1 (50th anniversary, Ratatouille opens etc.) that most everything will open back up. I saw somewhere else that the chef is currently at Trattoria al Forno.

I saw some cast and management in there a few weeks ago, but not sure they were just using the space or preparing for opening-- hoping the latter!

Spoke with a cast member that worked there and she said they are hoping for September opening

Flying Fish is great place.
I over looked the restaurant for years, until one time DVC customer service cast me ever recommended it. It is now a must do for every trip…. At least every trip that it is open.

Pete and company posted a dining review today of Trattoria and the executive chef there now is the Flying Fish Executive chef. He will be moving on to the Flying Fish in September so looks like its opening Sept/Oct most likely

I am almost 99% positive Flying Fish will be opening in/by September.

I watched a vlog yesterday that said the Executive Chef is at Trattoria Al Forno right now he is the chef at Flying Fish and he will be returning to the Flying Fish next month for the re-opening.
Thats what his server told him.... so fingers crossed its soon.

I am wondering the same! One of our very favorites. We’re hoping for a reservation for our November trip, and am worried I’m going to miss when the reservation window opens! Hopefully someone will post here when that day comes

That information came from Pete during a DIS Dining Review of this Italian venue next door to Flying Fish. The information was maybe accurate given the plan at that time, but a return of the Flying Fish by the end of this month appears unlikely at time goes...

I stayed at BW last week and peeked in the windows of Flying Fish, and I thought it looked pretty desolate. I never saw activity in or around it in the many times I walked past.
